The royal family

H&M are currently doing a ‘Royal’ walkabout thing in Nottingham.

A crowd has turned out to see them. It’s currently being covered live on Sky News. Why on earth would anyone do this?

They aren’t working royals. They are just a pair of chancers who have scuttled back to Britain with their tails between their legs because they have died on their arses in the US. And now people are tugging their forelocks to them here.

People really are absolute fucking morons.

They wanted a half-in, half-out arrangement and QE2 said no. Now they've decided to do it anyway.

I don’t really see the point of it tbh but maybe they don’t know what else to do?

That only adds to the annoyance—the deliberate choice of that date.

Everyone always says the Royals never publicise their events in advance for security reasons, so how were they supposed to know??

I think that only applies to N.Ireland, it's the same with the PM.

What nonsense. The press would love a sparse crowd shot. They did exactly this - revelling in the lack of people for William’s cricket thing in the mall.

I read this here and googled videos. There are lots of people there. I mean I wouldn't go, but it's best not to lie.

I call it “Half In, Ass Out.”

I think she didn’t think Nottingham worthy of the HIAO.

I think down under got that honour? 😉

Perhaps Nottingham didn’t dig deep enough in their pockets. 🤷🏽‍♀️

@OliveMyLoveI meant it’s weird people are claiming not understand what Justine said.

No lots of royal visits are not on the court circular these days.

Interesting. Because on MN certain posters always say they don't advertise what they are doing in advance.
Unless it's the obvious ones.

I think it’s weird people who are also trying to use it to attack others. Weird in multiple ways. Did they sign off work?

Constantrunner · 15/10/2026 17:48

And some misogyny thrown in towards Meghan as well. Always happens here.

Where? If you see misogyny, please report it.
There have been deletions on here already, so they'll no doubt delete those.

I don't know, ask them

CurlewKate · 15/10/2026 17:54

No weirder than turning up to wave for any of them, IMHO. But I think the concept of a “working royal” is an oxymoron, so what do I know!

Daily Telegraph doesn't let me down on reporting this story, currently 3514 comments, mainly negative.

Irene is 90 years old. She is kissing the ‘royal’ hand, with cameras pointing at her. There’s a lot of media there. What’s it all for? Why are H and M back in Salty Island?

Anyway that’s the visit finished. Back in the car now to relax with some soothing elixirs.

(Image under review - it’ll take a couple of minutes.)

I hate this photo. Why should anyone want to kiss anyone else's hand like that?!! Does the older lady see Meghan as some sort of superior being?! I would absolutely hate for anyone to bow and scrape to me...we are all equal.

That doesn't surprise me. Because those who are so worked up about the couple seem to spend hours and hours writing negatively about them.

I have seen a lot of positive comments but not on DT as I don't go on there

By the expression on Meghan’s face, I think she found it sweet.

I thought she was a hugger. Not a person who likes the kiss my ring displays of adoration/worship.

I agree. But we don't get comments here if an elderly person kisses the king or queens hand.

I think it’s strange but some do definitely see Royals as a different species 🤷🏻‍♀️

No idea what the sign off work bit means

I agree. I thought she came across really warm and natural. People were obviously thrilled to see her and Harry.

I've never seen that happen. Have you got a link?

SilenceInside · 15/10/2026 18:36

@MadeInGrimsby not an elderly person but here's one example:

No picture, but an elderly woman (86) describes that she kissed the King's hand:
