It is and in cleaning out our loft before moving I am dumping a lot of old newspaper on ebay - here's a couple !!!

Wow, you must be quite the hoarder! From a family of hoarders too to have newspapers that old! I hope for your sake you get some probably much needed cash

Well at the very least the damp squib fox has been well and truly shot. So back to fake royals and grifting accusations from the 'claquers'.

You were raving on about horrible rhetoric on these threads earlier & now bubbling on about "the damp squib fox being well & truly shot"... 😂

CG on DW now claiming HAM are so fed up they considering leaving UK ???

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · Today 13:55

I'm not sure there's a market for pre-wedding articles about Sarah Ferguson, TBH. I can remember having clear out and binning a souvenir booklet about Chas 'n Di from 1981 and thinking 'yeah, and that went well, didn't it?'

Fukkit, can they make their minds up and STICK TO IT FOR ONCE?

Tiddlywinks63 · Today 13:57

I do though hate nastiness dressed up as some sort of moral high ground @Monty36 ? Perfectly sums up the Sussexes’ behaviour.

Why didn’t they just stay as working royals if they want to visit run down areas of the UK meeting and greeting the plebs? Imagine doing this for free when as a working royal they would have had bells and whistles security, assistants to hold the flowers, a massive free house in Windsor and country estate if their choice gifted by the King, designers falling over themselves to dress you, a huge clothing allowance, all expenses paid, the list goes on an on, and this pair of clowns are doing it all for nothing now they’ve come crawling back to salty island, buffoons! 😂

This is what puzzles me. Meghan is on record saying she couldn't believe she wasn't getting paid when doing this as part of the royal family. Are the charities paying them for today? If not, all they've done is trade the security, palaces, invites, staff etc. for doing the same thing except paying more, living in other people's houses, not having staff and loss of status.

I'm confused.

BBC reporting that a 'crowd of about 50' were waiting outside the charity.

Isn't that an oxymoron? 50 is hardly a crowd!

I’ve seen more people on the local bus than that!

She said no to half and half which is what this is, using his rf status to do exactly as he wishes which isn't how it works. He should work for the institution or do something else.

Obviously KC can't have him 'locked up' but he needs to stop indulging him with silly teas that on planet Sussex keep H's 'royalty' relevant and cut him off for good.

I don't care if H goes on strictly or iacgmooh, he needn't be hidden but the fake tours and cosplaying working royals needs to stop.

Well no, because half in half out me a that they would still represent the monarch in an official capacity (presumably when it suited them) and then would be free to pursue commercial ventures. They are not representing the monarchy but are rather cos playing a royal appearance here. Which is why the letter via the Lord Chamberlain was issued. As pp said, short of physically locking them up there is not much else that can be done. I agree they should stop but it’s probably best to let them just continue to make themselves look foolish

There's a market for Royal memorabilia. I hope you get plenty of bids.

The posters crowing on here as if this is some sort of win when really it’s abject failure, crawling back to do exactly the same thing but at your own expense.

Strategy and planning are not their strong point. You are expecting consistency when there is none.

The closest I've come was Margaret's 1990 visit to a huge Scout Jamboree, MrsD, so I couldn't really say
There, they organised various countries' kids into some sort of order to greet her, but the general public weren't allowed in so it was all a bit different

Considering they don't seem to publicise a lot of Royal visits ahead of time at the moment I'm guessing they don't trawl for a crowd. To be fair I doubt Harry asked them to do that.

LookOutLookOutTomCruiseIsAbout · Today 14:01

If the plan was to dazzle everyone with how popular they were in Nottingham and use that as leverage with Charles, it’s flopped badly. Hard to see where they go from here, they’re not going to make a living out of pretending to be royal, nor from selling advent calendars and bookmarks. And I’ll believe the return to acting when I see it - who would want Meghan when there are so many really amazing but underused middle-aged actresses around?

I think, being American, Meghan doesn’t really know what the BRF is about… She never did.

So, if Charles stops having them as guests for tea every blue moon they will stop their walkabouts?

They thought as a couple their profile was higher than the Royal Familys & they were A Listers.. they thought they'd be richer as non royals backfired spectacularly & now their children are unfortunately paying the price.

Poor A&L now have no status & get to go to none of the lovely events to meet up with their cousins & all the extended family...

Half in/half out was about money and other resources for me. A KP or BP press office. Royal Patronages. All while being able to make deals and sell things using their titles.

Making appearances they have self-arranged isn’t that.

And I don’t care how many people show up. It doesn’t give them any credibility for me. Even Donald Trump can draw a crowd.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · Today 14:07

What leverage, though? how that's going to be framed to HM? 'Look, we're so popular and we do the royalling so well, you need us back. You just have to forget about the OW interview, Spare, Megz taking the piss out of grannie, the racism accusation and all the calls for apologies, yah? oh, and an apology WOULD be nice, too.'
