It has been advertised for over a week now & that is all the pitiful crowd they could pull together, the majority are school children who have no choice but to stand there..

The humiliation continues!
Catherine & William never announce their movements.. anyone concerned with their safety & security would not announce where they are going to be on a given day.

As predicted another fail from the grifters!

a crowd of 200 is a lot more that I expected tbh

Bussed in and lined up, plus 3-4 squad who move around the meagre crowd shouting strange things.

Hapless pair?

Yes. They are.

It is isn't it - you would think they would ignore them and concentrate on bigging up the successes of the Institution but many seem to get unconstrained glee at poring down bile on this hapless pair as if they are channelling some sort of evil. As Justine rightly said it's unhinged.

I'm not sure you know what 'hapless' means.

What's 'royal stuff' though? Anyone can visit a charity.

The whole point of royals is that they represent the Monarchy. Harry and Meghan don't.

That's right, they do not represent the head of state or Britain officially in any way. What exactly are they doing, then? Which other celebrities or "public figures" do strings of "engagements" in this way? Why are they doing a faux royal-style walkabout? Why are they trying to link themselves to so many charities in ways that regular celebrities and "public figures" don't do?

swedishrhapsody · Today 11:48

Now, you’ll have to excuse me as I need to por myself a cup of tea.

Other people children again!

I don’t like the way these young children were made to walk past the gauntlet of those barriers, the press, and the squad. Bloody ridiculous hypocrisy from HaM again.

I imagine it's nicer than poring yourself a cup of bile.

Not that I'd know.

Hapless pair? Really?

Absolutely embarrassing! And they announced it over a week ago.. I would be thoroughly pissed off as a parent if my children were missing out on their education to cheer on a pair of grifters exiled from the royal family.

Delighted this was the non event we predicted & hope it is a firm reminder for them not to get notions above their station as private citizens!

Perhaps that was meant to be 'hopeless pair.'

I’d have been fine with the bussing in of schoolchildren if they’d have burst into a rousing rendition of ‘grandma we love you’.

That would have killed the ‘l’il ole me’ pose stone dead.

And all their own money - just look tat the love in many of the faces of the video I supplied. No 2 more helicopters on the public purse for them unlike the Heir.

Squad propaganda.

Harry was taught from an early age that this is “work” when, patently, it isn’t. It’s simply self-justification for the enormous privileges the state bestows upon them. So I can’t blame him for doing what he was taught to do by the institution and “Pa”.

Lord Foulkes made an excellent contribution to this debate in the House of Lords yesterday, challenging the very idea that royal engagements automatically constitute real work. As he put it:
“That is not real work. It is not like a teacher who works five days a week or a nurse in a geriatric hospital who might be working a 12-hour shift.”

He also questioned why taxpayers should continue funding such a sprawling institution when ordinary households are struggling to make ends meet.
Perhaps the real question is not whether Harry is doing what he was taught to do, but why we continue to accept the institution’s own definition of “work” as justification for its extraordinary privileges.

Oh thanks, I couldn't work it out!

Humiliating for them😂they would have expect 10 times more than that & the majority schoolchildren & probably paid NGOs😂

Squad propaganda.

Plopped in and left one poster to fight the good fight.

swedishrhapsody · Today 11:55

I wonder if Lord Foulkes is ‘hapless’, ‘genuinely’ or “working” himself?

Or is he just poring bile on the RF?

FallenNight · Today 11:55

I just looked at the coverage of the King today. There the BBC is reporting on anti-monarchy protestors!

So live stream of H&M and their crowd of over 100 and all the we love you supporters interviewed.

Then tucked away somewhere else on the site some pictures with down with the monarchy banners while Charles is on a public duty.

Is the BBC republican?

Or is it just because it's Wales who have a more complicated relationship with the British Monarchy. - William is not in Wales....as Prince of Wales.

50 Threads. I can't believe that @MNHQ are letting these mean spirited threads continue to run. It is a very sad (and racist) state of affairs. Shame on you

Start a thread in Site Stuff if you’re that affected by a discussion on MN. Although, yes, it’s certainly a shame about Harry’s recorded racism. I’m reminded of it every time I see him. The Sentebale court case will be interesting.

Yes, a 'couple of hundred' people in a city the size of Nottingham, where visits from 'celebrities' aren't that common, really isn't impressive. Especially as many of them probably just happened to be out and about and thought they'd have a gander at what all the fuss is about.

Well, exactly. You tend to get roughly that number of people just going about their daily business on the average
high street.
They’ll certainly have a nosy at any commotion that seems to be happening, but the vast majority wouldn’t have deliberately turned out to flag wave.
How humiliating for them. When is the penny going to drop, I wonder?

Why would they your are mistaking your own jaundiced views to blind you to the truth that by modern royal standards this is a good turnout. Or at least as good as their supposed rivals WandK.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · Today 11:56

He also questioned why taxpayers should continue funding such a sprawling institution when ordinary households are struggling to make ends meet.

A question we might pertinently ask about the Lords with their daily rate of over £ 300 tax free without actually having to do anything.

I have to agree. One day someone will sue. The optics are not good. Any moral high ground completely lost by such a stance.

A continued thread upon thread.
Mumsnet loses all credibility here.
