This was Charlotte Griffiths’s take a couple of days ago:

Has Meghan got sick of the UK already?

I'm hearing that she and Harry are both feeling fed up and say they've had enough, and it's not working here in the UK. They don't think it's working out.

They don't have high hopes for their security, and they're a bit worried about how they're being received here in the UK, and it's getting them down a bit.

Video here:

I want to see the outfit! From the DM link I can only see a burgandy jacket!

Ffs that is all just so hideously pompous Grin

The Sussex grift is conning itself now. These are not serious people. They are useless. The Bench is starting to look like a pinnacle of their achievements.

Fake it till you break it, HaM, is not a cunning plan.

FFS at this:

“But Meghan does not see herself as a working royal and is instead more of a 'full-time mum and entrepreneur', a friend has said.”

I should bloody hope not because neither of them are working royals. When will they get it through their thick skulls?!

I love that this “full time mum” has spent the day in London twice in the last week having jolly lunches. I know the kids are at school, but by the time you finish lunch and drive out to Northamptonshire from central London, I’d be very surprised if she’s getting home in time for the kids to be back from school. And certainly not doing the school run itself.

I guess that’s what the Nannies are for eh?

I wonder if those Backgrid pictures are touched up at all - her skin looks flawless and very different from the photos taken with Malala the other day.

No boos, just cheers? I genuinely expected them to be booed tbh

It's not the coverage per se thats the issue. Most of it is negative. The issue is the amount of noise the Sussexes are making to gain the coverage, the appearance of them setting up a rival court and the Windsors taking no action against them since the Lord Chamberlain's letter.

Going back in time, imagine the Duke of Windsor and Wallis returning to England after his abdication and popping up regularly at non royal events, garnering much publicity.
The Duke had been immensely popular (as had Harry, but not to the same degree and Harry of course not the direct heir). The RF made sure he was unwelcome and they only returned on very rare occasions, i.e. his mother Queen Mary’s death.

These are the bits that made me laugh. You can just tell that Meghan is green with envy that others have a life where they need people to take care of their diary.

'Her public appearances will be relatively rare. She is reading a lot of scripts at the moment. If she has time left after all of that, she will do some charity work,' the Sussex source said

But she's not a working royal. Her day isn't organised around a programme pulled together by a private secretary. She's a full-time mum and entrepreneur, and that alone takes up a lot of time and work.'

This photo and accompanying text are hilarious, surely a dig? (Will take a moment to be approved.)

The CEO Trevor Rose told me they only found out about the trip a few weeks ago, and couldn't believe it.

This is an interesting comment - doesn't really sound like a mutually organised visit.

Edit to add further comments:

Trevor Rose, chief executive of CRS, has been speaking to the BBC this morning.
He said: "It's exciting times. I found out a couple of weeks ago, completely random. Two weeks later and we're here.
"Without them I don't think we'd be here. The support they've given us has driven the kids to do more, to want to be more.
"It's incredible, the dreams the kids have thought are happening."

They were in a cordoned-off area where only the 100 people of Nottingham who like them or were just curious and a bunch of school children who had no choice were allowed to enter.

The BBC is reporting large numbers of school children being ushered into the area where HAM are due to arrive for their first visit. Someone is going to alot of effort to ensure a large friendly crowd. There also seems to be people talking about travelling a long way to see them, and talking about them in very uncritical terms. I'm smelling squad support all overthiscrowd. Unsurprising really - this is the make or break day to 'prove' they can still do royal-adjacent tours.

Exactly as I predicted, school children being shipped in.

AutumnCrowRidingThroughTheGlen · Today 10:59

More misinformation from the BBC.

Last year, Harry made a personal donation of £1.1m to a BBC Children in Need project in Nottingham supporting young people who have been affected by violence

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cmn4eq18we0dt

The BBC was supposed to be sorting its shit out after its capture by activists, but here we go again with the weird part-royalist part-republican CRT-aligned uncritical admiration of the unhinged, over-privileged HaM.

Harry and Meghan arrive in Nottingham for first joint engagement since UK return

They are in Nottingham, where they made their first joint appearance after announcing their engagement in 2017.

BigWillyLittleTodger · Today 11:04

The BBC and all the mainstream media are pro Sussex, presume this will be the lead story on the BBC news at 1.00 as always, and all other royal visits won’t even get a mention as per usual.

Badvocthebad · Today 11:06

Looks like a very "curated" "crowd" 🤔

Well, quite. That is NOT ‘the world’s media’ fgs. What on earth is the BBC playing at? Why so many BBC reporters involved? Very odd.

I feel like I’m being fed propaganda of the ‘Dear Leader’ kind.

Think they're may be a few paid NGOs infiltrating the crowd also!

MrsLeonFarrell · Today 11:11

I'm glad they weren't booed, but not surprised, we are mostly polite in this country.

And that concludes my interest in a celebrity visit.

Boudy · Today 11:13

The BBC reporter said 'It's almost as if they had never left'. Once again I am questioning my paying of license fee.
They still have a few good things going on and imo dome excellent reporters but the anchors in the studio make me feel abit sick.

Mossyfox · Today 11:14

I think this tawdry little appearance will be upstaged by the state banquet next week.

It’s hard to believe that the shower of dimwits reporting so uncritically on HaM are part of the same organisation as Lyse Doucet.

JustHereForTheShitsAndGiggles · Today 11:19

"Cries of I love you" no less. The squad were shipped in for sure.

Her bare legs do not look attractive.

LookOutLookOutTomCruiseIsAbout · Today 11:21

William doesn’t do much with the BBC post Bashir, so they fall over themselves for any royal coverage they can get. Harry is evidently not so discerning, signing up with NF while they were busy dramatising his mother’s mental health struggles and death for mass entertainment in The Crown, doesn’t mind the BBC which was responsible for the deception that led to her abandoning her security, and also happy to work with CBS who broadcast photos of Diana in the car after the crash.

“Meghan doesn’t see herself as a working royal”

No one who goes on the amount of lunch dates she does is a working anything.
