It would be a travesty if they get RAVEC protection. So many others at risk (whose politics I wouldn't necessarily agree with) but agree they are at serious risk

So Harry and Megs are going to start making more political statements??

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c3gr82rk70l8o

Well I hope Mahmood starts with women whom her own Party members have put at risk with their rhetoric like JK Rowling, Maya Forstater, Helen Joyce, the For Women Scotland women 👋, lawyers like Naomi Cunningham, Sandie Peggie and of course Rosie Duffield now and in the future.

That's why I think they have it. I just can't see her turning up without bells and whistles

They wouldn’t be able to resist crowing about it. He’d be doing a victory dance on the town hall steps 😁

Dr Raj Persaud (who I love listening to) 29 years grieving is not healthy/ realistic. That's why I believe Harry is using it to grift. Will he still be spinning the same crap in 10 years??

I agree. And it speaks to the fundamental character of the man.

When he left the UK, he had loads of goodwill both sides of the Atlantic. Before the OW interview.

He could have engaged a script writer and mined his 35 years of experience of life in the UK RF and Eton and Afghanistan for harmless anectodes about that life. And constructed humorous and insightful speeches about that weird elitist-of-elite stratosphere - without betraying any family secrets beyond the level of his gran's jam/cream scone preference - that would have made him a sought-out speaker at lucrative after-dinner gigs for a long time.

He'll still be spinning the same poor-me-listen-to-me crap in 2036.

Yes & announcing their first appearance as a couple nearly a week beforehand is not the type of behaviour one would expect from a couple who said a year ago Britain was unsafe for them to live in...

I agree completely it actually galls me to think that's where my tax is going

I am going to disagree ( sorry ). I think they are announcing in advance so that crowds of spectators and photographers turn up and they will claim to be in danger .
I honestly don’t want them harmed but I cannot see why hard pressed taxpayers should pay to protect a pampered prince and his awful wife .

Exactly I'd prefer to pay for Farage's over H&M! I'm sure he has it after what happened Anne Widdcome, I'm not a fan but he is a sitting MP at least & it would be horrific if anything like that happened again.
I feel there will be quite a few MPs who will be entitled to it from right across the political spectrum & rightly so.
I am with @Starryfifty on this & I also think they have it

Oh well. At risk of total derail, I can report (via X) that a car once owned by AMW can be snapped up for a bargain £124K

Form an orderly queue please.

"A #Bentley once owned by ex-prince Andrew is in a half-price sale by a Doncaster dealership. The vehicle was valued at £220k & acquired by the Duke of York in 2021 but is now on offer for £124k & bore his own bespoke licence plate title initials. An online listing by Portland Autos describes the Flying Spur as an 'Ex Royal Family Car!', with 7,029 miles on the clock. The 'traditionally specified Bentley' includes 22in polished alloys, LED welcome lamps, cream leather/walnut interior, sunroof & à Breitling clock. Andrew took delivery of the blue painted car in 2021 before being resprayed in racing green & came to this dealer via à 3rd party so isn’t a ‘royal pedigree’ car as such but a bargain."

I'm gonna derail your derail. I once bought a car that had been bought new by the actor who played Van Der Valk. And my DH's miserable mate bought a car that had been owned byTom Jones's manager-son.

Politicians will always upset someone with their views because of the nature of their job I think.

That redtufted menace has the option to keep his flapping beak shut.

I hope that no-one shows up on Thursday.

Exactly & at the present moment politics has never been so divided, whether they are left, right or centre they are working for the people so have a right to be able to about their business safely

Here’s where Andrew should be allowed/forced to return to Royal Duties. Just force him to show up at every event where HAM have announced they will appear, until they stop. It might help him rehabilitate his image.

This is genius!

Malala has appeared several times with Emma Watson who’s definitely more of a celebrity feminist so I don’t think she’s averse to media types whose feminism is very lightweight.

nopenotplaying · Yesterday 23:41

It was never really wise of H to detail the body count from his time in the army, almost like he wanted a target on him

Oh. Emma ‘for ALL the witches’ Watson who put the boot in on the brilliant woman who actually single-handed funds successful charities for women and children like Lumos, Volant, JKR Women’s Fund and Beira’s Place? Got you.

I'll eat my words so @Starryfifty it looks like we are wrong & they don't have it.

My God the entitlement is unbelievable, hard working MPs regardless of personal political leanings deserve & need to go about their business safely & Harry feels their needs will delay his wants... can he actually sink any lower.

That is breathtaking entitlement.

I have the solution. Harry needs to stand for election. Then he can claim the protection that MPs get. Of course, he'll have to come up with convincing promises of what he'll do in office to serve the public first...
