what does H really know about his mother? He was 11 when she died? If this suggested documentary is in HAM's hands, it will be an absolute disaster. It will be HAM and hamlets footage at Althorp. I imagine it will be the first look at the kids faces.

Starryfifty · 27/09/2026 20:48

Unfortunately for HAM, the big selling point for Diana now is William. She was the mother of future King William. Just happens, she's also mother Harry

It will, of course, and I don’t believe for a second that Netflix have commissioned it, or are paying any advances relating to it. It’ll sink, and he’ll have further trashed his reputation for a few pennies.
£100M my arse.

UncleColm · 27/09/2026 20:50

Harry was 12 I think, when she died.

If H did include the 'first look' of his kids in this supposed documentary then it would be like he is selling his kids.

And he can't just airbrush out William.

'Polo' had all the ingredients to be good and it was as dull as dishwater. Like With love Meghan. Like most things HaM are involved in..

KilkennyCats · 27/09/2026 20:35

But he’s selling it as a documentary about Diana, not yet more shiteing on about him and his life. Haven’t we all heard enough? Who is interested in any more?

If he comes in with a “what you’ve been told thus far is mostly lies, this is the truth and I should know because I’m his son and I was there!” angle, I can see plenty who would be interested. Everyone on this thread and everyone else who’s interested in the RF, H&M, England, Kate and William, gossip - all the hate watchers and historians and journos and normal people who love drama and gossip, people who loved Diana when she was alive on all those countries around the world. It would be mega-bucks. I’m not defending it - I’m looking at it as a producer would. I’d put my money in it, because I don’t give a shit about Harry’s reputation and I’d make a tidy ROI.

Baital · 27/09/2026 20:40

John Travolta 'dined out' on that dance???

Err, you do know John Travolta's career do you? Lots ro 'dine out on' that are far more famous than a dance with Diana...

No, of course he didn’t. This is an accusation that Harry flung at JT at one of the bazillion awards ceremonies in LA (maybe the Legends of Aviation one?) and got rightly blasted for because of its inaccuracy and nastiness.

But he’s tried the “this is MY truth” crap in Spare and the Oprah interview, and they’re both openly laughed at. He hasn’t a shred of credibility left.

UncleColm · 27/09/2026 20:55

But I think we already know the truth.. H has already talked about it. Unless he's going to put a new spin on 'his truth'. And will be better spinning it again for her 40th anniversary and her 50th?!

It'll be a piss poor documentary if he gets very few contributers. Nobody will want to get on the wrong side of the RF.

What could he possibly have known at his age? William is the son who knows where the bodies were buried because he was older and Diana leaned very heavily on him. The only Diana doc worth watching is one that shows her many flaws as well as her many strengths.

Yep H said it to JT at the "Legends..." event.

Wonder if she will turn up at Paris Fashion Week ?

Depends if she can find a new mark anyone to hang her self-invite on I s'pose.

That’s not my point. The book made a lot of money. Oprah would have banked them a lot of cash if that had been the deal. It’s not about your personal credibility when you’re Netflix, as long as there’s enough to pass the lawyers’ tests (did the Beckham come out with more less credibility and was that even a factor for Netflix?). It’s about $$$ and there’s lots of it to be had with this project including from people ready to rip Harry to shreds (further). More fool him for putting himself out there - I guess some people people will stop at nothing for money or ego. Literally nobody on the planet cares about Harry’s reputation apart from him, his wife (to the extent it impacts her) and the people who can make money off him and that only for as long as they can. Sadly I think even his own dad is giving up on him (mostly because he won’t listen).

Handbagsandoldcurtains · 27/09/2026 21:03

I can’t help thinking that if Harry had wanted to do a further documentary after the 20th anniversary (when W and he said there would be no more), the 25th anniversary would have been a more obvious time to do it, than the 30th.

But then I guess they hadn’t yet run out of road then.

I don't think Diana was a dimwit. She just wasn't well educated.

She employed psychics and mediums to advise her. I think that is a good demonstration of her intellect.

She also went to a good school so had every opportunity to learn but left school with virtually no qualifications.

I think H is very much like her in intellect and in impulsivity but lacks he her level of charm and sense of humour. He also has the very unpleasant addition of ultra entitlement having been born into the RF.

It’s catastrophic combination.

Quite hard to see some of those deriving from a cold and windy estate in Northamptonshire.

Might Rachel have given him the Snow Commerce quick dial?

Is this worth a buy at 99p?

I saw that as a daily deal too. Bit confused as to why the wife of the younger son who is no longer a working royal is being compared to a Queen and two Princesses of Wales, i.e. wives of the heir who may have been Queen and will be Queen one day.

A 'senior production source' (Archewell Productions?) says it will be 'box office dynamite'.

Two hours of Harry presenting, with Meghan narrating Diana's death? Is someone putting out this story, so that anything less will be accepted with relief?

Edited

Is Archewell Productions still a thing?

Website seems dead dormant.

You'd think a new project might light it up?

AlwaysRightISwear · 27/09/2026 21:22

Sounds like another HAM miscalculation to me.

AlexandraCarrington · 27/09/2026 21:27

Harry was 12 I think, when she died.

About three weeks off his 13th birthday.
He only has a child's memories and perspective on Diana. He can talk about his childhood memories, but that won't fill up two hours. And based on Spare, his childhood memories aren't necessarily very accurate.

He has been dining out on Diana for years; it's a bit rich to accuse John Travolta.

If you were referring to fruit then British strawberries are sweeter and tastier that those grown in hotter climes. Loads of berries are grown in Scotland which is quite a bit colder than Northamptonshire. Not so much oranges for marmalade though.

I wonder why it has taken CS until 62 to hit upon this idea though.

And if he’s looking for celebrity contributors to recount their memories of his mother, I’d advise him not to bother asking John Travolta!😲😂

It will be a very weird documentary because there’ll be a massive elephant in the room…called William.

It would be utterly ridiculous to attempt a documentary about Diana without William, and we know that (apart from the little matter of their estrangement), William has made it clear he is against the whole idea.

Don’t do it, H.

Norwegian strawberry jam is amazing.

Agree. It's the huge elephant in the room. I just don't see how it's going to work. William (however not directly has expressed his disgust) at the idea. CS book is already seriously discredited thanks to piers M. Nobody with an ounce of common sense will want to piss off the King or rhe future one. I just can't see how this is going to work tbh
