What is there to say that hasn't already been said?

No-one who was close to Diana is likely to take part, so how are they going to fill two hours?

And Meghan narrating Diana's death sounds deeply unhealthy, to put it mildly. It will do Harry no good at all.

A 'senior production source' (Archewell Productions?) says it will be 'box office dynamite'.

Two hours of Harry presenting, with Meghan narrating Diana's death? Is someone putting out this story, so that anything less will be accepted with relief?

Edited

Well @bluegreygreen if that is true 😲

Also @IcedPurple "Whoever the 'source' is clearly hasn't got a clue. We know they didn't make anything like $100 million from their NF deal. And the idea of queues around the corner to see a Diana film is fantasy." 👏

Writing a book about Diana is cheap ( by which I mean it doesn't cost much money - other interpretations are available ) . A proper cinema type film costs real money. Who's paying that for a first look deal? I think it has been said , documentaries don't earn as much at the box office as feature films.

I could see this as a NF deal ( whether popular or not ) but really after all that they have done before are people going to be agog to hear H with his typed out script & M narrating D's life. I can't see this earning HAM $100m +.

I've been wrong before. 😊

Yes, I think there is almost certainly going to be some kind of 'documentary', very likely with NF. What else have they got at this stage? Everything else has failed.

I very much doubt it would be a big earner though, for the reasons you and others have listed above. NF aren't going to pay them big money for a one off. They make their money mostly through subscriptions, and nobody is going to sign up to NF for a Diana documentary!

Mondommountain · 27/09/2026 17:47

I do wonder what he can share that is new.

CS has now done her childhood and funeral. Things like Diana’s private family photos and videos will also probably be jointly owned by William, I doubt Diana’s very close friends will speak on camera, certainly it seems her sisters will not. Paul Burrell would probably oblige, but Harry can’t stand him. His uncle has said he won’t participate, but I am sure he could be convinced with a nice pay day, but CS has nothing to offer either as he had very limited contact with Diana. I guess he will have to rely on the tabloid journalists who Diana befriended. Maybe Elton would oblige, but Diana had also fallen out with him in the years before her death.

The only interesting stuff would be an exposé of her relationship with the doctor and the affairs she had with Hewitt and the others.

It would likely end up another hatchet job on Charles around the breakdown of the marriage, because I doubt he will rake up Diana’s affairs.

You can tell it comes from H+M because of the last line - “Meghan is of course the daughter-in-law Diana never got to meet”.

The daughter-in-law.
And poor Diana never had a chance to meet her.

Reminds me of Bruce Forsyth when asked if he’d ever met Elvis. “No, but then he never got to meet me either.”

I've got quite the shelf full on Edward and Wallis as I find them quite fascinating.

Me too @Williaminagingerwig in fact I was in a local curio shop last week & picked up "The Crown in Crisis" for the princely sum of €1.. it's at the top of a heap of other books to get through

Enjoy! 😊

Wonder if she will turn up at Paris Fashion Week ?

Well her erstwhile "collaborator" Piccioli from Balenciaga is on his way out after the Oct show (another "Markled" victim? ) so will be interesting to see

Well if Diana had met her, they probably wouldn’t have married and therefore she wouldn’t have been her daughter -in - law!

Well, precisely. The smug assumption that Diana wouldn’t have despised Meg as much as the rest of them do is quite something.
It would almost make you wish she’d come back and haunt them. Shut them up once and for all.

spreadandsprinkles · 27/09/2026 18:15

The thing is regarding the cameras at the school visit, next time he talks of his trauma, you can guarantee the interviewer will not pick him up on this. It is absolutely pissing me off that after 6 years no one has the balls to really question him.

WTF, is that a real photo or a manipulated one.

AFAIK Hasnat Khan has never talked about his relationship with Diana, so it would be unfair to invade his privacy.

Who will they have to write and direct this? Presumably NF will retain some degree of control?

They are banking on it being a global phenomenon, first on the big screen and then streaming on TV

Oh ffs Grin

Im sure that the twats are saying they’re ’banking’ on it, but any fool can bank on whatever they like.

HaM are really not the sort of ‘fucking grifters’ I’d be investing in with actual money. Not without buy-in from the Big Cheeses of the family.

Bloody hell how many cameras does it take to get a decent photo! It's really naughty of them and completely disruptive.
Considering the pics and video that have been shown, it obviously takes more than 6 photographers and video cameramen! Because the stuff put out as press releases are dire, he is scruffy, appeared drunk or high, didn't care how uncomfortable the kids were or that they frankly didn't like him. Just some cringe old bald bloke trying to be amusing, fell completely flat.

Just quickly to get back to the purported NF / cinematic release of a Diana Documentary . I have no idea whether this is in the pipeline or not.

  1. If narrated by H - I just find his voice grating and not listenable to . Roger Allam , oh my goodness I could listen to him reading the telephone directory. So - whilst H is one of Diana's sons I am not sure he's the one with the better voice.
  2. M - I think her ( rightly or wrongly - possibly wrongly ) west coast vocal fry would not resonate with some people - and I'm probably speaking for myself. ( American posters please tell me if I have used that term - vocal fry - wrongly )
  3. If promoted as the DIL she never met - OK - true but Catherine?

This sounds more like a Channel 5 documentary writ large to me. And as others have said without W or BP - what is it really. If it's a one off I agree with @IcedPurple - by and large these things are to encourage subscriptions ( I think that is their business model ) I think this is being touted as A Thing to whip up interest or indeed to gauge interest,

I'll believe it when I see it. Given HAM's success with documentaries ( Cookie Queens etc) I could believe it being on NF but not a cinematic release .

You know what would make money? A documentary about HAM that exposed the truth about who they are and how they operate.

Even 6 one hour episodes.

Wardrobe malfunctions and fashion fails

The hypocrisy of the parents

Drugs, lies and manipulation

Etc.

That dress was far far too small, too creased and too ‘wrong’ for December.
Look at the hemline! It hadn’t seen an iron since it left the rack it fell off.
It just looked a bloody mess. As ever.

December??? Oh god 🙈

It would help if she opened a book. It never fails to astound me about how ill informed she is.

For her I wish she'd start by reading Vanity Fair, (Becky Sharp's character in particular...) <cough>

AlexandraCarrington · 27/09/2026 18:49

I thought the floor length, backless pink number she wore on the school visit in Nigeria was bad. This is worse.

(Most of what she wore on that trip was bad, in fact. Even if an outfit itself was ok, it was wrong for the occasion. And most of the outfits were just wrong.)

It would.

Also a behind the scenes book would probably be quite profitable. If I was one of the Markle siblings I'd be very tempted to do a book spilling the beans before MM puts her version out.
