Sorry to go backwards, but all this talk of security problems with the convoy takes me back a link posted very very early on in these threads, where a former police officer talked about the specialist driver training he undertook and why HaM would want to keep it. He made a thing of how close they all had to drive to each other, in rush hour traffic and not get separated (albeit with outriders).

The notion that professional security are having their convoy disrupted by yummy mummies on the school run makes me alternatively laugh and shudder at why you’d hire such incompetent security professionals. Driver training is by no means something that only the police can do, and the difficulties in maintaining a convoy without outriders during rush hour would be obvious from google maps!

I think you underestimate the driving skills and ruthlessness of yummy mummies on the school run!

Fully hypothetical, but it would be funny if they had done some dodgy tax thing in the US, fled to the UK (finding freedom 2) but were extradited and thrown into jail in the US. Pure fiction of course.

The US can have the twofer if the RF chucks uncle Andrew in.

@IcedPurple I do get what you mean about the 'blinds' but at least it about H&M- this thread veers somewhat from them these days.

I think as they are always clearly labeled as gossip then they can have their place- I also find it interesting to know what others are saying

I’m no royal or expert but I have to agree with you here !
an example, I wasn’t actually on the class WhatsApp for my son’s class because I had no idea it existed for years!!! , you can’t just add yourself…you need to know someone on there and be invited to join….you need to know someone’s number or give your number to someone to add ……so Meghan would have to have spoken to these “mums “ before to be on that chat!! …….im calling bullshit or a setup .

It sounds absolutely barking mad for anyone with "security fears" to blithely give out their phone numbers like this - what exactly do they pay for costly security advise for if they are going to ignore it?

I have lived this in my past as a result of DH's job - risk, threats even death threats and we took sensible precautions.

  • we registered a PO Box as our home address
  • used DH's workphone as contact number
  • had throwaway e-mail accounts
  • didn't allow the DCs to be photographed for nursery/school websites and local paper etc
  • very limited online presence
Just sensible precautions - but this is the HAM problem in a nutshell - they can't decide if they want to be royals or Kardashians/influencers (but I bet even Kim uses a burner phone as her school contacts)

Unless of course it wasn't her actual number but a burner phone - in which case what is the problem? They are making their integration into school life very difficult if they don't stop running to the press with every minor annoyance - how many parents will want to interact with them? I can see why Charles refuses to allow them a direct contact number and makes them go through an aide.

I think also the ruthlessness of working mums who have to hurl their children with their various baggages in the vague direction of the school door from the carpark so they can get to their first meeting at their work which keeps the family ship afloat. ( Just commenting for a friend from quarter of a century ago you understand. Said child has thrived and suffered no trauma - ahem - I believe ) 😊

heatdome · 16/09/2026 16:15

Didn’t the journalist for The Cut go with Meghan on the school run? And she wrote about Meghan handing out backpacks to homeless people and talking about she couldn’t have done the school run in the UK without paparazzi.

I agree about the blinds about Meghan pre-marriage. I don’t care if she was a “yacht girl” or whatever. The only thing that interests me there is the friendship with Epstein’s girlfriend and potentially knowing what went on in that circle.

Given the chaos they cause I could easily imagine schools refusing them, Thedom, but though they'd no doubt try I can't see them being able to damage a school because of it

More likely most wouldn't blame them in the least

I think many schools would refuse them - they'll just claim to be "full"

Many HNW parents do not want the drama that comes with HAM nor the circus of their security operation - must disrupt their kids.

Thedom · 16/09/2026 16:24

Mike Tapp rightly getting called out on X now that it’s clear what is behind his motivation and his bias due to his friendship with Liam Maguire.

Frankly, @Puzzledandpissedoff, I prefer the UK system of an independent judiciary to the US system of politically appointed Supreme Court justices.

TBF - the UK Supreme Court is formally appointed by the King but chosen by the government and in the US the president puts up a candidate to be ratified by the Senate

It is at lower levels that it diverges more - in US many judges are elected after a political campaign but in the UK there is an open selection process with the King following the advice of the Lord Chancellor and Lord Chief Justice

CluelessAmerican · 16/09/2026 16:34

IMHO, I don’t believe she is here and go back in and forth if the kids are here. She could be staying at her mother’s or another billionaire’s extra house. My thoughts are she is terrified of being booed. I think they were homeschooled in CA or had tutors. We seen photos of a plane but no people, etc. I agree with the poster, who said that some of their photos could have been taken in Scotland this summer. I don’t believe they were enrolled in “that” school, etc. Everything is smoke and mirrors with those two. All we see is her Instagram photos and hear from “sources”. How can you believe anything from someone who has lied constantly. If her lips are moving she is lying

That’s interesting but the school my children attended had nothing to do with the class WhatsApps , they were set up by parents.

I did wonder if there were groups not set up by the school and if so is that what Meghan was in?

An old video from March 2019 showing the problems keeping HAM in check when they were working Royals. The event is the 50th anniversary of Charles investiture as PoW and there are press and microphones in the room. The exhibition was supposed to be viewed only by HMTQ, Charles as PoW and W and C as next PoW. The Sussexes and other royals were supposed to be waiting in the room to the right where a reception was being held. But HAM tried to muscle into the exhibition viewing group and had to be ushered away by equerries. At one point M seems to want to chat and walk in with Charles who is accompanying his mother breaching the seniority protocol. Harry seems to be nervously turning his wedding ring but he accompanies M to wait where they should not be.

They seem to be mostly ignored by the senior royals but if you turn the sound up you can actually hear William say to Camilla ‘he just wants the attention. But we should look at the pictures’ 😮

I’d not seen that until now - wow - pushy on a whole new level, so crass.

I wonder if the French use the acronym MEH for them.

I think this is a good line in the sand for these threads. Don't care about whether M was a yotch, but do care about whether any RF connections with Epstein have been hushed up.

(Yes, obviously HaM will care about anything unDuchessy being revealed but that's because it pierces their egos - but it's their problem, not mine. We all have pasts ffs. Expect lots of PR pre-emptive clapback on her image INCOMING.)

calfolly · 16/09/2026 16:41

Wait, what, Meghan knew Epstein's girlfriend? Have they been photographed together?

I remember that incident well. The video stopped before it showed Markle taking her seat next to AMW whilst smirking knowingly at him. He actually appeared to physically recoil - and the disdain on his face was unmistakeable.

IMO, those two have history which pre-dates her embedding her claws in Harry.

There is definitely something murky with H&M and the Yorks.

The friendship with Eugenie which continued when others had recoiled post Oprah etc, Fergie teaching M to curtsey, meeting the Queen at Royal Lodge, and most weirdly H refuting the rumour that he had once punched AMW when they are happy to slag the rest of family and in fact letting it stand that he had punched the perv would have been the best bit of PR ever.

You could be right. Apparently it was William who pulled the Diana awards thing as he got wind Meg was calling on British designers to dress her for the awards and this was her big comeback

She will use kids to prevent boos but I genuinely believe she thinks she's adored

This with spades. A HNW school mum, wife of a captain of industry, declines to use WhatsApp as she says it isn’t secure. As Meghan has now proved, one way or another.

Yes, the absolute stupidity of suggesting that Meghan thought Andrew was the Queen's assistant/secretary when she met him, despite

1 having been friends with Eugenie for some time, and
2 Andrew being the most bombastic person - can you imagine him acting as if he was a servant in a room?

Meghan has said that she knew Eugenie before she met Harry. She also seemed to know Sarah Ferguson and was visiting Royal Lodge when the late Queen arrived and SF taught her to curtsey. The Yorks and the Sussexes have always been good friends. The Yorks are friendly with Piers Morgan as well.

CluelessAmerican · 16/09/2026 16:47

The Cut interview refers to Archie being three so he would have been in preschool. Hmmm, interesting

Maybe Andrew came in with a tray of drinks, fresh from the Laithwaites delivery, and Meghan got confused.

Thedom · 16/09/2026 16:51

Apparently there is speculation she will accompany Harry on some upcoming Invictus event in the next week or two.

mummypigoink · 16/09/2026 16:52

Fair points from @BasiliskStare and @GroundCloves. Maybe that’s the way for them to get the security bill down. Hire a frazzled mum from the school run. Good at defensive driving and would take out anyone trying anything funny at the school with a well thrown lunch-box because they do not have time to be caught up in the aftermath of a nefarious plot. God knows I only wish I was as efficient now as I was back in the primary days. And woe betide anyone who got in my way.

Yes, she said that the children could never be educated in the UK because they'd be "hounded by paps" and that decision made her "a good parent".
