😂 They're the equivalent of someone who resigns from a company to go self-employed and then complains bitterly that on their final day that the company car was taken off them and, not only that, they haven't received a pay cheque from the company since. Bastards!

🤣🤣🤣that really made me laugh. You've summed it up perfectly.

William is smart, practical and listens to advice. Thank goodness he’s the heir

So you know him personally?

There are so many posters on these threads posting their individual speculation and opinion as if it is fact.

Everyone thought Harry was great before he left the RF.

W may well be smart and practical and he may listen to advice but unless you know him personally you can’t possibly know for sure.

This current narrative of William and Catherine = saints

And Harry and Meghan = sinners

is so overblown it is getting so ridiculous!

William has done the proverbial “better to keep your mouth shut”

While Harry has done the “remove all doubt”.

We don’t know them, and of course it’s all opinion. But it’s not baseless opinion.

I really hope Harry is not stooping to exploiting and monetising the memory of his mother as the purpose of his temporary move to the UK

I think that is exactly what he's planning to do. No wonder William won't speak to him.

NolanChanceJustLikeTheWeatherNSoul · 12/09/2026 00:05

And the rest cause a bit of mayhem more material for how we were wronged and think of the children .
They've nothing else to trade on.

Do you only have an opinion on people you know personally? So no opinion on Trump, Putin, Keir Starmer, Andy Burnham...?
You can form an opinion about people based on what they say and what they do. William has been supporting a Suicide Prevention initiative. Harry has come back to the UK after a sojourn of negativity and grievance, trading the privacy of the RF and campaigning for taxpayer funded security.
I think we're able to form opinions. Even if we've never met the men.

I find it a very strange path to choose; permanent victimhood. Harry has decided to make bitterness and petulance his signature lifestyle choice. It's a downward spiral.

It's odd because yesterday their fans were saying this announcement was all for HAM's benefit and done with their collaboration.
They do love a collaboration, don't they?
Perhaps it's traditional for male members of the RF who marry American divorcees?

Not everyone who defends them is a fan and it is tedious to have to keep pointing that out.

Also, not everyone who can see H and M’s pov are of one mind or one voice.

And what’s with the snarky comment about Americans and divorcees? Neither of which are inherently bad. British married folk aren’t inherently superior you know!

It’s all very well and quite easy to remain dignified and silent when the press protect the monarch and heir to a certain extent and of course when you have the protection of substantial wealth from the Duchies. Of course you don’t want to rock the boat in those circumstances.

"The press" isn't one body, or an amorphous mass. It's not a conspiracy, no matter how Harry frames it that everyone is out to get him.
They never have been. It's quite straightforward.
Harry has been judged on what he has said and on what he has done.
That's what he finds intolerable. Justified criticism.

MadeInGrimsby · 12/09/2026 07:07

I feel sorry that it's all come to this. "Finding Freedom" and "carving a progressive new role" hasn't come to much. Meghan, to her credit, has tried different stuff - ok it's all a bit Trad Wife for me, but flower sprinkles and jam making is better than a life of victimhood, perpetual grievance and selling family gossip.
So now Harry wants to be a working royal again, and I think it's a shame that he never found a different way to live. Or a job.

Don't keep pointing it out then if you find it's so tedious. It's not like it's your job or anything, so you don't "have to".
I certainly couldn't be bothered to comb through a thread, commenting on posts from a few days back whose opinions differ from mine - no wonder you're getting bored.

I do know. Some of my best friends etc etc
It was a specific, supposed-to-be jokey reference to Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson.

Edited to change "Wallace" to "Wallis" on advice

I hate making silly mistakes so I'm grateful for that, especially coming inside the editing window.

Harry has not done himself any favors by courting the press and sharing his every thought and move to them.

He has remained consistent in doing that over years now. When HMQ died the tactic looked very similar to his visit in July, the recent move, the past week.

That’s not down to lack of Duchies, it’s a person playing a game no one else is playing and doing it quite poorly.

I think H’s (and perhaps M’s) problem now is that desperation to stay in the public eye is leading him/them to do and say some embarrassingly inept things. The more they do this, the less any serious organisation or charity will want to be associated with them. The6 become figures of fun.

While I don’t think there’s any going back in terms of the RF, if they’d shut up and remained quiet and dignified in the face of having to be reminded about their official status, they might have regained some public respect. But no, they had to publicly push back immediately, like toddlers, pompously designating themselves “public figures “.

That designation isn’t one you give yourself.

Have they employed rubbish “yes people “ as their PR, or are they coming out with this stuff themselves?

MadeInGrimsby · 12/09/2026 11:24

I had to laugh at his sharing of his "engagements". 😂

Isn't it sad this is the direction he has chosen maybe for the rest of his life, no doubt then it will trickle down to his children.
He/they don't have to live a life of misery.
