That's absolutely fantastic😂

These posts are so funny. You can tell reading about H&M is LoudTealHare‘s guilty pleasure. This post is the equivalent of ramming the chocolate wrapper down the back of the sofa when someone walks in the room.

😂😂😂

I find them a fascinating lens through which to think about how monarchy works and how it intersects with other aspects of society. Because Harry doesn't seem to know, or care about, the unwritten rules and precedents of the Institution he grew up in, he is providing much fodder for discussion. If he was happy to be a private citizen with a celebrity profile these threads would have died a death ages ago. It's his insistence on maintaining a status that he rejected which keeps them going.

OlympicWomen · 09/09/2026 08:18

I suspect that not being talked about would be an anathema for the Sussex duo.

De-lurking to say I don’t mind reading the blinds. We can take it with a pinch of salt or not open them, plenty of warnings were given.

Celebrities are also private citizens. I wouldn't even call them celebrities, what has Harry ever done that's entertaining? Nothing

For me, a celebrity is someone well known and likeable, the likes of James Cordan are notorious. HAM are also notorious.

I quite like them too. Insane gossip, yep. But it’s entertaining as long as not taken too seriously.

SanctusInDistress · 09/09/2026 08:25

I imagine what happened is that they told their staff to start organising visits etc to charities, organisations etc..

the contacted organisations then got in touch with police and the palace around protocols, security etc.

the palace then rereleased the statement to let people know that they (the palace) have nothing to do with these visits so to stop asking them about (the palace) about it. Doing a public statement is a better way of ensuring everybidy knows about it rather than having to reply piecemeal to every individual request.

Yes, I suspect that's what happened. As H&M were busy cultivating a quasi royal role, it's best to firmly put a stop to it. I think Meghan's Smart Works is a case in point, it looks like they were trying to pick up where they left off.

@LoudTealHare
Oi- speak for yourself!

I think these threads are some of the most amusing, witty, erudite and interesting on MN. They are 90% very good-humoured too, with few personal attacks and insults.

But thanks for the 'Letting them live rent-free in your head' and 'get a life' jibes. Do you realise that they figure on our bingo card on this board? I've just knocked out 2 of the best hackneyed and half-baked phrases already and it's not even breakfast yet.

(And can you explain why so many of these daft 'contributions' come from pps with usernames adjective+colour+noun? Interesting!)

CoffeeCantata · 09/09/2026 08:29

I bet LoudTealHare won't respond. They never do.

I agree this is likely. What I don't quite get is what the Sussexes are hoping to achieve through these re engagements with charities. They are not going to be able to earn any money through patronages. The most they can hope for is expenses and a few freebies. Where is their income stream supposed to
come from?

The three word usernames that include a colour and animal are the new default usernames that mn use for new posters now instead of …user1234 .

You’d have to wonder why he thought hightailing it to Montecito having set fire to all behind him was a good idea 🤔

I have a dream of interviewing H (and M, possibly) in which he HAS to answer a number of tough questions which involve self-reflection, self-awareness and maybe even...accepting responsibility for his current situation.

It will never happen. But yes, just getting him to make a connection between his rash, impulsive and petulant behaviour 6 years ago and the state of his life now would be marvellous, and very good for him.

I don't buy the line that Diana was a model mother - we know she enabled Harry's bad behaviour somewhat - but losing her has hit him with a double whammy. There's the obvious trauma of losing a mother, and then subsequently he will have been indulged and given much more license than is healthy for a highly privileged teenage boy. The combination of these things has been disastrous for Harry.

Yes - and sometimes (not all! Disclaimer!) they smack of 'can't be bothered/haven't the imagination to create an original name' or...'I'm not a regular here, but the Squad have tasked me with diving in, doing a poo on the other posters and then flying off to steal someone's chips!'

Hasten to add, that's not true of all such usernames, but I have noticed a correlation!

Plus, he doesn't appear to have engaged with productive counselling to help him self manage and move on.
William had to do this. Harry has chosen to monetise all his bitterness and petulance, and it's not healthy.
