I think after the nightmare that was Fergie as Duchess of York she would loose her title in a divorce. I think they would have to.

I live near an ex duchess. Maybe she simply isn't particularly interested in titles, I don't think she is, but the new wife is the Duchess so I think you have to lose it if either party remarry, which of course Andrew and Fergie did not do.

"In talks" could be M sent an email saying "I'd like to be involved" and hasn't had any response yet.

Now seeing it reported as 'advanced' talks, whatever that actually means

AN Wilson: Harry and William’s feud is the monarchy’s moment of truth

AN Wilson gets in on the royal and Homeric grifts in one superficial splurge of words. Pompous little dried prune.

I don't see the point of Portugal. Seems like a sterile resort development. They have no friends there and no connection to the actual country or culture.

Seems to me an obvious merching deal with Jack Brooksbank's resort. I doubt they actually own a property there, though they may have the use of one in return for promoting the development.

According to the DM: They also own a £6.3million villa on Portugal's idyllic Melides coast and are set to keep this too.

Waleses and King at 'Sussex summit' after Harry return announcement

The Prince of Wales and the King have held a 'Balmoral summit' during their stay in Aberdeenshire as the Royal Family discuss Wednesday's shock announcement.

"Advanced talks" means he replied and didn't explicitly say "you've gotta be joking". 🤣

I think we're seeing a lot of HAM leaks - the security one too above, which are them hoping to either pressurise people into producing the goods as it were, or to make it seem like their move is by choice.
ie. They're moving because they've promised their security "could" be upped to armed security and M has a "almost promised" acting job. They were having such a wonderful time that it's such a pity to leave the US but the UK is making such concessions that it would be rude not to...

It's the same theme as ever.
They're living their best life and people are falling over to do what they need because they are so necessary. I wonder if I could arrange for them to meet my BIL. They'd have a wonderful time competing with each other for the biggest "the whole world adores me" story. He probably thinks the eclipse was the sun bowing down before him...

I don't agree, although understand why you say this.

Grey rock, don't complain, don't explain.

It is the only way- anything else just adds fuel

The Monarchy is bigger than the sum of its parts

I agree.

With a narc, you never get the last word. Any statement or gesture is provocation to further prodding on the part of the narc.

Aww, such a shame for the RF - yet another blissful Balmoral holiday ruined by a bombshell. They must really be beginning to think there is a curse on the place.
All they want to do is let the cousins hang out, have some picnics, do some big hikes, fish some fish, maybe stalk a stag, enjoy the peace and big open space.
Now they are all wound up like springs, blood pressure through the roof, getting indigestion from having to discuss H&M and agree a strategy for dealing with them. 💐

Isn’t Guy Ritchie a member of the Cotswold set, where Meghan and Harry stayed during the July visit? They just can’t keep anything to themselves - actually, that’s not true because they did keep this move to themselves! (Or maybe they didn’t, just blurted it out within two days of deciding?) They couldn’t help the odd leak about Highgrove and now these talks about The Gentlemen…. which means they’re capable of keeping schtum but choose not to at times. Which is yet another big reveal! Is this manifesting on Meghan’s part, strong-arming Ritchie into following through? Staking him/ his set/ this world as hers?

Interesting that her staff in the USA call her Ma’am! Bloody hell. That can only be on the basis of her title. She’s not the First Lady! And yet she’s American and famously supposedly egalitarian! I couldn’t quite believe the introduction-to-an-empty-room at that NYC townhouse interview. More fool me!

I do hope that this rather unpleasant news regarding HAM doesn't impact negatively on either Charles or Catherine's health.

A carefully worded "forgive but not forget" from William would explain very nicely that HaM and their children will never be back in the royal fold. Surely no one could argue with that.
They are untrustworthy and, blood relatives or not, the royal family simply can't risk being in their close proximity without all their private information being released for public consumption.

Surely no-one could argue with that.

We can all name two people who certainly would.

Yes and I still don't believe it.

A previous article in The Times said they are 'rumoured to own'. I still think it's a merching deal with Jack Brooksbank. They simply aren't rich enough to own and maintain several expensive properties.

It is a very poor, lazy article. Wilson frames it as two guys trading insults, a feud in this both brothers are actively. Whereas, the insults are coming from one direction only, and the other brother is just getting on with his life.

You might not need to be a good actor for pantomime but you do need a great personality!

"Tiggerish Harry has been moping around their nine-bedroom, 16-bathroom Montecito mansion, suing tabloids and instructing staff not to share any negative press with Meghan. “But then,” an ex-staffer told me, “a friend or somebody in the kitchen will be like, ‘Oh ma’am, I’m so sorry today. That’s so mean,’ and she’s like, ‘What happened?’ And then it’s a f*ing tornado… She can’t get out of bed.”'

What a nightmare living in that household, whether staff or husband or child.
I expect Archie slips her hankies under the door...
