Thank God William has the Middletons to support him. Even to blow off steam

bluegreygreen · Yesterday 12:42

It's interesting.

The Squad is quite fractured. Some are saying they can't support Meghan any more, likening it to when someone returns to an abusive partner. Others are saying that she will have decided what is best for her family, and true supporters will support her through anything.

The most coherent argument that Sussex squad reddit has come up with so far seems to be that Charles' death is imminent, H needs to ensure that C has the best people around him and M is selflessly returning as his loyal support, ignoring her own traumatic past in Salty Island because of her pure, caring soul and generous spirit

Would be bad news for HAM if KC death is imminent. PW will strip them from titles asap

Oh Double Yuk. Are they actually saying that. How very crass.

It must be a huge slap in the face for them and there will be a lot of self soothing going on trying to justify it in their minds, the die hards who reside in America will feel abandoned, their “Princess” returning to salty island, the ultimate betrayal.

Incidentally, what is the view on all this of the Sussex Squad? All I’ve seen from Supporters on here is “leave them alone” type posts; I wonder what their spin is now given that the UK is a dismal racist place and life is all wonderful in Montecito with Doria.

What can they possibly say after being embarrassed and made such fools of by their idols, MaturingCheeseball?

Apart from the usual attempts to control the conversation and keep unwanted posters off the threads - and this from folk who willingly invade others - about the best I've seen is a flaccid "things change"

And yes they do change, but whether that would include H&M's attitude to the UK and its institutions remains to be seen

bluegreygreen · Yesterday 12:54

I feel sorry for Charles.

Yes, it's possible he knew about this sooner, but I suspect not.

It's actually totally in keeping with how H&M operate if he didn't. Remember they gave the RF no notice before they put out their original statement to say they were leaving.

I can't imagine he wanted this landed on him. He probably envisaged occasional catch-ups with Harry, and less frequent (likely yearly) meetings with the grandchildren.

It’s terrible for William @MrMarkhamsFanClub
He is going to be under so much pressure to relent and he really needs to stay strong on this to protect Catherine and the children.

I posted on a previous thread that unkind as it may seem, and through no fault of the children, he simply cannot let them in his life, even without their parents in attendance (eg nanny brings them over).

George is an extremely good looking 13 year old, it won’t be long before the press are slathering over any snippet related to his friendships and private life.
Then there is Catherine’s health, which is likely to still be a worry as anyone who has recovered from cancer knows. At this point she will still be having regular check ups, trying not to worry every time she has a stomach pain or a headache or back pain. They simply can’t have stray children around who may pick up snippets of conversations or meet friends within the circle and go home and either innocently repeat things or get them winkled out by Mummy dearest.

William lives by trust, discretion and privacy. He will be teaching his children the same. Break that trust and you are out of the inner or even the outer circle.
Now more than ever he (and the family) need that
protection.

Exactly this. And those saying "the Hamlets shouldn't miss out because of their parents," is just being naïve and not seeing the bigger picture.
Not knowing your own cousins because your parents don't get on is not unusual in the slightest.

Thanks for sharing, good piece. Interesting that Harry's motivation for this is once again linked to jealousy of his brother and the Wales children: he wants his children to have the education and the close family that his niece and nephews do. You'd think that might have occurred to him six years ago...

William has to hold his nerve, it seems to me. Lots of people are looking to paint him as the mean and grudging one now, even though I'd say he has more than adequate reason to be distant with Harry. He should keep doing what he's doing, look unruffled about what HAM are about, and say polite but non committal things if asked about it all. It's the Napoleon quote about 'never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake''.

"And what will the tagline be? “They’re back! And this time they’re madder than ever”? " hahahahaha this is brilliant! 😂

The Sussex Squad are definitely not the best minds of our generation, the second part of the phrase suits them pretty well though

Unless there was a conversation. Come back but keep heads down. No leaking etc. If that happens titles gone and no more funding (which I fully believe KC has been doing)

I seem to remember back in 2016 when it was rumoured that M was H’s girlfriend that Rebekah Vardy was keen for M to play her in a film about the life of Jamie Vardy and the Leicester City football club’s incredible cup win. I’m not a football expert but I do think that playing Rebekah Vardy would actually be a fantastic role for M.

Puzzledandpissedoff · Yesterday 13:12

Ii's a very fair point about "dropping things on the family" being H&Ms' MO, @bluegreygreen, but if Charles really didn't know about this then that would add to the chances of it all being a "manifestation" for me

I realise there's no point applying normal standards of behaviour to these two, but can't quite see how approaching any return like this would help in getting the family on board for whatever it is they want

Time will tell though ...

We will never know the truth but it seems implausible that KC did not know. Was listening to Robert jobson. He said a rival court will make the entire RF a mockery. Only way is, get them back in the royal fold 😰😰

Interesting that she has an acting role ( is that an idiot ) she’s doing that already over there !
meghan will wait for the inheritance and then knob off back to the US

Wouldn’t be a lot of acting tho she would be playing a mirror of herself

Not a chance she has an acting role.

I suspect the reveal of the children's faces will be a big spread in one of the glossy magazines in the new house, a couple of days before school starts.

To be published the evening before George starts Eton

Aprilfountain · Yesterday 13:22

I do feel sorry for William and Kate, whilst HAM were on the other side of the world it was relatively easy to ignore them, now however, they're going to be hanging around like a bad smell, maybe even at family occasions! Poor William, I hope he has a strategy in place.

And risk Meghan seizing the opportunity to get more fodder for another interview, @Starryfifty? Even worse, current fodder of the sort they've been shorn of, which could include details such as Catherine and Charles's actual health status?

It's an option I suppose, but not one I'd want to risk - and as a PP said they couldn't even risk discussing private matters in front of the inocent kids, for fear of Meghan prepping them beforehand or quizzing them later

Oh it's a dreadful idea. Even without Meg. Which is probably what will happen if they don't get back in. Harry will just end up with another two bit grifter.

BasiliskStare · Yesterday 13:38

Well I for one am already nostalgic for those halcyon days when HAM were safely ensconced in Montecito , and they haven't even arrived yet. 😊

I for one can believe KC was completely blindsided. They have form for trying to bounce people into doing what they want by announcing it first and without consultation.
