A shiny new thread to continue the chat on the Sussexes summer shenanigans!

I think it must be a priority to keep the Wales children far, far away from H&M who would no doubt drip ill concealed poison into young ears.

Harry says he is “worried” for them and has told us that his wife is far better at being royal than the royal family.

Despite William clearly warning him off he continues with this arrogant and entirely disrespectful narrative where only he knows what is best for his brother’s children and only he can understand them.

I am sure the pair of them would love to drive a wedge and disrupt the future of the monarchy.

The Wales appear to be a very secure and loving family so I would hope this impossible but any teenager can be vulnerable to undesirable outside influence.

I do think that the word ‘humiliated’ is critical - this would be a very deep and crippling emotion for someone so grandiose and delusional - it’s not something they feel often - the delusion helps with that. Funny how that humiliation faded away quick enough when she soon shapeshifter to buoyant bragging at the dinner party - the grandiosity helps with that.

Sarah Vine is high on my list of Dreadful Women, but that's a very good article, especially the conclusion.

The best thing William did was marry Catherine . Not just because she is smart, cheerful , respectful etc etc but because William experienced a close knit family and he has clearly learned from that and wants similar for his children and it looks like it is working .

Here's a question- Sandringham church is open to the public so anyone can go there when the grounds are open. Obviously the Royal Family service at Christmas doesn't have all and sundry just wandering in, is that right? As in, Harry and Meghan couldn't just rock up there and walk in?
What's to stop them going there when the church is open to do their own walk up the drive (filmed of course) and putting that out there?

There is a lot of security around the church at Christmas with roped off areas. But there is nothing to stop them filming themselves in November and then later on photoshopping themselves into the Christmas Day walkabout. We would think they were mad. But technically they could do it.

I agree. I think she nails the key problems they have had, all of their own making with a side order of terrible timing.

I'm glad that she didn't blame it all on Meghan too, for me Harry is the instigator and the one who is embittered and unstable. Finding someone to encourage and reflect back his sense of entitlement and victimhood must have been like winning the lottery for him. Everyone else took a good look and bailed.

I'm not sure Meghan realises that the vast public profile of the royal family means every word and detail is remembered and it's really hard to reinvent yourself if things go wrong. She keeps trying but she is luggjng around the dead weight of that title and the Oprah interview.

It IS a good article. If that anecdote at the end is true, she really is an almighty cow!!

I have read a version of that story before so I think so . Certainly sounds like her ; if she wasn’t happy with the tiara she was offered I can quite see her being displeased with a goody bag ! Remember she was annoyed she wasn’t allowed to keep freebies .

I do think even when M made some success on Suits she took full advantage of her position. (cf Reitman adverts taking shoes , hairdresser etc ) Once married to H her status / fame when through the roof. And I think that went to her head. I can imagine whilst she was in the RF and immediately afterwards when NF etc etc were throwing money at the two of them , she could behave in an entitled fashion because people were a little worried about saying anything because she could get them sacked.

Now , I would say if it doesn't come to you naturally to treat all people with respect at least heed the pragmatic saying "be nice to people on the way up because you don't know when you might need them on the way down." Or indeed heed what my Granny used to say "Dukes don't swear at dustmen". Granny meant no disrespect to dustmen it was a handy alliterative saying to mean , no matter what you think your position is , treat everyone with the respect you would expect to be afforded to you.

&FFS sake if you are getting a lovely free weekend away , don't be so utterly gauche as to complain about trivialities. It doesn't make you any more important , it's just vaguely embarrassing .

I live in a very different world , so much of this stuff is just beyond my ken.

My pennorth - there is not a cat in hell's chance of a Sandringham Christmas. KC is a kind man but he's not an idiot. I would very much love the Sussexes to visit Balmoral, though. Meghan would hate it! She is the least outdoorsy person imaginable.

That article paints quite a damning picture of her. Not surprising, but damning.

I was hypothesising. I’m just saying what it would be like for Charles in the event that he pushed for them all to put on a display of unity. I’d hope he has the sense not to.

It's like saying, "gosh, if the prime minister dressed up as a chicken and danced around the Houses of Parliament he would look s fool". Yes, he would, but he isn't going to.
These people even suggesting the Christmas walk are the ones making themselves look foolish.
HaM will repeatedly beg via sources, repeatedly. They will be ignored. That doesn't mean their requests are being considered. It means they are being ignored.

She's skim read some crap book , a downmarket version of Interviewing for Dummies , and thought , if this woman doesn't speak within a minute , she's not the sort of person I want. That same (non existent ) book would probably have the David Brent method of putting half the applications in the bin and then saying "I only want to employ lucky people". Or the apocryphal story of the Oxford interviewee who set fire to the interviewer's newspaper to get his attention.
If she couldn't be bothered to even speak to a woman who was clearly nervous , well , shame on her. But what M knows about being a good manager I reckon could go on the back of a postage stamp , given all the rubbish business word salad we have heard from her re being a female founder etc. how she treats staff and so on. No doubt she would defend it as being upfront and female ambition. I'd call it managerial incompetence.

I tend to believe the Istanbul and staff interview stories. I absolutely think she sees herself as special and that anyone would be beyond fortunate to even be in her presence. I'm wary of labelling but she displays the behaviour of a narcissist over and over again.
The fact is that she also has no-one, not one single friend or family member, who seems to be able tell her to stop being a massive diva and start behaving with some humility. Even Doria seems to be around less, but I wouldn't be surprised if that's actually her choice.
I sometimes wonder if the shedding of anyone no longer of use to her also includes people who may have tried to reign her in. No wonder she couldn't wait to leave the royal institution with it's old fashioned expectations of decent manners and how to behave, particularly as evidenced by Catherine in particular.

My point was not that it would granted, considered or would happen - but that the arrogant, entitled, grandiose and delusional H&M would be pushing, briefing, begging for this opportunity - because it’s effectively the only ‘family’ and ‘public’ opportunity they could have if KC3 has shut down every other photo opportunity which they are desperate for. I can see the bleating, leaking, briefing that ‘I just want A&L to have one Christmas in England with their Grandpa’ 🥲
