Dan Wootton obsessed with H &M

BeverleyMakka · 22/07/2026 15:16

Why is Dan Wootton so obsessed and full of hatred for Harry & Meghan?

i recently listened to Spare on audible - purely because it was free and I was interested to see what he had to say. ( most of it was boring self indulgent crap imo)
predictably the algorithms have filled my YouTube with H &M stuff!

it seems there is a daily barrage of videos from DW about them, such vitriol from this man. It’s unhinged!
I mean don’t get me wrong, I’m no fan of theirs at all but Jesus he acts like they murdered his granny.
He’ll post a picture of one of them literally smiling and turn it into a massive conspiracy theory about smirking at the Queen on her deathbed or some utter nonsense

rant over!!!

so what specific action by Meghan justified him promoting the surrogacy conspiracy?

I have no idea when he did this but Meghan releasing the twerking video didn’t help with the online conspiracy theories.

adragoncalledaudrey · 30/07/2026 20:04

Bold and brackets. I am honoured.

Just reporting isn’t a defence when it is an unsubstantiated allegation?

People speculated. Some things looked and sounded wrong. There is speculation about many figures in the public eye.

Is just trying to get folk dismissed because they’ve expressed concerns re wobbly truths ok? Where’s the defence in attacking someone telling the truth?

You don’t have to quote me either by the way thank you. I have eyes.

Putting it in bold doesn’t make me want to respond. It just looks like foot stamping. And it seems to be catching as quite a few go down that route. It isn’t necessary.

So on truth? Which version of M’s childhood meals is correct? Are people allowed to speculate on that? Or do you know the answer? Is it a lie or does she genuinely believe tv dinners are farm to table?

And as for surrogacy? I dont agree with it as a rule but I understand women being desperate for a child. What is so terrible if she would have had to go down that route? No harm if the opposite was true. Loads of health care professionals would know the truth - as would she.

Is there shame in not being able to carry a child? Shame in not being able to get pregnant? Shame in having an early hysterectomy? No.

The only shame would be lying about it and regaling everyone with fantastic tall tales of pregnancy and birth.

adragoncalledaudrey · 30/07/2026 20:19

Not brackets. Quotation marks.

All I needed was a sentence in capitals and I might have had a full set.

I’m tired. It has been a day.

I just need to watch Masterchef Australia to see how many wobbles from the truth there are.

But honestly? I’d rather hear what OP has to say and if she thinks it is easy to recall childhood meals. Or not.

And then maybe we can squeal about it.

I’m finding the defence of actually falsifying accusations of illegal, criminal activity ( that carries a prison term) , by equating it to petty criticism very insulting frankly.

Waryandwearyfactorten · 30/07/2026 16:17

I’m all for nuance but I take a different view entirely.

I think “intentionally and persistently cruel, malicious and duplicitous” is over-egging the pudding somewhat!

I don’t agree with everything they have done by any means, or how they have done it, but I don’t think H&M’s supposed crimes amount to anything near the hyperbolic description above.

I understand that initially it was disappointing for some loyal Royal supporters to see them go and over time that morphed in to resentment that “the UK obviously wasn’t good enough for M “ as some critics saw it.

I have lived abroad in quite a few different countries and I understand how difficult it is, especially when young dc come on the scene, and you are away from your mum and everything that is familiar. It also must have been difficult for an independent older bride with a job, to leave all autonomy behind. All while pregnancy hormones were raging. So I have some sympathy for M too; especially as she has said very little recently and is still being hammered by criticism.

I think the narrative against H&M has played in to the hands of BP who welcomed a distraction from AMW And it’s been repeatedly stoked and inflated by multi global media outlets for €€€€ and ££££££. It suits many people to keep this rhetoric churning.

(And why doesn’t AMW regularly attract this same level of negativity I wonder? Yes he has attracted a lot of criticism but not to the same level and yet his “crimes” are allegedly much worse. This simply doesn’t make sense by any objective measure. )

I also don’t see how people cannot grasp the racial undertones present in not all, but definitely some, of the negativity. It definitely ruffled some feathers that a mixed race woman , who was older, divorced and an American actress, was not suitably “humble” or “grateful” in some people’s eyes when joining a traditionally white ancient institution.

All these reports of her being a bully; they haven’t been proven and M seemed to work well on a collaborative show like Suits for many years. What if she is just difficult and exacting and people don’t like it? Even if she is terrifying; does that justify the hideous things repeatedly said about her in the press and on-line and her “mock” pregnancy and her parenting skills?

How would any of us like waking up to that barrage of nastiness every day?

There is also a definite double standard at play because being demanding is often seen as a good quality in a man.

On a simple human level , I also have some sympathy for Harry who impetuously and naively laid out all of his “sins” in a book, many of them committed when he was young, so that the press would leave him alone, only to find that they just repeat and amplify them year after year. Ker-ching!

And Harry badly over-estimated the love that his family had for him, as he assumed they would make a greater effort to keep him in the fold than they did. Very sad.

We also know from Patrick Jephson (and this has been confirmed by many press articles since) that the Palace previously paid for “strategic” PR help to rehabilitate Camilla which went a little too far and unfortunately led to other members of the RF, such as Diana, becoming collateral damage. There was a whole heap of gas-lighting and misogyny involved in that too when she was described as “mad” and basically described as a harlot while Charles who regularly bedded a variety of married women emerged as the respectable, sound, partner. So I am inclined to agree with Harry about being bull-dozed by certain spun stories.

And shoot me but I also don’t find it completely beyond the realms of credibility that William felt a bit threatened by the popularity of his younger brother and new wife when H&M were first married and how many younger, black and mixed race supporters they attracted.

It’s such a shame - again on a simply human level - that both brothers couldn’t work together and in many family feuds like this both sides are often at fault.

Also, outside of the protection of the Palace PR , with its substantial budget and considerable far-reaching influence, you have little chance of opposition. We know from Lownie that BP have endless resources, often use NDAs and other legal means to suppress stories or confer honours to maintain silence. They also employ former journalists and ministers who know things using a poacher turned gamekeeper approach to keep all the not so good stories about them quiet. We know this from the debacle surrounding AMW which has been covered up for years.

I am not saying that M&H haven’t made some dumb moves, but equally, returning to nuance, I don’t buy the rhetoric that everything KC & CC and W & C do is marvellous and saintly, whereas somehow H&M are bordering on evil! It’s ridiculous and I hope the debate returns to some level of objectivity soon, but I doubt it will because too much money is involved.

Imho, if I were Charles’s PR operative, I would advise him to sell off a spare privately- owned Caravaggio, or castle, quietly pay off H’s court fees, fund his lifestyle out of their vast private income, pretend to have a close relationship, and pierce the bubble that constantly over-inflates the “feud” story in the first place!

And the only reason they don’t do this I reckon is that flak for H&M is diverting people’s attention away from a great deal of focus on AMW and that is very useful to BP currently.

Wait? Harry wrote a book about himself do the press would leave him alone ?

And then she amplified it by asking Emma Grede on that podcast video, ‘did you see my baby mama dance?

And then she or H tipped off People (the cheap checkout gossip magazine) about that conversation. Just in case anyone hadn’t heard all the rumours about Meghan Markle’s baby bump …

I did wonder what Emma Grede was thinking, tbh.

Harry was in his late 30s when he was acting "impetuously and naively" and, despite his "sins" being committed when he was young, most people at 38 have been able to rein in their impetuosity and naivety and are able to look at some of their more stupid youthful acts with maturity born of life experience.
He wrote that book "so the press would leave him alone"?
If that was true, it implies he's not just stayed naive and imptuous into his middle age but he's not become any wiser either.
I think most people can sympathise about some things on a human level; I know I can.
But I'm grateful that I'm not that simple.

His impetuous and naive behaviour continues to this day - day in day out - and could be characterised as escalating. Involving himself in the futile ANL case - roasting the judge in a public statement because he didn’t like the result. No doubt we will see more of his impetuous and naive behaviour when the evidence in the upcoming Sentebale case is presented - expect more of the same persistent and intentionally cruel, malicious and duplicitous behaviour patterns to be reported.

AnAutumnCrow · 31/07/2026 12:39

I imagine that Sentebale has some very interesting texts/messages and emails from 'the Sussex PR machine'.

To bring it back into the sphere of Dan Wootton, to avoid another telling off: the really damaging thing for Harry will be if Senetebale is able to show a link between the principals and the 'squad'.

Harry has roundly mocked “Never complain, never explain” but when it comes to their open engagements with self-proclaimed “Sussex Sqaud” members and people who openly troll Harry’s father and brother and their wives, like Chris Bouzy, that’s exactly the rule they follow.

They have never explained why they are involved with and even reward people that harass their own family. So we are left to our own devices to work that out.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 31/07/2026 13:48

Mark Dolan has clapped back at their clap back, serves them right, the unnecessary drama the pair of them create shows how completely unsuitable they are to public life, there is absolutely no way they can be part of the WRF, the circus they create is so undignified, unnecessary and unedifying, I have never seen celebrities so utterly thin skinned as these two, mind you most celebrities have a talent and an actual job and have better things to do than issue statements at every little perceived slight, the Sussexes have to fill their empty vessel of a life somehow I guess.

Would you mind providing a very brief summary? They just can’t resist feeding the beast / their nemesis - they must believe that they benefit from stepping down into this low life shit storm and inadvertently giving it credibility with their engagement. Or just poor impulse control? Quite likely given the weeks and months just gone and those ahead - major stress.

IndefatigableSusan · 31/07/2026 15:48

My summary of that video is that Mark Dolan says children are off limits but went on to project things about the future behavior of these children. Then whinged about them criticizing him for it.

He’s a windbag, HAM are windbags and both are purposely giving one another more attention.

Drama queens, the lot.

Gawd he must be loving it knowing that he can directly wind up Harry, knowing that Meghan will be sitting watching him, knowing they’re making him look important and making him £££.

Meanwhile, HaM are the ones with potential money issues.

AnAutumnCrow · 31/07/2026 16:16

I watched it all now and I think Dolan makes interesting points. HaM are actively ‘baking the children into the brand’. H has publicly indicated that they are baked into his idea of hereditary public status and public life that, like HaM’s, is inseparable from the concept of celebrity. But, children cannot consent to having celebrity status thrust upon them.

He also points out that he’s had run-ins with Dan Wootton, Piers Morgan and others in the past, but they rub along now. ‘Nobody kicks a dead dog’ he says, so he assumes Harry is spooked by him challenging HaM’s merching/exploitation of the littlies.

And finally Dolan says that he won’t back down from Sussex bullying. Game on.

^^ lots of paraphrasing.

I laughed at a lot of that, ‘I feel silenced ‘LOL, the ‘ruthless and relentless Sussex PR machine that never sleeps’ , how many times did he say that when referring to H&M. No one knows his kids names because her refers to them as ‘Elton & Bernie’ in public, lol.

I think it was a piss take.😂
