Dan Wootton obsessed with H &M

Why is Dan Wootton so obsessed and full of hatred for Harry & Meghan?

i recently listened to Spare on audible - purely because it was free and I was interested to see what he had to say. ( most of it was boring self indulgent crap imo)
predictably the algorithms have filled my YouTube with H &M stuff!

it seems there is a daily barrage of videos from DW about them, such vitriol from this man. It’s unhinged!
I mean don’t get me wrong, I’m no fan of theirs at all but Jesus he acts like they murdered his granny.
He’ll post a picture of one of them literally smiling and turn it into a massive conspiracy theory about smirking at the Queen on her deathbed or some utter nonsense

rant over!!!

Wow! I just caught up with this thread. Many thanks to @adragoncalledaudrey, @BigWillyLittleTodger & @jeffgoldblum for defending me.

I mentioned early on in the thread that both DW & H use social media to make money, and that I didn't see a difference between them.

I tried watching a DW video once but found him annoying. However, he does allow comments.

I also want to know why H can make money off of books, social media, etc while DW is criticized for doing so.

I am not a DW fan but he was investigated by Metro and Scottish police for 6 months before the case was dismissed. DW seems to have decided to campaign for truth in media:

https://www.theguardian.com/media/2024/feb/21/dan-wootton-cleared-of-alleged-criminal-behaviour-after-six-month-investigation

So he is presumably sharing HIS truth with the world.

You are very welcome @BemusedAmerican

Although you can now understand if she got flustered and forgot to mention her tv dinners, sizzler salads and other fast food and concentrated on mentioning the farm to table food and sprouts.

She seemed to! 😉

I can see why many, including DW get exasperated.

Lying/embellishing the truth/having varying recollections (or however you want to frame it) requires the following - deviousness, a truly exceptional memory and a load of smarts.

It doesn’t work if you just have the first bit.

Justdancevance · 29/07/2026 22:14

they clearly think we’re all completely stupid to feed us this flip flopping nonsense,
and she just comes across as inauthentic

I’m just reading the thread and catching up now, while following the ANL trial and reactions online.

It’s very interesting to see the reaction of HaM fans to the Mosley / Byline connection.

Skittish, I’d say. Which does go toward answering the OP’s original set of questions about Dan Wootten’s keen interest in the HaM and their fandom, I’d say.

(Don’t forget we must legally acknowledge that Byline Times and Byline Investigates are separately registered. However they are both under the ‘Byline umbrella’.)

I think some feathers were ruffled

I’m really pleased the OP started this thread, and thanks to
@IAmATorturedPoet for posting that article, it has really opened my eyes to the sinister workings of the squad and who is behind it which I was not aware of before, let’s hope it opens other people’s eyes who also may not be aware. I really feel for Dan, his partner, William, Catherine and Camilla who have had to suffer at their hands.

Can you imagine what it’s going to be like when the evidence in the Sentebale defamation case against Harry and Mark Dyer starts to emerge? Sophie Chandauka talked of ‘the Sussex PR machine’ and the impression I got from her interview with Trevor Phillips was that this came from the top down, and descended to some very murky depths indeed. ‘Harassment and bullying at scale’, she said. That ‘at scale’ is extremely interesting.

Commentators like Dan Wootton and Piers Morgan are going to be mining it for content, because of their own experiences with the Sussexes from the top down.

And this time H can’t hide behind the WoC involved.

I’m not going to pretend that I won’t take delight in the downfall of those who lie and bully and use their position as a shield! 😁

And going forward if anyone asks why I’m here and why I care ..one word …..schadenfreude!!

It will be interesting to see if M again keeps her distance from H’s Court case .

I expect DW is actually loving it - as H&M with their pantomime shenanigans, ludicrous pronouncements and clap backs provide him with more or less original new daily content to line his pockets.

And ‘they have so much on the slate’ - it’s an absolute feast they are feeding the MSM and SM with ANL, Sentebale, the collapse of As Ever, and how the ‘reconciliations may vary’ plays out.

I’m here for the self inflicted comedy gold - very satisfying watching two delusional grandiose bully’s shit themselves in public.

I really hope she doesn’t settle - this will be the first time the tables have been turned and anyone has dared hold PH to account or even reflect on the impact of his behaviour. And no MM will not be seen for dust - even though her behaviour was the trigger for this escalation.

It’s interesting how the conversation changes when people openly admit to schadenfreude. The argument is often that this is simply about criticising actions, but taking pleasure in someone’s perceived downfall feels like a different thing altogether.

At this point, for me, it becomes less about accountability or fair criticism and more about enjoying another person’s misfortune.

For me life is too short to become overly invested in the lives of people I don't know personally and I find it ironic, it's the kind of intense focus that has led some people to question commentators like Dan Wootton.

Whatever anyone thinks of Harry and Meghan, I don't think taking satisfaction in strangers' struggles is a particularly healthy place for the conversation to end up and quite embarrassing to admit

I think there is an important nuance here. It’s about seeing karma come for the couple who have been actively, intentionally and persistently cruel, malicious and duplicitous to so many staff, family, friends and colleagues. It’s satisfying to see them get their comeuppance - especially when it’s by their own crack-handed words and actions - that moves it on to pure entertainment comedy gold.

Someone told me I should be embarrassed over a mistype. I thought they were a little too invested in my life, too.

Actions have consequences, it’s a lesson most of us learn before we reach adulthood.

Unfortunately, Harry doesn't appear to have learnt this important lesson as a child (for whatever reason).

He thinks it’s ok as a fully grown adult to go around making accusations, racist comments, disablist comments, punching people, bullying people and generally trampling over people without a care for their feelings..

Damn right I’m here to see him get his come uppence. Ive got my popcorn ready 🍿

You're not just describing karma though. You're saying it's satisfying and comedy gold which is taking pleasure in their perceived misfortune.

Whether you think they've brought problems on themselves is one thing to take pleasure in it is another. By your logic would you say Dan Wootton getting his own comeuppance is karma and comedy gold or does it only apply to people you dislike?

I’m actually embarrassed for them and don’t take any delight in it. Quite the opposite really. I wish they could figure it out.

When I thought Dan Wooten was guilty of the horrible things they accused him of in Byline Times I felt like getting fired was the most logical step and that justice was coming for him. That seemed appropriate. I was actually shocked to see him vindicated.

After all that has been inflicted on Dan Wooten and his partner? Yes I’m more than happy with “schadenfreude “….lets not for one minute downplay the actions here! 😡 …it wasn’t just hurty words or losing his job ! , he was falsely accused of pedophile behaviour, making indecent images of minors and sexual assault!! And why exactly? , because he criticised the Sussex’s! , if he had been found guilty he could have gone to prison!!! , and despite the fact he was cleared , his reputation has still been tainted!!
anyone who trivialises this has far more issues than I do!

@LifeIsTooShort247 I don’t mind this line of discussion but just want to warn you that @LipglossAndLies may take umbrage as it may come across to them as derail to shift of focus to other posters feelings instead of Dan Wooten and his alleged obsession with Harry and Meghan.

I am describing my satisfaction with finally seeing karma come for a consistently nasty couple.

The fact that they directly and inadvertently create each and every one of these backfiring blunders whilst grasping, grifting with their own words and actions adds a layer of entertainment for me.

Not at all can it be characterised as taking pleasure in a person’s downfall. The context and the content are crucial here.

adragoncalledaudrey · 30/07/2026 13:25

I’m not sure admitting to schadenfreude is as embarrassing as not being able to see why they are the architects of their own downfall or why some may find that downfall fitting. You (general ‘you’) can certainly understand why some are enjoying what they see.

I confess I am more bemused at their actions and the justification some have for which has been shown to be disgraceful behaviour.

However mostly I deeply dislike when they damage others by being untruthful or leave vague nasty allegations in the air in the hope that people will run with it. And boy - did some run.

Because of that, I’m going to go down the route of thinking of the people they’ve hurt going ‘how do you like them apples?’ as the pair slip further back down the road.

I will continue to be bemused by their actions, disappointed in them as people and then can come to the conclusion that sometimes life can indeed have an element of karma.

If that is schadenfreude? Be embarrassed for me if you must.

I’m watching with interest.

IndefatigableSusan · 30/07/2026 13:28

jeffgoldblum · 30/07/2026 13:38

I’m not embarrassed, ashamed or any other adjective! , in my opinion knowingly false accusations should be illegal and face prosecution.
