They have trapped themselves here. They have funded absurd levels of security for status and to try and force RAVEC's hand - remember Meghan taking a 4 car motorcade a few hundred metres from a restaurant to a theatre in the same week George Clooney was also in NYC and walking to work. But now they are stuck with the costs as backing down would be like admitting they never needed in in the first place.

Indeed this week in the UK has shown that they don't need armed security. Harry has attended events without incident and Meghan and the kids were able to arrive without being seen. The time they tried to whip up drama by calling the police to Chatham House - they ended up with an unarmed, but bemused, WPC!

I think they live a high cost lifestyle but these days there are fewer freebies . celebrities are less interested in them now and no longer queueing up to loan them private jets and holiday villas. There is also the huge mansion - possibly their biggest mistake - I have seen estimates that they employ 10-15 people in Montecito - housekeepers, gardeners, maintenance including for pool/tennis court, nannies, drivers and permanent security staff. That is really expensive in California.

They made that big announcement last December that the Archewell Foundation was closing, and would be reformed as Archewell Philanthropies - they sacked the staff as well. But since then crickets 🦗 🦗

They haven't mentioned Archewell this year so I think there must be some hold up/problem with the transfer

I worked it out on one of the other threads.
With the high taxes in California on any earned income (paid work) or earned money from investments they need to have between $12-15 million PA coming in.
This would (from memory)give them a nett (to be able to spend) of $6-8 MIllion.
Security costs are estimated to be $4 million PA.
Mortgage payments, property taxes, staff salaries (a chief of staff doesn’t come cheap), school, house running costs, garden/maintenenace, food, travel, clothes etc all adds up , plus Meghan chose to live in the most expensive part of the West Coast.
When they first left Harry got paid $1 million for a speech. In Australia he was paid $50AUd. His value has dropped through the floor.
Their income comes from Harry beimg paid $1 million from (travelyst??) PA, Plus any speaking gigs he can get. Meghan seems to be earning little tonothing from As Ever which will cost them money if the spread/UPF boxes dont sell before their expiry date.
Harry has money from his mother, his great grandmother and presumably his grandmother. He got his last and final payment from the trust the QM set up when he hit 40. However - their outgoings are much higher than what’s coming in. Yes, they got some money from Netflix /spotify but it will be nowhere near the $20 and 100 million respectively quoted as they simply didn’t do enough to earn that!
So if we estimate that Harry had/has further got a total of 40 million, plus let’s say they got - and I’m erring on the side of generous - 60 million from Spare/Netflix/Spotify that gives them 100 million.
But, they have had to pay tax on the 60 million which reduces it. Interestingly they had the money from Netflix paid to them through Archwell - which has been downgraded from a foundation and seems to have not much in its cash reserves.
Outgoings of 7 million PA which equates to 42 million over the last 6yers.
They will now be eatimg into their capital simply to maintain that olive garden house and the security.
Harry is now looking at having to find several million £ to pay ANL legal costs which is a hell of a lot of 50k speeches he needs to do isn’t it.
So to summarise- really we haven’t got a clue apart from the undeniable which is that they have higher outgoing than incoming.

If this is a bit disjointed it’s because I’m watching the tennis. 🎾

Just wanted to say - if Catherine is pictured after the men’s final with Anna Wintour who is with Nicole Kidman, plus J -Lopez is there too I think Meghan might have a little tantrum since she hasn’t been able to post the faceless kids with the King - and the high priestess of Fashion, Dame Anna doesn’t like her.
