Yes, I think Harry being absolutely vile about both Camilla and Catherine has really crossed a line. People excuse the BS written in "Spare" but it was very nasty.

Not even HAM have the brass neck to turn up after several years absence and ask for £500m over tea and scones. But I do think the visit was about maximising income streams in general either through royal adjacency or rebuilding a relationship with KC enough to secure some kind of funding. But C and C and the MIGS are not stupid and will realise this.

Charles has full knowledge of his own health and can estimate how long it will be before HAM are entirely William’s problem. He has also seen the problems his own brother has caused for the monarch (both Charles and QEII). Personally he might want to have a personal relationship with his son and grandchildren but he won’t do anything to risk the continuity of the monarchy and anger the general public or give ammunition to republicans. I think he will be agreeing plans with Camilla, W and C and the MIGS re how to proceed re the visit, future visits, any funding requests, the titles of all non working royals etc.

In the battle between HAM and a centuries old institution there is only going to be one winner. Charles won’t let his heart rule over the collective heads of the WRF and their advisors. He won’t give them £££ without being able to control their future behaviour and M will never move back to the UK to be taken care of like AMW is with housing and an allowance. If they divorce then H might try to come back though.

I didn’t even think about that! I suspect a lot more people listen to the Kelcie brothers than Joe Marler.

I'm only an occasional poster on the royal board but the ANL plus other stuff from last week has been really interesting.

I can't imagine how any of this will resolve amicably enough for everyone to reconcile down the line and rub along together.

I think the root of all of it is Harry believing he should be equal to William. Which makes sense in that he's the first generation where more modern social sensibilities are a factor. Plus I think as children, post divorce and post Diana death, an effort was made not to make the two boys feels different which in the long run was a disservice when you're part of a hereditary monarchy. Add in a marriage to an American whose country was founded on the rejection of royalty but has values rooted in the freedom to monetise everything, then it's a recipe for disaster.

They (or maybe just Harry) seem determined to try and have the HIHO they originally put forward. If they wanted to do charity far better to focus it in the US than trying to emulate a royal court with public appearances here in the UK and quasi royal 'tours'.

I think the ship has sailed for HaM being able to have very successful careers in the US, but I wouldn't rule out the kids. If they turn out to have any charisma or talent etc. they might end up with success in acting/modelling/politics or whatever as young adults. HaM have got things wrong for themselves but being the great/grandchildren of a Queen and a King plus the Diana connection is still quite a history. The Kardashians managed it with a less impressive backstory.

That said, I think their titles will actually be a hinderance in that respect. If they didn't have those they could go on to be successful Americans free of any sort of obligation to a country they barely know but still with an interesting lineage.

Just some random musings on my part. It all seems such a mess but despite all that time will march on, The Crown will likely rumble on and William will become King. So really this is all just noise at the end of the day, even if it is fascinating.

Rem when Harry complained that KC says Meg should continue working ….because he can’t afford to take on anymore costs….

Dont see it being any different now, save a few 100,000 thousands a year…..will now be a few million year.

Just as a side note. Cardi B lamented that she was paying 1 million a year in just car costs!
one month her total domestic expenditure for the month was 3 million. While I dont think Meg n Harry spend this much….I think maybe we’ve underestimated how much that type of lifestyle costs. I’m thinking Harry and Meg spend between 5-7 million a year. KC would never cover that.

That was clearly another lie on Harry's part. KC funded Meghan's clothing to the tune of about £500k, and records show that he was still funding them as a couple after they left for America.
Because it was a big change, the late Queen suggested that she could carry on with acting if she wanted. As usual, it all gets twisted by Harry. More of his lies.

How much money do people think they have / spend? I have no idea and would be interested in any guesstimates.

Depends what investments and assets they have. The super rich don't spend capital. They have it all tied up then borrow against their net worth because the debt is cheaper to finance than taxable income.

If HaM have made the mistake of reducing their net worth significantly by eating into the capital then what they can finance takes a hit. With all the legal action that's gone on it's entirely possible that's the case.

What do we think went on in the segment where only Harry was there with Charles and Camilla, before Meghan and the kids were admitted? Was that

• Harry asking for cash
• Charles telling him off for being such a blabbermouth
• Harry saying 'look, if it all goes tits up with the Mrs, have you got a one person cottage for me?'

"Can I have the extra sausage you owe me?"

No new stories, papers and social media full of Catherine at Wimbledon. The visit didn't change the dial at all.

I think they have under $50M and that they spend at least $4M annually.

I do not think they have any other source of reliable significant income currently.

If I’m close this would be problematic even if they earn that in interest. They need to grow the investment because things are only getting more expensive.

I need millions to cover my ANL bill. Also, can you renovate Royal Lodge so that I can move in now that Andrew's out? Using your money?

I always thought Charles was still partially funding them. They certainly wouldn’t be leaking that info.

I would imagine $4 million is an underestimate. I seem to remember reading that their security costs alone are about $5 million .
They have a mortgage and whatever taxes are paid in California.
They have staff- Nannies , domestic staff plus all their “ business “ staff etc
And that’s before taking into account travel , clothes and school fees .
They need to downsize .

Re the suspect activities of the BBC they just missed / avoided showing William Catherine George and Charlotte arriving at centre court - Clare Balding said oh the cheers you can hear are for them arriving then cut to them seated/sitting down. Wow

Apologies is stupid question but was is HAM's source of income ?? Surely it's not As Ever? Does he get a salary from better to as Chief Impact officer ?? Whatever that is
