I check the DM most days for a bit of celeb gossip. (And yes sometimes it does make me feel dirty but it’s a bit of light relief at lunchtime at work). I now feel inclined to cleanse myself a little by studiously not clicking on any HAM stories but clicking all those just below it to help Harry ‘slither down the page’ as @noonames puts it.

What was the 40th birthday present, please?

A 40 carat diamond ring!
I’ll take a picture from the catalogue if you want and post it (if that’s allowed @BigWillyLittleTodger ).

The MIG are def still covering for him and Meghan and her scrubbed internet history. Still protecting the RF, the question is why?

Perhaps because even worse revelations would bring more cries of "why didn't they do anything about it", @goddammitprincess?

For all the spinning the institution can seem pretty sanguine as long as their image stays intact, but they've already been badly burned with Andrew and I doubt they'd welcome another bout of terrible headlines⁹

Edited to add that if you doubt the Internet can be scrubbed, try looking for the Oprah interview, @starryfifty ... David Copperfield could hardly have done a better job

Edited

Fortunately plenty of us archived the Oprah interview transcript online and in our personal vaults.

And M will have her own copy tucked away JIC.

In this article, we have Harry is 'buoyed, very happy and really energised' after the meeting

Crikey, having seen how Harry was pre meeting with Alison Hammond, I can’t imagine what a post meeting ‘really energised’ Harry would look like!

That's the euphemism for when they have to tie him to a nice tree and throw buckets of cold water over him every five minutes.

HAM will leak. I read somewhere it was an hour meeting (I think Tom Sykes) but I could be wrong. Meg remarkably quiet 😳 but I bet H will leak with James corden

When is the James Cordon appearance - does anyone know if it goes out live (so PH would be in US) or if it’s pre recorded?

The Sussexes have already dropped well down the news page. There's too much of other interest going on. Great Wimbledon coverage too of William and Catherine and children.

The difference in how they present is astounding. The Wales’ look like such a close and happy family. The way they interact speaks volumes and there are some fab pictures of George messing around in a hat with Charlotte and Catherine both in fits at him.

I thought it was this evening (US time) but I have no idea where I got that from. I'll see if I can find out something more concrete and report back.

I think it will be interesting to see over the next few weeks just what snippets are leaked/spun about the meeting.

We already have reporters saying that it had started to be leaked pre-meeting (when Harry was at the Invictus engagement) that something was happening: Harry was very happy and there were rumours about Highgrove.

In this article, we have Harry is 'buoyed, very happy and really energised' after the meeting.
We also have a royal source responded that 'blood is blood' when asked about the decision to meet.
'Every journey of a thousand miles begins with one footstep,' the source added.

Note that it doesn't say 'a palace source' or a source close to the King, as you might expect in the context.

Technically either Harry or Meghan would be royal sources. Just sayin'

Ok, so the exact date seems to be a bit secret 🐿️ but JC World Cup segment runs nightly through to 15th July, so if not tonight it's going to be Tues or Wed.

Starryfifty · 13/07/2026 19:55

The Wales always look very natural and happy. Not contrived at all. Meg's absence all week speaks volumes. "Her love" had a very tough week and she she was nowhere to be seen.

Justdancevance · 13/07/2026 20:00

The Wales come across as authentic and Charlotte looks so like her dad and his mum when she smiles.

You can see the live traffic data in action as stories slip down the MailOnline pages. Harry doesn’t seem to have much sticking power, which I suppose suggests he generates less traffic than some of the others, especially if the story is positive.

So the main royal story at the moment is the Waleses at Wimbledon. Then comes one about C’s Wimbledon outfits, and one about Samuel Chatto (30th in LoS) getting engaged. Then comes the first one that mentions Harry, but it’s not particularly positive, just the inside take on how the Highgrove trip was handled, sneaking them in etc.

Then before the next H+M mention we have Beatrice and her DH wanting to keep ties with William, then where do socialites go on hols, then William leading the celebrations after the Norway win.

Then at last Meghan pops up, but alas not in a good way, the article is about how she is just as bad as Blake Lively. It’s next to one about the recent victory for free speech, which has a photo of Harry looking glum. The first positive story, which has the video of him humping Alison H, comes after one about how Harry could learn a thing or two from Edward’s approach to things, and one about the Duke of Rutland’s daughter having her suitcase stolen on a train. It does look like he is less interesting to Mail readers than the Duke of Rutland’s daughter’s suitcase, which is not a particularly good return for a supposedly triumphant few days. Stories about Harry do tend to slither down the page pretty rapidly I think.

edited for sense

Edited

I think that's a bit of a leap. We can't see their live traffic data, only stories being reordered. That isn't purely based on clicks - editors move content around all the time for different reasons, not just because of engagement. I manage a news section of a website myself, and there are loads of reasons a story might move besides how many people have clicked on it. Without access to their analytics, it's impossible to know why it's been repositioned.

I find their dynamic so strange. Harry sits in court crying about how Meghans life had been made a misery by the papers, he speaks about supporting her in interviews and appearing in her TV programs yet when the shit hits the fan with him (which is often) she's nowhere to be seen, never seen to be supporting him.

I wonder if they are aware of the optics of Meghan, refusing to come meet veterans who risked their life in a war zone because she was too scared for her own safety. Too dangerous to come out in London. Whereas you've had actual royals working in London seemingly very safe.

He actually said Prince of England? Has he heard of Britain?
Also, all Dads are full time. Army veteran isn't an occupation and.... didn't he leave the RF?
What a fool.

Yes, I thought that was odd. However, he probably can't differentiate because Britain/England. What an embarrassment. At least he dropped the humanitarian/ mental health advocate
