I think Charles realises that when Harry is short he becomes more and more troublesome in public too.

He's not 'short' though, is he? He's worth millions. He and his wife just aspire to a life beyond their means.

If Charles bails him out for a frivolous law suit he would surely have strongly advised him against, where does it end?

No, but he might struggle to pay the court costs.

I see Harry left Althorp this morning so that must be where he has been staying. I thought he'd gone home.

Indianrollerbird · 11/07/2026 15:52

@BasiliskStare @RecoIIectionsMayVary , again, we will have to agree to disagree. I believe it was a reward, coming off the back of an egregious display of utter disdain for our institutions this week (and for the last 6 years) from Harry. And I also believe it was a sign of KC's weakness in conflating his personal issues with his duties as head of state. If it was all on "his terms" and he was playing 4D chess with the Sussexes as pawns in his hand, then giving a meeting to people who have been responsible for the utterly despicable online harassment of his other son, DIL and grandchildren makes me think even less of him. And if the Sussexes were under his control, he wouldn't have to put out any sort of statement. But they are not, so he has had to get the first jab in (he's had to explain), because he can't control the blabbing and leaking that followed every other encounter with the Sussexes, so what makes this one different? And if they blab/leak, it will be back to square one all round, because Charles has never taken any decisive action - the time for final warnings passed many years ago, surely? If he removes them from the website, I'll change my mind, and agree he's a genius.

I don't really understand the argument that Charles has somehow taken the sting out of the security case (I assume that's what you meant @RecoIIectionsMayVary ). It was never Charles's place to prove Harry and family are safe in the UK in the first place, and implying he has done so seems to imply that he has some control over the matter with RAVEC. All Charles has done is welcome them into his perfectly secure home. Nobody serious minded has ever thought they would be under threat on palace/royal property. There was never a sting in the tail to remove, just the delusions of a paranoid egomaniac.

If the media report on their charade next time the only people to blame are the people ua that click the links

I don't agree. It's their job to report it, and nobody else but the perpetrators of the charade are responsible for it. "It's the media's fault, don't read it" argument simply plays into Sussex hands, and their desire for censorship of any negative press against them.

notimagain · 11/07/2026 15:53

a private jet to fly into London, I'm assuming Heathrow,

Possibly but Heathrow is very tricky for biz jets due ATC capacity...

Farnborough or Northolt are the more usual West London options for the well heeled.

As pp have said, @ShamedBySiri, they called that child Princess Lilibet Diana for a reason.
That reason is money.

Heh - I hope Charles and Camilla called her Lily when they met.

Yes, it seems the kids go from one large estate to another….without seeing the world inbetween.

I mean, really what’s the difference between spending your time in a mansion in California, a mansion in the south of France, a mansion in southern England? It’s all the same, no?

They know nothing about the cultures of these places because they are completely shuttered away. Even on occasion where we see them ‘out’ - the pumpkin farm, Waterskiing, skiing…..it’s closed off to the public.

These kids will have a seriously strange view of what it is to live in a community, what it is to be part of a family etc.

Today Harry is at some family festival ….literally the perfect place to take the kids. Even if he didn’t want them photographed, I’m sure they could have arranged that. Instead they are away from kids their own age, learning about the British culture Harry seems to want to pass on. There would have been kids from all round the country there, all the different accents. There would have been summer picnics …..scotch eggs and all! But they miss even these tiny parts of culture because their mother and father keep them hidden away in huge mansions.

Instead what they will be doing today, is going on a boat ride to chat to their dead granny…..rather than actual real life people!

Mylovelygreendress · 11/07/2026 16:00

If A and L were expecting to meet KC in a castle they must have been disappointed!

Well their own father knows absolutely nothing about his culture so I very much doubt his kids will. As for Megs, she has absolutely no interest in education, natural curiosity, just money making and fame

Yes, like those pics of them at that pumpkin patch. The place was empty and they were playing alone. Quite sad really.

Children of other famous people must go to public events and manage not to be photographed, or at least not to have the photos published. There are no photos of the PM's children. We don't even know their names. Why are Archie and Lili so special?

Meanwhile, the Royal Family had a good week ...

https://archive.ph/IZPhW

I wonder what the Sussexes and their PR machine will make of this. Here we have the King, Queen, Heir and his wife all out, visible in London (remember where it was far too dangerous for Meghan) carrying out engagements and with good press to boot.

And we have the wife of the 5th in line, who is an ex-member of RF refusing to come out in public at an event to support veterans who have given their life to their country because she believes it's too "dangerous" based on the "advice" of some private security firm.

PigglyWigglyOhYeah · 11/07/2026 16:07

I hope if they stayed at Althorp that they weren't put up in the main house. Imagine how creepy it would be for those two little kids. I'm hoping they were holidaying in Europe, otherwise imagine the turmoil, as a young child, of a 10 hour flight to a strange country, the strain of visiting a strange house with people (however nice) you've never met before...then a long-ish car journey, possibly with agitated or emotionally charged parents, to another strange house to meet more people you don't know, before being put to bed in an unfamiliar, potentially spooky room. I can imagine there will be some very over-tired people in the Sussex camp today.

Edited to correct typo

I hope they called her by whatever name she was introduced as - she is an innocent in all this.

She is, poor little girl. They called her Princess Lilibet Diana and I do hope that isn't a millstone round her neck.

@Indianrollerbird - again - I agree with much of your last post - I just disagree the private visit was a reward in the way that it was done. But I hope polite disagreement is OK on occasion 😊

Of course, we all see the meeting and its meaning in different ways, and I hope my disagreement with the majority view on this thread has not been impolite. We all still have the common goal of wanting to see the Sussexes get their just desserts and/or bugger off into obscurity.

You should know there is another poster with a similar name that I initially thought was you on another thread! , I wondered what had happened to change your opinion so drastically!
