Only the online pages. Tomorrow's print pages will still be all about King Kane.

As they should be. Still irksome that that prat is detracting from it at all mind.

This reminds me of an old Jeffrey Archer short story called Henry’s Hiccup. A rich man is taking his new bride to Paris for their honeymoon postwar and doesn’t have his servants anymore due to them still serving in the forces. He is shocked that all the things he took for granted- luggage management, first class tickets, fancy suites and dinner reservations no longer just miraculously happened. He thought they happened because of his greatness, not due to his frantic servants working behind the scenes.

The similarities to Harry’s situation are uncanny.

I remember that short story! It's about hubris.

Harry needs to FTFO and STFU. I bet the RF are thinking the same.

I love that they have all have a full diary all week 😂

So is it pretty much settled now that Meghan and the kids are not coming? Or are we in for yet more twists in this ridiculous farce?

LovelyCrocus · Today 11:58

Prince Harry is yesterday’s man.

He’s largely an irrelevance now and it’s finally beginning to dawn on him that moving to America accelerated this.

Yep. There's only one Harry the country is interested in right now.

I really think that Harry the Clown, like his wife, is living in the past, when he was the 'fun prince'. But those days are long gone and now he's just a sideshow, comical and infuriating in equal measure.

What is going on!?

I don't think TM was inconsistent was he ? She was very gushing about him until she me H. Doria was missing for quite long periods in Meg's childhood. Inexplicable. Fair enough, the half brother and sister are horrendous but when did that relationship break down ?

He has said he wasn’t a great husband. I think the older Markle children felt the shift in his attention when Meghan arrived so not consistent as a parent either. I’m not here to criticise TM, we all make mistakes, but I think the relationship between MM and TM is a lot more complicated than has been described.

The Tig was incredibly gushing, she made him seem like an incredible father, very supportive both emotionally and financially. Taking her to dance class, then always a nice restaurant afterwards. Believing in her ambition to be an actress and supporting it. Paying for her first wedding.
We don't know all the details, but that's how she portrayed him.

Fair enough @Puzzledandpissedoff - not a palace statement (which I agree with @IcedPurple should be kept for important things) but information from the palace press office.

The whole thing is just dizzyingly stupid.
Perfectly described, @IcedPurple.

What a difference there is between the two Harrys in the news atm: Harry Kane, saviour and hero of England and ex-prince Hazbeen, the moaning ginger whinger!!

Remarkable, isn’t it, that the only Sir Harry of the two is not the superb sportsman, team player and leader who puts his heart and soul into representing his country, but the Spiteful Little C_ who maliciously impugned the whole nation as racist for money.

I think the latest (of course it changes by the minute) is that they will (or may) still come, but later in the week.

because London is too dangerous, but the midlands are fine?

As ever, it makes no sense.

BillyBites · Today 12:39

To be honest, I’m surprised that Buckingham Palace ever even made anyone’s shortlist as a place to stay as it opens to the public later this week.

Harold has become
so very tedious. KC and PW should really now completely freeze him out. He is such a headache for them.

He's Henry not Harold

I’m new to these threads, having found them a week ago, and feel I’ve found my people! But, bloody hell, you ladies are fast. I can’t keep up with you all!

I'm sure the children will have a super time in Birmingham - superb curry opportunities, plus Cadbury World!

Cadbury World was disappointing. But not as disappointing as HAM turned out

Diana would have preferred to be more the sort of parent that Catherine and William have been, but she was the outsider who married in and couldn't take the change that far at that time. She still managed to make substantial changes such as taking baby William with them on overseas trips, which at the time was a major departure - generally RF members left their children for years when it suited them (see HMTLQ leaving Charles to go off and live the life of an officer's wife with Philip in Malta. No wonder Charles is messed up...)

With the help of the Middleton model, and the precedences set by his mother, William has taken parenting to a far more functional level.

She still made enough time for her numerous affairs - first one when PH was barely 2 years old. The “3 people in this marriage” narrative was totally disingenuous when she broadcast it - because the reality is there were usually 4 (to be fair 3 of the characters were consistent - it was Diana’s shag of the month that was the revolving door).

It would have been more accurate to claim she was often the 3rd person in other people’s marriages.

Maybe this is ‘normal’ aristocratic behaviour. Maybe it was her revenge or comfort for a rubbish marriage - but all the psycho drama of both parents of young toddlers - their fights and then each of their preoccupations with their secret sex lives - would not have left much space to create an emotionally healthy foundation to focus on the young children’s emotional needs and development. I don’t think either parent was present physically enough or emotionally available enough for their sons.

This explanation makes no sense at all. Why would "spending the week making alternative security arrangements" mean he had to delay accepting accommodation at the most secure home in London? He has to play the victim, every time.

Surely you would confirm accommodation first and then the security arrangements? Obviously the lines are being manipulated to the obvious effect of trying to inspire sympathy, which hasn't worked. I can see there being an element of the Palace not wishing to be associated with the ANL judgement however it doesn't play out that they would have made the offer and then rescinded it 'just cause'. They would have had to make their own arrangements, PH would have needed to confirm he was going to stay there for that to happen. They didn't get a response, so they stopped making plans.

A bit like not receiving an RSVP to a child's birthday party from an invitee, you assume they're not coming so you don't make the extra sandwich/party bag. Inevitably they turn up and the parents get stroppy because little Johnny didn't get anything for attending.

#HamDram at its finest.

Just read the BBC article, it may be my interpretation but recent news articles about the Sussexes seem flat, as if no one can really be bothered with their drama any more. I'm interested in the court case decision but the rest is just tedious.
