Why on earth is this manufactured drama the lead story on the BBC website right now? When the England team literally won a World Cup match in a genuinely exciting game just a few hours ago?

For God's sake, BBC, put the football team back at the top of the page where they belong. They've actually earnt it. If you want to run a "will Harry come to the UK or not" story then there'll be another one (or three) along in a minute.

Morning ladies!
Bit late to the thread today -I seem to have spent most of last night watching football ⚽️.
I hope PW will go if we get to the final,
Anyhow. The ‘now you see me-now you dont’ drama continues apace.
Invictus must surely be appalled at him.
I read the DM piece about Harry accepting offer of BP , Then l sorted dog out, hoovered, sat down with coffee and it’s all changed!
The piece in red caught my eye though.
Slipped in right at the bottom.
If you had lost & you knew you had lost would you really write that??

And, for everyone who thinks Charlotte looks like QEII - she’s the spit of William/Diana just with dark hair. I think this must drive Harry wild.

The BBC has decided that Harry is very important. They produce the most ridiculous, fawning reports, it's quite extraordinary.

It confirms that Harry knows nothing about security. The most important thing is effective planning, and planning ahead.

What a difference there is between the two Harrys in the news atm: Harry Kane, saviour and hero of England and ex-prince Hazbeen, the moaning ginger whinger!!

If he actually is in France as his pr spin suggests he is, then he doesn’t need to catch a flight from France to here until tonight or tomorrow morning if he’s actually going to turn up!

Middlemarch123 · Today 10:47

Harry Kane should be dominating the headlines, not Harry Pain.

I know! Such a contrast. Those players showed proper resilience and determination.
No whining about the heat, the humidity, the altitude, the Mexican fans, the dangers of attack, the risk of tear gas. No comparison.

Oh my god, the statement just released by Harry's camp. No mention that they wrote to the Palace on Saturday rejecting the offer to stay!!! From the DM story:

Harry's spokesman then released an extraordinary statement expressing 'disappointment' and accusing the Palace of withdrawing the offer 'at the last moment.'
'I am aware of multiple briefings from Buckingham Palace last week suggesting that the Duke had not accepted the offer of accommodation at a Royal Residence,' the spokesman said.
'Following RAVEC’s decision not to provide security for his family, the Duke spent last week making alternative security arrangements. Once those arrangements were in place, he was able to formally accept the offer of accommodation for himself over the weekend.
'It is therefore disappointing that the offer has now been withdrawn, with Tuesday’s judgment in the Associated Newspapers Limited case cited as the reason. Buckingham Palace has, however, been aware of that judgment since last Thursday. It is therefore unclear why, having formally accepted the accommodation offer, it has now been withdrawn at the last moment.'

Following RAVEC’s decision not to provide security for his family, the Duke spent last week making alternative security arrangements

I don’t understand why Harry had to spend the whole of last week making the same security arrangements he’s had every single time he’s been to the UK since he flounced? Why would he assume that the RAVEC assessment would be so very different this time that he would be given police escorts, blue flashing lights and guns, as if he were the heir to the throne?

And why did he or one of his poor, beleaguered team formally decline the offer of Buckingham Palace on Saturday (a day after the deadline) only then to expect to be able to stay there?

It’s all very undignified.

He could private jet it to Biggin Hill, then helicopter to London – both of which don't need as much notice as a general flight. Flight plan needs to be filed with Air Traffic Control 30-60 mins before leaving.

His team released a statement this morning! Despite knowing they'd formally turned down the invite on Saturday. Either they are idiots who have no concept of how a Royal stay works, or they thought they could manipulate the news coverage by pretending Harry had been rejected.

Either way, they all need to be sacked for such appalling handling of the situation.

There is no 'team'.

He's so cheap he's probably on a dinghy or hiding in a cross Channel lorry.

The team is just whichever staffer is currently cowering in the corner while Harry and Meghan shout at them.

I’m now wondering if it’s true he’s in France and the subtle hints about helicopters, was in fact him requesting a royal helicopter go and pick him up?!

HAM Harry has cried wolf too many times. I just don't believe anything his spokesperson/Harry says any more.

Its all RAVEC's fault for not being manipulated by my genius PR.

We have a week of this nonsense to come.

I don’t want to start a new hat eating bet , but yes I think he’s trying to spin a way to stay home while simultaneously blaming it on the royal family! 🤷‍♀️

Oh, go on. I still want to see you eating that hat 🤣

I think we can all see just why their staff leave in a never ending parade. Their lack of care and understanding that, in order to stay somewhere like BP, they need to rota staff for that stay. Announcing grandly that he has 'accepted the offer' pretty much as wheel touch down in the UK is awful behaviour.

Yes, same with his security. He thinks he can just rock up and have professionals waiting to do his bidding. He doesn't get that these people have their own lives and families and their rotas have to be planned in advance.

Along with their terrible mistreatment of their own staff, it's just so obvious that the Sussexes have no respect for working people.
