But surely he must have had gorgeous women throwing themselves at him all the time?

I remember reading a bit in Spare where Harry says something like his Dad and William wouldn't believe what a gorgeous woman he had partnered up with (Megan)...and I thought that was odd as shouldn't he have been meeting beautiful women all the time?!

I’m not sure it’s that simple.

In the social circles he and W mixed in, yes of course there are many attractive women.

The issue is that many of them are not only wealthy themselves but also very aware of what dating a member of the RF entails.

If you mix in those circles you also have a dating pool of men who are by far more wealthy, that don’t come with all the baggage of a royal entanglement and who (trying to be polite) offer more both aesthetically and intellectually as a partner.

I may be wrong (or rather the gossip at the time may have been way off point) but when W split with C before being engaged it was reported that W expected a queue of women to be falling at his feet only to find the pickings pretty slim to non existent.

How true it is I don’t know but it was suggested he had his eye on Isabella Calthorpe (Cressida Bonas’s half sister) but she wasn’t interested in the slightest and went on to marry Sam Branson (Richard Branson’s son). The end result being W waking up to the fact that he’d struck gold already with C and nearly blown it.

So I can kind of see why H was enraptured by M. She is very beautiful and more importantly seemed to be unbothered (or possibly unaware or otherwise motivated) in the respect of all the reasons why so many other women he knew were not falling to his feet.

I appreciate there are probably many, many women who would (shall we say) overlook some of H’s characteristics and see him as a catch but the problem is most of them wouldn’t be in a position to ever meet him.

Ayahuasca?

Psychedelic properties said to be similar to LSD, class A in UK where just possessing it can carry a seven year term and/or unlimited fine.

www.dailymail.com/health/article-11825395/amp/Prince-Harry-sparks-warning-irresponsible-ayahuasca-promotion.html

Guess IPP status would get around all that inconvenience though...

Many thanks! I knew it was bad but it’s good to get some evidence 👍

”And then he said, ‘You are jealous of how beautiful Meghan is arnt you Willy’ -so I pushed him in the dog bowl”.

I don’t think Harry is that clueless.
Im sure he is fully aware that monarchs tie money up in trusts for their children & grandchildren so it’s not subject to any IHT and could run the risk of having figures leaked.
It’s what the Queen Mother, Prince Philip and QEII did -so he cannot be utterly unaware.
I think Meghan may be unaware though. I’m starting to think he lies to her or feigns ignorance about various aspects of Royal Life.
There is no way that the King will be leaving a huge cash inheritance to Harry.
No way at all. It will be tied up tighter than a sailors knot.
I think Harry knows this but he is too scared to tell Meghan - it’s not like she has anybody within the family she can ask either can she.
There will be (I’m sure) a trust from The King with Harry’s name on but considering Andrew didn’t have enough to run Royal lodge I’m going to go out on a limb here and say Harry’s trust will not be paying anywhere near the 10million $ he needs a year to live (security, mortgage , income taxes, property taxes, household cost, staff, schooling, day to day expenses, travel, clothes etc etc).
A 100 million $ trust on 5% yield would give 5 million PA - under California taxes atm (according to ChatGPT) this would give 2.14 million after tax (gulp). So in order to hve the 6 million estimated running costs for their life (on the low side) then Harry would need a trust with an initial investment value of $300 million.
I can’t see that -can you??
The Late Queen and then The King used to (by ‘sources’ ) give Andrew £250,000 allowance PA. This won’t even touch the sides. It’s not even two months security cost!!

Honestly daisy I do think Harry is that stupid! His own history teacher commented that he just wasn’t interested in knowing anything about his history or family! And he is still labouring under the delusion that his father being king can overturn decisions by a court of law and the government!

MrsLeonFarrell · 01/07/2026 22:21

I agree that Harry didn't give Meghan the full picture of what she was signing up for. Probably because when he did that with previous girlfriends they scarpered pretty quickly. Can't really blame them as it isn't an easy life, even with a partner who helps you adjust, which Harry clearly didn't.

For every lie ( misdirection if being kind !) that Harry told , Meghan told 3 ! , she is not some delicate flower! , although I don’t believe in blaming women for the actions of men , I do believe that these two are equally culpable!

I agree. He is that stupid. The man has absolutely no intellect. Never had any interest in educating himself. Blabbers publicly about subjects which are factually incorrect.

Maybe I’ve credited him with more intelligence than he is due.
I just thought he was dim.
I didn’t realise he is really REALLY stupid!!
Honestly sometimes the RF must be glad they are shot of him.

I think Harry didn't ever understand how abnormal his life was so he had no idea what things Meghan would find weird. And she was so busy love bombing him and saying that paparazzi were after her that there was no time for a sensible conversation.

Yes that’s the day he is hosting an IG event at Chatham House on St James Square - as shared on Twitter by one of the SS who has been invited.

Will be a very interesting week!

What will event entail?? It's such a pointless exercise. He's so arrogant, he probably believes he will win

Blimey! even an inheritance of £100 million won’t be enough to cover their costs, no wonder they are panicking and crawling back to Daddy Warbucks.

And I think that we can conclude that the current spares PA, AMW, PE don’t give any indication of having inherited anything like. £300m each - AMW couldn’t even lay his hands on £13m to silence VG - QE2 had to sort that out.

If they have zero revenue streams and can’t afford security - will they rock back up at a royal facility in UK with 24/7 armed guards as non working RF?

I certainly believed that of Meghan during her brief spell in the UK, fantom - as in manufacturing offence so she could blame others for being racist and get the return to LA which she wanted all along

I admit to be surprised that she continued it when she got there though, so maybe it really is the only way she knows to behave

I whole heartedly agree with you Puzzled, back then I stupidly thought they'd settle down to whatever the fuck it was they caused so much fuss over.. I blame toddler brain 😆But yeah it really does seem like this is her only mode, just an absolute troublemaking weapon always looking for offense

As others have said previously on here over the years, she'd make a fascinating psychological case study in years to come when things have to to their inevitable conclusion, whatever that may be

When H was charging quite a hefty fee to view

You got a free copy of 'Spare' though...

I'm still utterly convinced the publishers got their greedy little maulers burnt on that deal 🤑

I'd love to know! I mean according to many sources it was fastest selling autobiography of all times but then he was paid such a huge sum so it would be so interesting to know the actual figures when it all came down to brass tacks

By all accounts it's one of those books that always gets left behind at hotels & is always found in charity shops so it's not really going to be one of those always found in the best sellers for years to come or even the months following

Agree. It really is extraordinary how much trouble one mischievous woman fuelled by ambition and spite can cause. I couldn’t think of any historical woman who has simultaneously achieved so much and so little, relentless in her machinations whilst unable to stick with any plan long enough to fulfill expectations.

Quite a few women have married up/in and taken over but they have generally had real determination and intelligence enabling them to achieve more than mere notoriety.

She shares some traits of Catherine the Great (as reported by the British ambassador) : “ while she possesses in a high degree the weaknesses vulgarly attributed to her sex—love of flattery, and its inseparable companion, vanity; an inattention to unpleasant but salutary advice; “.

But Catherine wouldn’t have achieved greatness without some intelligent use of her power, expanding the Russian empire, building new cities and universities and modernising some aspects of Russian society.

I really can’t think of anyone quite like her. She certainly is much like Undine Spragg in many ways, and like her is destined never to be happy with her lot. But whilst Undine could be unkind, heartless even, she wasn’t spiteful and fuelled by a desire for revenge.

I don’t believe she’ll ever leave Harry for the simple reason she has aged out (and has too much baggage) and passed the time when she might have hooked a careless billionaire. Harry (and all of us and the Royal family) are stuck with her.

Scorchio84 · 02/07/2026 04:37

Love this @ShamedBySiri I'm currently reading "The Custom of the Country" having heard so much about it from you & other posters on here for so long, & so far so spot on! 😆

As for divorce, I think you might be right too about her aging out of her "next big catch" which is sad really to be thinking of someone in those unpleasant terms but in fairness it's been her behaviour has brought us all to this place
