I think Meghan just winds him up and sets him off like a toy.

I increasingly think that both of them, but perhaps M in particular, get it wrong on purpose: to cause drama, chaos and talking points. I can't understand how they manage to mess things up so spectacularly and consistently, if it's not done deliberately.

I certainly believed that of Meghan during her brief spell in the UK, fantom - as in manufacturing offence so she could blame others for being racist and get the return to LA which she wanted all along

I admit to be surprised that she continued it when she got there though, so maybe it really is the only way she knows to behave

are notorious for inducing psychosis!

Ayahuasca?

Psychedelic properties said to be similar to LSD, class A in UK where just possessing it can carry a seven year term and/or unlimited fine.

Guess IPP status would get around all that inconvenience though...

You got a free copy of 'Spare' though...

I'm still utterly convinced the publishers got their greedy little maulers burnt on that deal 🤑

I'm inclined to agree. It's so bad.

This. They both thrive on chaos, drama and seem hellbent on causing huge embarrassment to the RF.

Both of them naturally assume a huge inheritance coming their way when KC passes away. Neither of them have a clue how the RF works so they assume they have this safety net

Was it meant to be a punishment or a reward? :)

I confess I've never read it, a friend did and said it made her feel icky, as if she was reading private stuff that should remain so.

It's a very strange book, in parts unpleasant, in parts unintentionally funny, in parts a fantasy. You can see when the ghost writer is clearly struggling. (His account of the experience is interesting).

I don’t think Harry is that clueless.
Im sure he is fully aware that monarchs tie money up in trusts for their children & grandchildren so it’s not subject to any IHT and could run the risk of having figures leaked.
It’s what the Queen Mother, Prince Philip and QEII did -so he cannot be utterly unaware.
I think Meghan may be unaware though. I’m starting to think he lies to her or feigns ignorance about various aspects of Royal Life.
There is no way that the King will be leaving a huge cash inheritance to Harry.
No way at all. It will be tied up tighter than a sailors knot.
I think Harry knows this but he is too scared to tell Meghan - it’s not like she has anybody within the family she can ask either can she.
There will be (I’m sure) a trust from The King with Harry’s name on but considering Andrew didn’t have enough to run Royal lodge I’m going to go out on a limb here and say Harry’s trust will not be paying anywhere near the 10million $ he needs a year to live (security, mortgage , income taxes, property taxes, household cost, staff, schooling, day to day expenses, travel, clothes etc etc).
A 100 million $ trust on 5% yield would give 5 million PA - under California taxes atm (according to ChatGPT) this would give 2.14 million after tax (gulp). So in order to hve the 6 million estimated running costs for their life (on the low side) then Harry would need a trust with an initial investment value of $300 million.
I can’t see that -can you??
The Late Queen and then The King used to (by ‘sources’ ) give Andrew £250,000 allowance PA. This won’t even touch the sides. It’s not even two months security cost!!

OctopusFriend · 01/07/2026 21:20

I think he lied a lot to Meghan about his role in the RF. He must have known that they would never share the Duchy of Cornwall, never share the Crown with William and Catherine, and never take a more senior role.
Straight away she was asking for free items, before the MIGS stepped in and put a stop to it. He knew they weren't allowed to do that. He sold her a fantasy imo.

I think this too. I think he couldn’t believe such a beautiful and dazzling woman (to him) was interested and he glossed over the realities of royal life so she wasn’t put off.

I agree.

OctopusFriend · 01/07/2026 21:28

I also think he promised her the Spencer tiara for the wedding, which Diana wore on her wedding day, assuming Charles Spencer would allow it.
You can tell that her veil was designed to complement that scalloped tiara, rather than the straight one she wore.
I suspect that's what part of the tiara furore was about.

That's an interesting take. We'll probably never know.

Starryfifty · 01/07/2026 21:39

Meg did her research. Even wearing Diana's favourite scent is just downright creepy. She had no intention of staying in the RF.

ShamedBySiri · 01/07/2026 21:43

Meanwhile Emma Thynn is at Wimbledon looking gorgeous and sitting with Serena’s family, not being ignored! 😉
She looked gorgeous in white and her outfit had some of the themes Meghan likes - off the shoulder and trailing on the ground but she carries it off beautifully, she has such an abundance of natural glamour.

So do you think Charles Spencer said no?
If he did I can understand it. Only Spencer women wear it or women marrying Spencer men (like when he married Victoria Lockwood).
Harry isn’t a Spencer.
It’s never occurred to me re the scalloped edge of the utterly ridiculous
veil.
The excuse Harry made (was it in spare?) re checking the provenance of the diamonds in the tiara she wore never ever made any sense at all to me. There was nothing ‘dodgy’ about the history of it at all. I think I know more than he does about the RF jewellry collection (I’m a tad obsessed ).

Not everyone has a book in then, even if they do seem to have lived a life that should, theoretically, be interesting to read about.

I agree that Harry didn't give Meghan the full picture of what she was signing up for. Probably because when he did that with previous girlfriends they scarpered pretty quickly. Can't really blame them as it isn't an easy life, even with a partner who helps you adjust, which Harry clearly didn't.

But surely he must have had gorgeous women throwing themselves at him all the time?

I remember reading a bit in Spare where Harry says something like his Dad and William wouldn't believe what a gorgeous woman he had partnered up with (Megan)...and I thought that was odd as shouldn't he have been meeting beautiful women all the time?!

Blimey! even an inheritance of £100 million won’t be enough to cover their costs, no wonder they are panicking and crawling back to Daddy Warbucks.

I honestly think Harry expected William to be jealous that he was dating a hot actress from a TV show (OK it was a late night show on the laddish "Dave" channel) and who also (apparently 🙄) was a humanitarian who loved Africa and camping ..... 🙄

I don't believe for a second William said anything. Look at his own wife ! H seems to be so juvenile. Teenage boy bragging about getting the hot girl. Pity he didn't know he was been played like an absolute fool
