This is why I think the money the government is donating feels ‘muggy’.
The games cost in excess of £65 million.
Around 550 vets took part in Canada, 64 were British.
They all had to pay their own way, pay for accommodation and pay for tickets for their families.

So WHERE is the £60+ million going???
This works out at £118,000 PER PERSON -but the competitors have to pay for themselves.
So where is the money going??

Bloody hell, those sums! Where the heck is the money going if it's not going to the competitors? Why isn't the Charity Commission looking into it?

I wonder if there are a fee/stipend/honorarium as well as some eyebrow-raising expenses somewhere being redacted?

It has been posted elsewhere but I think if you google Rachel the Pilot - she has made a stab at trying to make sense of the IG finances. & it's a decent stab - she has to guess certain things but she shows her workings. I think it's on you tube.
Anyone who knows better how to point to this please help me out here. 😊

Harry could pitch a chat show to Netflix where he interviews celebrities in a black cab. He could get Putin and Trump in the same cab to explain why they are sociopaths with the child locks engaged

Might I add the US is now suffering from wildfires, floods, and extreme heat. Harry and family are safer in BP since I am sure that California will also be hit with floods and wild fires.

Remember; privacy is something Harry demands for himself, he doesn't respect it for other people, and in fact will exploit and monetise it.

He blatantly lied on his visa about drug use. Basically admitted it in Spare and I have absolutely no doubt he's on a fairly hefty cocktail on a daily basis now

I have to say I'm not really a RF mega fan, but everything I ever read about Catherine just makes her sound...lovely. I really don't understand why she gets such poisonous vitriol aimed at her.

If you type in Rachel The Curious Pilot into YouTube, all of her videos relating to her detailed research into both Archewell and Invictus will come up, there's lots of them as she uncovers more information.
She's an ex financier, turned airline pilot but with a continuing interest in business, especially charities. She's done some amazing work trying to get answers, a real deep dive including FOI requests and responses. She's been hindered, unsurprisingly, on some/many of her queries but isn't giving up and is pretty determined. Her findings, particularly on 'expenses' are shocking.

I think I read somewhere that the Royal British Legion sponsors some/all of the UK competitors - I don't know if IG pays for some of the veterans with less support?

The UK (Rishi Sunak) government pledged £26 million to bring IG to Birmingham and the rest was meant to be private sponsorship but recently I read that only £4 million had been pledged. The biggest sponsor - Boeing has pulled out of their sponsorship deal. I think this is part of the Sussex desperation for reconciliation with the royals as the "Harry and Meghan show" is turning off sponsors and the organizers had hoped that Harry would deliver the King and Prince of Wales who both attended the inaugural games.

A really good audit of the accounts is needed - are Harry and Meghan really charging the rumoured private jets, outfit changes and several floors of 5* hotels for themselves and their entourage to the charity??

Why have the costs become so bloated? The US version, the Warrior Games, costs about £4 million

For comparison the 2014 games cost £1.5 million plus some freebee sponsorship
-£500K from William, Catherine and Harry's Royal Foundation
-£500K from the Department of Culture, Media and Sport
-£500K from banking fines (via the Treasury)
In addition the London Olympic Legacy fund waived venue fees and London Transport sponsored free Oyster cards.

I wonder if Harry is worried 'his' charities will sack him off and then the revenue stream will end? It's quite astonishing that the accounts are not examined and there appears to be no accountability. It makes me think of Peter Murrell.

I think this must be a concern as he has already lost Sentebale (who are suing him) and Africa Parks is a disaster, which only leaves him with a few smaller Diana charities.

Hugh Grant, who is associated with Hacked Off, which funded the campaign to bring the case (using Max Mosley's money), is having meetings with Andy Burnham with the aim of bringing forward legislation to restrict the freedom of the press.

Is this the same Hugh Grant who got caught 'n' splashed getting Divinely 'serviced'?

I wouldn't really expect less.

As an aside while I kept the papers from the day each dc was born, youngest was born the day before the story broke.

IIRC the terms on the IG website are that the competitors and up to two family members have accommodation and food costs fully met.

I think the questions lie around the rest of the costs.

I don't think H worries about anything tbh. He has rightly pissed off the RF now. He'll be lucky to have KC next to him at Ingruftus, never mind KW

24% was spent on (undetailed) security, accommodation and " side events".

The vets didn't get security and accommodation.

10M and no-one can find out what for.
