He had a fatwa placed on him which - basically - meant the entire religion of Islam demanded he face the death penalty Can't get a bigger threat, really 😕

I know. How can he honestly compare himself? This is just absurd. If he is so worried, why did his wife leave herself out in the open in Geneva???

Lunde · 30/06/2026 12:15

Wasn't this one of the breaking points for the Met when they decamped to Canada? That they didn't just want security, they were demanding full security details separately for Harry, Meghan and Archie who were each in different countries?

I believe so! And of course treating them like servants and sending them out for coffee!

Starryfifty · 30/06/2026 12:22

Lunde · 30/06/2026 12:07

More likely strategizing at Elton John's villa in France on PR strategies when the ANL verdict comes in!

If Elton J has any sense, he'll distance himself from these grifters

garlicandsapphires · 30/06/2026 12:27

OctopusFriend · 30/06/2026 12:12

That's really the worst part. Someone like him demanding taxpayers money, when he doesn't even live here, never mind work here. Saving his own lucre.
That's some entitlement.

I suppose (playing devils advocate) that H would say that although he is a private citizen, he is still a member of the RF and always will be. That it’s both an institution (that he no longer works for) and a family (that he is still part of)
Of course, he should act like the private citizen he is, live a quiet life, stop the quasi royal tours. Then he wouldn’t need security.

The comparison with SR is an absolute joke.

Or trying to tap Elton for a loan perhaps ... ? Grin

BigWillyLittleTodger · 30/06/2026 12:17

This has gone beyond entertainment now, how dare he compare himself to SR, how dare he use MY TAX MONEY to stroke his overgrown ego, particularly when he pays fuck all tax in this country himself. Harry, just fuck off, permanently.

I completely agree with this. I am now very "how very DARE THEY?" about this.

Dontwearmysocks · 30/06/2026 12:35

There are no new episodes of their treatment by the wider family, because the wider family are refusing to play.

@MyDogClive this is it in a nutshell. They are being held at arms length so there is no more gossip to sell to Netflix, no photos to punt on the 'gram. Looking less Royal as the months pass. H&M must hate this

Just grey rocking by the RF. They've played a blinder so far, but I fear Charles is a bit weak on this - understandable. Bet Camilla is a real asset here as far as not letting him get played...

Strawberriesandcaviar · 30/06/2026 12:39

What would we all like to happen, in a perfect world? For me:

Ingriftus should sack Harry
H&M should not come back to the UK, ever 🙏
The UK taxpayers don't have to pay for anything ever again, ever 🙏
Especially for vexatious court cases which uses public money 🙏
They STFU and live quiet, happy lives

I don't even give a shit if Harry and his father reconcile, I just want them to stop demanding the UK taxpayer subsidise them.

Men can be very stubborn especially when their wife/ partner has been attacked and in public.

Strawberriesandcaviar · 30/06/2026 12:44

Also, the Royal Family are playing an absolute BLINDER here. They should continue to refuse to comment on the bullshit emanating from Monteshitshow.

Charles, was statesmanlike in the US, carrying on with life
Camilla, ditto, supporting women's causes
William, commenting on QE's memorial, watching Aston Villa win
Catherine, climbing mountains for good causes
George, low key visits and photos
Sophie, quietly doing good work, ditto Anne

It has been such a brilliant strategy, not to engage with H&M's bullshit, well played indeed.

I'm not sure if it was a fatwa? Don't you understand all of us in the West are at threat from these people? Harry of all people is less likely to get caught up in any indiscriminate act.

RAVEC will have fully assessed that probability. Just because Harry wants full armed protection doesn't mean he can claim stuff to back it up, it's not his choice to make.

In February 1989, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, the Supreme Leader of Iran, issued a fatwa (religious ruling) calling for the execution of author Salman Rushdie and his publishers. The decree was a response to his novel The Satanic Verses, which large parts of the Muslim community deemed blasphemous from Wikipedia

MrsLeonFarrell · 30/06/2026 13:07

If the risk follows the person maybe the person should stop advertising where he, a private citizen, is going to be?

Harry obviously still believes that he is at risk because of his birth. He doesn't realise that his security is already appropriate and proportionate.

Too true. Harry and his fans always seem to think they know better than the professional intelligence officers and protection squad, don't they? He cannot judge his own risk, nor can a fan posting on MN.

Starryfifty · 30/06/2026 13:18

He, his wife and kids could have had a lovely time, instead, his children will be denied a chance to meet their grandfather. What rotten, selfish parents they are. They honestly never think beyond their own selfish needs

bluegreygreen · 30/06/2026 13:21

Agree @Puzzledandpissedoff, re Invictus.

I had hoped with the appointment of the new trustees a few months ago that things would change, but apparently not yet.

Maybe this round of adverse PR will be a trigger?

bluegreygreen · 30/06/2026 13:22

Being frequently exposed to this kind of parental drama during childhood really can lead to excessive wear and tear of people’s stress response systems, and that can lead to all kinds of issues later in life. And H knows this.

It's sad that Harry seems likely, unless he does some work and changes significantly, to repeat the pattern set by his mother with his own children.

DaisyDooley · 30/06/2026 13:23

Few things I have thought of.
I don’t believe for a second they have bought a 6.3 million villa in Portugal.
If they had that much spare cash wouldn’t they have done up the Olive Garden house? Also -I don’t think Meghan likes anywhere apart from California.

I keep thinking of a quote attributed to Princess Beatrice “Daddy loves Mummy more than Mummy loves Daddy. Mummy lives for her title (and if Daddy remarries she loose it)”.
I think this is true for H & M.

If Invictus can’t ‘find’ the extra £30 ish million they need to run next years event (along with the £26 million promised by the last government from us muggy taxpayers ) will it hve to be cancelled? Surely the government won’t donate the rest? How can any ‘event’ justify an operating cost of £120k per competitor ?(especially considering the competitors travel costs etc are self funded!) It would be cheaper to give everyone £50k to stay at home!

BasiliskStare · 30/06/2026 13:23

Oh I think M& the children will come over. But happy to be proven wrong.

@MrsLeonFarrell "He doesn't realise that his security is already appropriate and proportionate." I agree with you. In fact I would go so far as to say the security he has been given is beyond reasonable and appropriate for a non working member of the RF. I think he's up on the deal. But - none as blind as will not see. 😊

I don't mind being a 'muggy taxpayer' to support veterans in a sporting event that draws attention to the consequences of being injured in combat. Taxpayer money is used to support lots of good causes, after all. Trouble is, the only thing Invictus draws attention to now is H and M and we can't be sure where our money goes.

Mylovelygreendress · 30/06/2026 13:32

corblimeygvnr · 30/06/2026 10:45

You also have to think about the Invictus participants. Some of these people lead incredibly difficult lives yet all they see is this clown bleating endlessly about the protection he and his family need in the UK. They must be sick to their back teeth of it.

DH and I know a couple of veterans who have participated in Invictus but refuse to be involved now solely down to H and M .

I think they have to come for the brand. She'll need to update her instagram. Lili and Archie meeting their grandfather the king 🙄🙄

Starryfifty · 30/06/2026 11:53

I think they demanded 24 hour armed security as they fully intended to "royal walkabouts" in the UK, kids included. H doesn't give a damn about security. It's all about the bells and whistles. I really hope he doesn't get this

I agree - but I think they just wanted the blaze of a security cavalcade screeching around London for filming purposes for NF - I expect they have storyboarded them careering around Piccadilly Circus in a Trumpian convoy. This is only for the $$$$. I don’t believe for a moment they have real concerns for their personal security.

I am laughing at PH considering all possibilities to get A&L to the UK - I wonder if he has considered a submarine up the Thames docking at Windsor?
