Will they stay at Royal Lodge? I really hope it all works out for KC and to see his grandchildren would be lovely.

Harry is wearing a baby blue linen shirt and a black 'Invictus Australia' baseball cap. Meghan is wearing a darker blue and white striped shirt.

Harry and Meghan offered royal accommodation during UK visit

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are set to visit the UK with their children next month, for the first time since 2022.

No. He was married to Elizabeth Taylor.

Wasn’t that Mickey Mouse?

No that was Meghan Markle. Or was she married to Trevor Einhorn?

That's why I admire Keir Starmer and his wife. Their children's lives are totally private, they share nothing. Not even names and ages. They have outings and holidays, go to events, yet they share nothing. Nothing is leaked.
They are dignified and intelligent.
They're like the anti-Sussexes.

I didn’t even know he had a wife!! 🤣
( still not keen on him though!)

That's because they take security seriously.
They've had some pretty dreadful, genuinely awful threats. I think if that's the case, you don't share, and you certainly don't share all your details like Harry.

Didn’t two people try to burn his house down?

You can respect people, even if you don't like them.

Just to add to my previous post @Vivienesarches689

What’s not clear is why Harry is dissatisfied with the current arrangement of bespoke security for each visit. It can’t be to do with safety, as the level of threat is assessed each time.

Could be:

he doubts RAVEC’s competence at assessing threat and thinks he knows better

he thinks he’s at greater risk than he actually is, because he doesn’t have access to the relevant intelligence, nor the ability / experience to interpret it

he doesn’t feel he should have to give notice and would prefer armed police on standby just in case he turns up

he sees himself as equal in importance to William, so feels he should have whatever William gets

he wants security at all times (which he could have if he provided his own) but doesn’t want to pay for it

he thinks that if he’s judged to need 24/7 armed security here, other governments might also oblige, which would save him loads of money

he sees armed security as an important status symbol

he promised Meghan he would sort it

he wants to bring the children over but she won’t allow that without all the bells and whistles

he has made such a hoo hah about the UK being unsafe and the bespoke arrangement insufficient, if he accepted it now, he’d look like a right wally

he thinks 24/7 security looks very royal (although it doesn’t really, as hardly any of them get it and it tends to be discreet when they do) and he needs to keep up that royal image

he thinks his father could sort it (which he can’t) and sees his failure to do so as a personal slight

despite leaving the UK and not being a working royal, he thinks the UK taxpayers owe him this for his life of service, which apparently began at birth

he finds it difficult to understand and accept the inevitable change in circumstances which came from his decision to step down as a working royal and move overseas

There may be another explanation of course! Hopefully posters will add if I have forgotten anything.

Yes. They've had it far, far worse than Harry. Yet no whining, no constant complaining, no exaggerating for effect, and no details about what they've had for breakfast and what they're doing all the time.

PoppysAunt · 29/06/2026 19:33

Excellent points, @noonames. Good list.

But as I understand it, Harry’s statement seems to imply that the the promised up-to-date assessment hasn’t happened, so how can they judge this accurately?

You are correct - PH statement does IMPLY inadequate security not proportional for the ENTIRETY of the trip.

He is being very disingenuous here.

His security was deemed to be assessed on a trip by trip basis where he is required to give 28 days notice of his arrival and each time they would recalculate the risk level to decide if he needed round the clock armed security when outside of royal property. Each trip to date it has been determined that the current risk doesnt meet this threshold for 24/7 armed security. Including this time.

Most people would be delighted for themselves and their family that their risk of attack was not escalated to this degree.

In addition PH has traveled here many times already under this policy and has been happier to choose to stay in a less secure hotel rather than on armed royal property.

He and his family will get armed security on royal properties for this visit but he wants it for when they are out and about for the ENTIRETY of private and public excursions.

He has asked for another review which he is hoping will throw out the trip by trip assessment so that he has armed security on standby 24/7 in the UK - this review has been paused. It is not the case that he has no security for this trip or that his risk assessment has not been done.

He’s IMPLYING that of course and he is totally disingenuous / lying / and tantruming in an attempt to emotionally blackmail the UK Government by shouting at them via the US based People Magazine!!

I am reminded of the pizza delivery chap cycling innocently near H and M . The way they reacted was hilarious.
Also Meghan walking up and down the street outside the DM offices ( pre marriage)- no one bothered .
And M’s claims that she was harassed in her Toronto house - completely denied by Canadian Police Chief.
It was Catherine who was chased along the street and upskirted .

She has a weird fixation with Diana, who genuinely was harassed and stalked by paps (not that she didn't play games with them to her own advantage too).

But that's a different era. 'Paps' don't really exist in that way anymore. Besides, for all her faults, Diana was Princess of Wales and had genuine star quality. Meghan does not.

Comprehensive, but I'd add that it is one of the two last sticks he can use to beat his dad with.

Dad took my security away/wants my wife to come to harm.

The other being ( related to the security bleat) Dad won't make it possible for me to bring the kids to see him.

Ah yes, you’re right, security arrangements as a weapon and perhaps as a way of portraying himself as a victim, should have added that. What a charmer if either of those is the case. We’re paying for all these assessments and reviews!

It is more the narc rage thing.

"I won't be ignored, Dad!"

Dad has grey- rocked him for six years, H has lobbed grenade after grenade, no reaction. This is all he has left.
