Yes, tongue in cheek given that a) he wasn't invited to Peter's wedding because nobody likes him, b) he has committed far worse breaches of privacy himself and c) the dictionary definition of hypocrisy is now apparently a picture of Harry 😀

😂

I believe I read during his speech at the lunch or whatever they had after the Coronation, Charles made a special point of mentioning Archie's birthday and asked the guests to wish him a Happy Birthday with a toast.

Of course he did, because KC is a decent, kind and courteous human being.
Something that Harry could reflect on, if he only had that ability.

Yeah, that’s a big pile of shite, isn’t it.

“The Duchess has always been clear that there is a distinction between sharing moments from her life and exposing her children to public scrutiny,” her spokesperson told Newsweek. “By obscuring their faces, she is demonstrating the very principle she advocates for: giving children privacy, agency, and protection in an increasingly digital world.”

That sounds both likely and sweet. Unfortunately Harry wasn't at the lunch or whatever it was because about 20 minutes after the end of the service he was heading for Heathrow.

I did think that the powers that be didn't actually HAVE to pick the day of Archie's birthday - a week either way wouldn't have made much difference - but I guess for us plebs it did mean a nice long weekend, which is possibly more important than the birthday of a six year old on the other side of the Atlantic.

Of course, Harry had no idea that the date of the Coronation was decided by Parliament.
He probably doesn't know what Parliament is.

All I can remember is how he swaggered in, only to be stuck behind the huge red plume on Anne’s hat. If I ever open a pub, I will call it the Plume and Candle. We’ll offer a nice cheeseboard without a flower sprinkle in sight!

That swagger down the aisle. Awful. He had some cheek after everything he'd done.

NotTalkinBoutTheLinen · 22/06/2026 15:44

That plume should have a proper name. It made global headlines. What do you think Princess Anne would call it?

“The Princess Royal had warned Coronation organisers that a feather, which made global headlines on the day after obscuring Prince Harry’s face, was “quite a decent-sized hat” but was told to wear it anyway…”

She’ll come with a pantechnicon of clothing to merch by having god knows how many clothes changes in as many places as possible.

Audrey or Margo. Or the name of anyone played by a marvellously haughty Penelope Keith.

I actually genuinely think that Eurovision, which was hosted by Liverpool the following weekend, would have had more of an impact. Plus all the extra May Bank Holidays, more than usual influx of foreign visitors etc.

Well, it's a bit late now. Parliament made that decision, weighing up many factors.
