Royal Ascot 2026 - Carriage Lists

I’ve done this for the last few years but wanted to see if there was still interest?

I work in racing and am on the media circulation list for all the Royal Ascot press releases throughout the meeting. They send out the carriage lists at midday each day so if people are interested I’m happy to pop it up for discussion.

The Royal Procession is at 2pm each day (Tuesday-Saturday) and you can watch on ITV.

Nowt wrong with black. It shows a step in a modern direction for them.

same with trousers and the non-nude nail polishes.

Some of QEII’s things were good ideas (the bright colour to be seen in a crowd is definitely a good one), but no black was definitely outdated.

It’s black! You can get shades of black hence it looking slightly different to the jacket.

Do you know, I frankly don’t care. Thanks to the op - it’s been an enjoyable thread. But I’m out.

Carriage 1
Prince Saud, Saudi royal family and son of the late Prince Khalid who established the renowned Juddmonte racing/breeding operation.
John Warren - racing manager to the King (and also the late Queen) - side note, he’s a thoroughly obnoxious human being!

Carriage 2
Lady Lloyd Webber runs Watership Down Stud and has bred/raced some very good horses over the years. ALW just pays for it all and turns up at the races 😜

Carriage 3
Ciaron Maher is an Australian racehorse trainer. Eileen is his mum!
Ed Walker is a British racehorse trainer, Mrs is Camilla, his wife.

I’ll say it once more for those that might have missed it: these days you choose what is written on your name badge. You are not forced either way, it is entirely personal preference.

It was his predecessor, Andrew Parker, who we saw breaking his staff over the Queen's coffin at her funeral. Though he did continue in office for a while in the new reign, and was involved in organising the Coronation.

“Rat Face” is what one of my old colleagues used to call him - her ex-husband had worked for him.

I knew his old PA after she left his employment - she was a lovely but formidable lady. She was with him for 15 years but he upped sticks to move back to Berkshire and she didn’t want to leave Newmarket. She told me he had a foul temper with everyone but her - he didn’t dare! She also said it was not uncommon to get a Christmas Bonus of £10k+, so working for him had some upsides.

After her he went through at least 3 PAs in about 18 months!

Not some of these second class citizens, clearly. I think it’s an absolute embarrassment. Have they not realised it’s 2026?

At one time it was her hat. Angela Kelly wrote about it in her book. Apparently at one time they thought there was a mole leaking the information in advance, so she prepared a decoy.

They could make it the King's waistcoat - I think he's worn a different colour every day.
