Royal Ascot 2026 - Carriage Lists

I’ve done this for the last few years but wanted to see if there was still interest?

I work in racing and am on the media circulation list for all the Royal Ascot press releases throughout the meeting. They send out the carriage lists at midday each day so if people are interested I’m happy to pop it up for discussion.

The Royal Procession is at 2pm each day (Tuesday-Saturday) and you can watch on ITV.

I see the King has a blue waistcoat today. It was pale yellow yesterday. What will it be tomorrow? Pink?

The Prince Philip story is true! He hated racing, but loved the Queen so did it for her. He had his own little room off the Royal Box where he’d disappear to watch the cricket!

He came out for trophy presentations, to look at horses in the paddock, etc, but had no interest in the sport really.

It’s quite common in horsey people to look down on racing. They see it as “boring” but when you immerse yourself in pedigrees, the art of training, etc it’s utterly fascinating!

Thanks @CaveMum
I guess a whole week of it is a bit much for anyone who isn’t a staunch enthusiast. I don’t suppose The Queen talked about much else all week either, especially if she had runners.

Gorgeous dress, I love the colour.

MeetMeOnTheCorner · 17/06/2026 17:57

@CaveMum I certainly saw him leave with the Queen and be in the parade ring. He wasn’t thst horsey! Not like her. He preferred carriage driving. However even the most jaded person can enjoy looking at a few million £/$ of thoroughbreds! He had plenty of other people to talk to!

MaggieFS · 17/06/2026 21:53

Well I’ve wasted far too much time looking at clips and photos on the internet, and aside from the first two carriages, and the odd photo of Anne and the Edinburghs, there are very few photos from today, from what I can see. Just the Wales from every possible angle.

CaveMum · 17/06/2026 22:31

@MaggieFS if you put ITVX on you can watch it back. The carriage procession is half an hour into the programme.

I don’t think there are as many photos as usual. The Telegraph has some but one not paid. Hello has a few. There was definitely more of a buzz today as the carriages were more interesting!

Marvellous, thank you for that. I shall do that tomorrow.

Carole Middleton looks good, as usual.

Her daughter in law seems to have been aiming for 'posh Edwardian lady' but ended up with '1900s Christian fundamentalist' chic instead.

Today’s carriages:

1st Carriage
The King
The Queen
The Earl of Snowdon
Ms Isabelle de la Bruyère

2nd Carriage
The Princess Royal
Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence
The Duke of Edinburgh
The Duchess of Edinburgh

3rd Carriage
Princess Zahra Aga Khan
HH Sheikh Hamad bin Abdullah Al Thani
Mrs Zara Tindall
Mr Willie Mullins

4th Carriage
Lord Cavendish
Lady Cavendish
Mr Stanley Tucci
Ms Felicity Blunt

Noting that Mike “Mr Zara” Tindall doesn’t get a spot today!

In with Zara is, just to confuse things, Princess Zahra, daughter of the late Aga Khan IV, a famed racehorse owner and breeder possibly best known to the wider world as the owner of Shergar but so much more than just the one horse.

Sheikh Al Thani is one of many Middle Eastern investors into racing from Qatar.

Willie Mullins is an Irish racehorse trainer, more known for his dominance of the Jump racing scene, but he does have some flat horses and in fact now trains a horse for the King and Queen - sadly he finished last in his race on Tuesday!

Nice to see Stanley Tucci and Felicity Blunt get their chance of some fun. I have a very vague connection to them in that a lady I worked with a very long time ago has a daughter who is an author, and FB is her agent. She (the daughter, not my ex-colleague) got to go to the wedding and was surrounded by the A++ List!

Quite a nice list today. Anne is getting several outings this week. Yes, Mike on the sidelines and no Mrs Willie Mullins. Usually trainers are with their wives. William and Maureen Haggas and John Gosden and Rachel Hood earlier in the week. Seems a bit odd to have no Mrs Mullins.

Im maybe a bit miserable about this, but the Queen is getting a bit stuck on pastels and mostly cream/off white. I would like to see her at Ascot in stronger colours. Not advocating buttercup yellow but the off whites look a bit washed out.

HoldMyWine · 18/06/2026 12:54

Oh I’ll be looking to see what Isabelle wears as I liked her outfit at Peter Philip’s wedding. Also to see Stanley , swoon

MaggieFS · 18/06/2026 12:59

I wonder if perhaps Mrs Willie Mullins was invited but had to decline so they asked Zara to hop in! Further to earlier chat, it is excellent to see her on the official list as Mrs Zara not Mrs Michael.

Any particular connection for the Cavendishes, other than being a lord and lady?

JustAnotherWhinger · 18/06/2026 13:01

Interesting to see that there is no Mike with Zara, I wonder if he’ll be there at all. I think when Anne was without Tim earlier in the week he wasn’t there at all.

Also intersting that and us Mrs Zara rather than Mrs Michael this year. Felicity Blunt is also Mrs Stanley Tucci so definitely a good few examples of ladies in their own names this year.

Seems a bit odd to have Anne & Tim, and Edward & Sophie in one carriage rather than spread out among the guests.

CaveMum · 18/06/2026 13:40

I’m sure Mike is there, the lunch party at Windsor is usually about 40 people and they pick who will be going in the carriages from there - my old boss got a carriage ride when the Royal Meeting was at York due to the renovation of the stand at Ascot 20-odd years ago.

Ben Elliot was in the carriage the other day without his wife. I wonder if there is just a slightly more relaxed attitude toward it, similar to the names.

I wouldn’t want to clamber in and out of a carriage, in a dress and heels, live on tv, but DH would love it.

HelenaWilson · 18/06/2026 13:58

......but DH would love it.

In a dress and heels? 😁

The absent spouses may just have other commitments. If any of them work for he nhs, they're probably chained up in the hospital basement, as per the other thread.

CaveMum · 18/06/2026 13:59

Procession coming up live on ITV in a minute.

Camilla in cream again. Isabelle in cream as well.

Do you get the seat in that carriage if you match Camilla’s colour choice? 😂

CaveMum · 18/06/2026 14:02

@MeetMeOnTheCorner sorry but looks like the Queen is in white/cream again.

OP posts:
JustAnotherWhinger · 18/06/2026 14:04

Sophie in navy and Anne in a peach/orange patterned coat with cream accessories.

Zara is in cream as well.

CaveMum · 18/06/2026 14:05

Zara’s carriage definitely looks like a fun one judging by the laughing going on!

Same for carriage 4.

Lady Cavendish was a school friend of Camilla’s they’ve just said
