Meghan and Harry the grift that keeps on grifting. Long may they continue. Better than any soap opera on the telly.

Iced, I’m guessing she still thinks she’s right and the royals are wrong. Facts and evidence (like financial accounts) are for other people.

H&M bleat about privacy while seeking the spotlight, but most parents in the Montecito area want actual privacy for their children. Many parents who are far more famous and far wealthier than H&M are genuinely security conscious so refrain from posting school pictures publicly but likely have some in their personal records.

I expect that parents would adhere to privacy standards to safeguard all the children at school including obeying strict picture taking and posting rules as it creates a safer environment for all the kids.

I really could not agree more with you . My ds went to a junior school where a famous person sent their child. There were photos of that child in the uniform in the local press. Oh how badly that went down. (& I'm not talking billionaires here - just people who would rather their children's school uniform wasn't in photos in newspapers - it was a long time ago so it would have been MSM not SM. ) However I think the idea is the same - you don't expect other parents to make photos of your child available. Also if your want you own child's privacy respected you would avoid having photos taken with other people's children. Or in a childrens' hospita whilst flogging your outfit l etc etc.

But as a previous poster said , who knows what goes on the Sussex mind. They really seem to be able to square a circle which many others can't.

You could be right, KnickerlessParsons; I don't pretend to know either way but it would certainly get round the issue of other parents possibly taking pictures

Whether home schooling would be in the kids' best interests is another matter though - especially kids who've been separated from so much already

tbh most parents are very respectful of famous children when they’re in their private life. For example, PG and PC play sport for her school at all the big competitions … hockey, netball, football etc… and you never see pics from parents of this online. I’m sure people do, but I’ve never seen any shared and I don’t think the papers will publish them these days even if they were sent them.

The Wales children, despite one of them literally being the future king, are clearly well able to live normal lives without being hounded by the press and the supposedly awful British public. Something harry and meghan claim is impossible for them. Doesn't make sense

Yet they couldn't sell pictures taken in California owing to the laws that protect children of celebrities from being harassed by being photographed/videoed

Interestingly the UK press hold the line as well - by all accounts William and Kate regularly attend their kids' events but nothing is ever printed in the press.

M said there was no way Archie could go to school in the U.K. as there would be about 50 paps waiting every day .
In her dreams.

Starryfifty · 13/06/2026 23:30

I hope to god those kids aren't homeschooled. However I remember Meg bleating how exhausting the school run is

MyAutumnCrow · 13/06/2026 23:54

All this is another reason why their story is so fascinating. There's something almost epic about it, almost like a modern version of Aesop's Fables. The cable TV actress who thought she could take on the crown and win. And now she's selling matches on the internet.

Something else that I find fascinating is that neither of them, I’m convinced, would know what Aesop’s Fables are without recourse to the internet; yet think of themselves as ‘global thought leaders’.

I’d love an interviewer to sit with these two ‘writers’ with their multi-book deal, and ask them properly about their literary interests and not soft soap it. Harry can only learn so many rehearsed lines.

There may be the first time but not afterwards. And how would the paps know the school?

my DCs were at school with or played against famous people’s DCs, no one took photos. It wasn’t the done thing.

Walking out of school one day with eldest chatting to a very tall dad and his dc to a waiting dh in the car, with him saying to me as we were going straight out
dh do you know who that is?
me Yes it’s X’s dad,
dh it’s famous footballer
me I couldn’t give a hoot
dh wish I’d got out of the car first
result as he did more pick ups when he was working from home

Not even on the first day.
There would be no paps. There is an agreement, children are protected. That's just another of her weird fantasies.

I agree. It's utter nonsense. The Wales family have chosen to do controlled photo opps when the children started school.
No-one ever sees them go to school, day to day.
Nor any other royal or royal adjacent child.
I really wish she wouldn't lie. I find that the worst thing, the constant lying about their lives and experiences and the UK.

LipglossAndLies · 14/06/2026 07:34

The accusation that Harry and Meghan "wanted privacy" but then made documentaries, gave interviews, and published a memoir is based on a misunderstanding of what they actually said.

First, Harry and Meghan never said they were leaving royal life to disappear from public view. In December 2022, their global press secretary explicitly stated that they had "never cited privacy as the reason for stepping back" and that this narrative had been distorted.

Their argument was about control, safety, and freedom from intrusive media practices not about becoming private citizens.

Second, privacy is not the same as secrecy. Every public figure draws boundaries between what they choose to share and what others are entitled to access. Meghan explained this clearly in her Oprah interview using the analogy of showing someone a single photo of your child without handing over your entire phone. Choosing to share some aspects of your life does not mean surrendering your right to keep everything else private.

The strongest proof that this principle is widely accepted comes from William and Catherine themselves.

In 2015, Kensington Palace formally thanked the media for agreeing not to publish unauthorized photographs of Prince George and Princess Charlotte. In return, William and Catherine would continue releasing official photographs of their children. This arrangement was explicitly described as a way to protect the children's private lives while still satisfying legitimate public interest.

Nobody argues that William and Catherine forfeited all privacy because they release birthday photographs. In fact, most people recognize the distinction: they voluntarily share selected images while rejecting paparazzi harassment and unauthorized surveillance.

Harry and Meghan are applying the same principle. They have chosen to tell their story through interviews, documentaries, podcasts, and books while objecting to invasive practices such as paparazzi pursuits, long-lens photography, drone surveillance, and unauthorized intrusion into their family life.

The real issue is not whether information is shared. Both couples share information. The issue is who decides what gets shared.

William and Catherine believe they should choose which photographs of their children become public rather than leaving that decision to paparazzi.
Harry and Meghan believe they should choose how and when to tell their story rather than allowing tabloids, anonymous sources, or intrusive photographers to define it for them.

Therefore, the claim that Harry and Meghan are hypocrites collapses because it relies on a false definition of privacy.

Privacy does not mean never speaking publicly. Privacy means retaining the agency to decide what parts of your life are public and what parts remain personal.

By that standard, Harry and Meghan's actions are entirely consistent with a principle that William and Catherine also practice.

Sharing a few pictures on their own terms is the exact type of privacy they want and have, both families. That is something that at least we should all be glad can happen given how badly the media have behaved in the past with Royal Family members. Finally something has changed and who here can say they don't agree with both of being able to draw the line on their own terms.

Just like we all do individually, some people like total privacy, some like to share some images of their lives including their children privately, some leave their accounts open for anyone to see. No one aize fits all when it comes to privacy.

If you habe a quote from H&M that says they wanted a private life that meant never sharing pictures or being seen feel free to quote it but from the interview to that statement that was released its clear what their version of private it and its similar to Williams and Kate (not many of you would argue they are wrong with their version of privacy).

She is one of the the worlds greatest liars, it’s started with her complaining about lack of security and being harassed by Paparazzi in Toronto, the Toronto police chief refuted it, saying something like ‘there are always people who are never happy’ 😂,he had her number right off the bat, even her neighbour is on camera being interviewed in the very early days saying he allowed the police park in his driveway. She also claimed neighbours were live-streaming her garden for payment.

I wonder if Harry has yet realised he is married to a mythomaniac (just learned the meaning of that word recently 😜)

Thedom · 14/06/2026 07:51

If only they respected the right for their own children to have the agency to do this. Pretty sure Archie would rather pictures of him in the bath and a full nappy were not shared publicly.

@LipglossAndLies- I think one of the main problems is that they have monetised the privacy and violated the security of others.
Spending your time sharing details and stories about loved ones' privacy and concucting lies about them isn't a great way to make money, imo.
Their choice.

Do you not see a problem with warning parents of the dangers of posting photos of children online, and then posting photos of your children? Or even worse, other people’s children, who never seem to have their faces hidden?

The comparison with the Waleses is dumb imo - those children have a constitutional role and are being gently prepared for a public life. W+C’s approach to sharing media of them is part of a much wider unwritten contract with the press and the UK population. Still, we know very little about them and their daily lives, quite rightly. It’s completely private, apart from three or four photos each year, and appearing at a few official events. They have certainly never shared photos of their children in the bath, for instance.

Archie and Lili have no constitutional significance and there is no need for any photos of them to be posted anywhere. It can’t be about controlling the narrative or undermining the paparazzi, because the weird teasing of their faces is presumably supposed to make or keep everyone interested, and they could perfectly well do what almost all celebrities do, which is simply not talk about their children much and never post images. They are cheap and tacky influencers, posting photos of children who can’t consent, to prop up interest in themselves and Meghan’s business. While simultaneously droning on about the dangers of social media and photos of children online. And the children will spend their lives with those photos and all the weird shit H+M say about them out there, completely unnecessarily. It’s completely up to them to decide whether or not to exploit their children’s images online for commercial gain, of course. But it is hypocritical to do that alongside their supposed stance of advocating for protecting children from online harm and respecting privacy.

My nephew is in the same kids youth league as the Rooney kids and other famous footballer children. Nobody photos the kids, although to his credit, Wayne Rooney was always very nice to all the excited kids wanting a picture with him.

Yes, I've said something similar.

The relevant comparison to the Sussex kids is not the Wales kids, but the York sisters' children. And we hardly ever see them, because we don't need to. Eugenie has shown the occasional back of head photos of her boys but Beatrice hasn't shared photos at all. Certainly neither has felt the need to post near weekly videos and photos, like Meghan does with her kids.

And no, obscuring their faces doesn't cancel this out.

Not2identifying · 14/06/2026 09:28

In January 2020, Harry attended an event alone where he gave a talk and said he had to leave to protect his family and said he wanted 'a peaceful life' (a comment that garnered much sympathy and support).

I would argue he'd be in a much better place now if he had lived a peaceful life but he hasn't:

  • OW interview
  • apple MH podcast
  • NF documentary
  • Spare
  • live therapy session with Gabor Mate
  • cosplaying royals on tour
  • court cases against the media
  • court cases against the Gov re security
  • etc

And it's notable that quite a few of these things were done without Meghan (who is often said to want the limelight but Harry can be just as bad).
