I found it's true. He's always trying to cast himself as the righteous hero in these stories. His ghost writer found as much.

Too late to edit: I doubt it's true.

I read the article and for once this doesn’t seem connected to a new clapback by Harry. Although the headline makes it seem that way, the substance is more about Harry being angry about the original Hello deal, and supposition that this is the cause of the rift that means the cousins aren’t close now. So I think the response from Harry is probably the one we heard via sources the other day - that he’s blaming meanie William for blocking his invite, rather than his own behaviour being the cause.

however reading the article, this paragraph stuck out to me:

“Harry loudly complained later that the first he knew of the debacle was when a copy of Hello! was delivered a few days later to Highgrove, his father's country home, and he saw it on the breakfast table.
Furiously, he tried to call Peter to have it out with him but his phone went straight to voicemail, he later said, as Peter had 'buggered off on honeymoon'. “

Assuming this is true - and if so I think it was absolutely crass and very poor form of Peter to arrange a magazine deal without informing the family in advance - it’s another good example of how selfish he is, that he tried to call Peter and have it out with him immediately, potentially causing a huge row or upset in the middle of his honeymoon. Most decent people - however upset - would wait and address the matter once the person was back from their honeymoon. But for Harry it’s all about his feelings and nothing else matters.

This para sounds BS. PH was only 23 then and doubt he made breakfast at HG as probs had a stonking hangover. I can’t see how ahead of QE2, PP, Charles, William etc PH would wade in on acceptable protocol.

Of course he wouldn't! It's utter nonsense.
In his head he fights the "press intrusion".
In his actual life he laps it up.

The very idea that a rag like Hello would land on the Highgrove is beyond hilarious!

I wonder if DM are printing any old pish for clicks as they know they have won the ANL case

It would fit the timetable of the judgement being circulated to the parties at the end of May.

Fingers crossed for some leaks...

Yep, just more of Harry's lies, you can't believe anything he says anymore 🤷

That is so funny about the jam....of course any present they give to anyone will be bloody jam and Aserver products. Oh I wish they could have gone - just for the drama!

I got married years ago and spent ages on my seating plans - I put a lot of thought into it and my very annoying sister in law (who is still annoying to this day) changed seat names around before the meal! She put herself next to people she wanted to talk to ...but put zero thought into other people she moved. A real Meghan move I reckon..

That's just so rude, isn't it? People spend ages on seating plans.

Don't most people "bugger off" on honeymoon straight after the wedding?

MrsLeonFarrell · 06/06/2026 11:42

I remember the Who ha over Peter selling his first wedding to Hello, but it was a different time and place.

Mike Tindall has Instagram but only seems to post corporate stuff or promotions for his podcast. The only minor royals who regularly post their children are Harry and Meghan, bastions of the fight against social media.

BasiliskStare · 06/06/2026 11:50

I had a v small wedding - not just by royal standards by any standards 😂It was lovely though - of course I would think so , but there really wasn't scope for drama.

I wonder , because I do see a fair few threads on MN re wedding invitations along the lines of "I/DH/DP/DCs have not been invited to ABC's wedding for XYZ reasons AIBU?"

I wonder what Harry's would be.
"My DW and our DCs have not been invited to my cousin's,thegroom's,wedding. AIBU?"
Further drip feeds "OK so I trashed my family in a global interview and a Netflix series , and in my widely published autobiography - but still? " "Oh and I have told anyone who will listen that this country is not safe for my family to visit - but AIBU? " "I may need my family adjacency because things aren't going as well for me financially as I thought - but surely none of these trump me being invited?" "My brother is a bully and royal men have always envied me marrying for love AIBU? "

Cue 98% YABU and a few "Surely this is a reverse - are you the groom?" 😂

Yes there was huge drama over selling their wedding to Hello - IIRC Peter got a scolding from QEII and the queen also banned the royal family from doing deals to appear in celebrity gossip magazines such as Hello, OK etc

There is a great irony that Harry huffed and puffed about the Hello deal - yet he and his wife seem to have US celebrity gossip magazines on speed dial (People etc). Indeed Meghan has managed to be "accidently" papped twice inside Buckingham Palace!

It's this level of hypocrisy which is just so entertaining! 😂

The bloke who allegedly wore a hidden microphone at his grandmother’s jubilee and funeral, and brought a Netflix crew to both, before bleating in Spare and to Omid Scobie that nobody would speak to him, has the cheek to complain about someone else’s relatively uncontroversial wedding photos? The same bloke who has made a public spectacle of himself outside many a nightclub and in Vegas, knowing photographers would be present. The same bloke who drunkenly threw women into a swimming pool at another family function. The same bloke who allowed his marriage proposal to be filmed and beamed across the world. The same bloke who revealed a private conversation with his brother and father after his grandfather’s funeral. And he’s the one who is taking the moral high ground and turning his nose up at a family function and characterising it as not being a safe space for him. He’s such a tool. Everyone there will be breathing that much more easily for his (sullen faced, sneering and drug addled) absence.

BillyBites · 06/06/2026 12:19

Someone mentioned up-thread about whether Harry's RAVEC security case had been settled. It was months ago now and I have a horrible feeling he got his way.

Good points.
Yes, I'm sure they're all relieved he's not attending.
They can actually relax and enjoy themselves.

I’ll add. The bloke who has just been photographed staring coquettishly at his friend at a polo match, by the same dial-a-pap Backgrid photographer that followed Thomas Markle Snr around pre wedding.

I wouldn’t have thought so as we would know all about it, my understanding is that it has remained the same, ie he has to notify of his intention to come to the UK in advance.

BasiliskStare · 06/06/2026 12:22

Wouldn't you think H instead of whinging about an invitation or lack thereof might just realise why he isn't and have sent a nice card and a small present to the bride and groom to wish them well. & I mean private , not subsequently reported in People magazine as "Harry's private gesture". He really , I think , has lost all grip on reality - if indeed he ever had it 😁

Also very easy (if not just DM clickbait) to turn down an invitation not extended to you. cf - Bezos wedding.

Yeah, who would want Harry at an event?

He'll be whining about their sekuridee even though the whole event will be locked down due to the presence of the future king and complaining that he didn't get the best accommodation. There'd be leaks to People magazine and Meghan will be setting up back of head photos of the children back in California.

Just not worth the drama. Same with the Duke of Westminster wedding a few years back. But it didn't have to be like this. The Sussexes could have had the best of both worlds, but now they're non-entities in both.

Exactly. I didn't blame the Westminsters. It's a classic, isn't it? It would be all about them.
William and Kate just arrived, very low key, straight into the church, no pausing for waves and photos because it's not all about them!

OP posts:
BasiliskStare · 06/06/2026 12:57

Exactly @IcedPurple - I think the Sussexes have become , as my granny might have said , a bit "uppity".

I also think to have good friends you need to be a good friend and I'm not sure H has quite grasped this and this is why some of his erstwhile friends don't seem to be evident. Now , I'm not naive enough to think that if some think the choice is between the future King and H some may make that choice accordingly. But with joint friends with his brother , I think H largely has himself to blame for being edged out a bit.
