You know at speeches time, they used to read out telegrams from people who couldn’t be there - of course telegrams don’t exist anymore so I’m not sure what the form is if people even bother to send messages anymore. I was going to say I wonder if they will read out Harry’s message…?😂

LondonRidge · 06/06/2026 07:00

Today’s DM article will go down like a bucket of sick! It screams of H “taking control of the narrative” … implying that his family are happy to sell themselves out to the highest bidder… because of course he’s above all that and that definitely wasn’t what he did with Netflix or spare at all, even though what he said in return for money has brought lifelong damage to his family relationships.

Saying he didn’t want to go anyway, when he’s clearly been left out… and now further undermining PP’s choice around how they use photos from today. It’s so tiresome, it must be utterly draining being H&M planning all these clap backs. And why on earth is the DM the one printing them??

The DM prints them because it generates outrage and outrage translates into clicks and revenue. They aren’t worried whether the reader buys the narrative as long as they read it.

And the readers aren’t fooled, you just have to read the comments.

edited to add I agree with your post.

RecoIIectionsMayVary · 06/06/2026 07:42

Now that is a very funny way to start my Saturday Morning - thank you 😂

Edited to add- do you think it is a clapback or just a DM reporter knowing they will get clicks

FenellaFeldman · 06/06/2026 07:49

It's just clickbait. Harry is very entertaining in that respect.

noonames · 06/06/2026 07:53

He was complaining five minutes ago that he hadn’t been invited and it was all William’s fault! 🤦‍♀️
In any case, what a twat to turn the focus, on the actual day of the ceremony, not just to himself but also Peter’s first wedding.

Dizzierblonde · 06/06/2026 07:53

It's all about clicks. However, even in a rag like DM, it's interesting what they reveal. The old pic of Zara and H at PPs first wedding - goodness, the difference is just stark. I don't recall a single picture from the past 5 years where H looked that happy and relaxed. Zara, in contrast, has plenty of recent pics that look just the same, suggesting she hasn't altered at all. There's a good reason why W&C have stayed close to the Philips clan - they are nice, fun and balanced people. Their children all seem lovely and appear to get on incredibly well with the Wales family. I'm betting it'll be a really fun wedding party today (and I bet H knows that too, hence all the snide stuff being released from Monteshitshow today).

I agree. Plus, the Phillips family have all given their children fairly standard names, and they don't monetise and exploit them.

Do Zara or Mike have social media? Do they post pictures of their kids?

It's odd how M^H can't see they are Anne or Edward, their kids are Zara and Peter. Yes we have a passing interest but they are not Charles, William or his children, and they know that and get on happily with their lives not whinging about it.

Someone mentioned it above and it's a good reminder: M didn't have social media 2 years ago.
It's easy to think they have to do this/ this is what they do/ what royals do.

But they didn't do it. They opted out. Then they made a deliberate decision to get back into social media. And to use their private life and children as content. And it was all to promote meghan and her pathetic brand.

Exploiting the children is a recent and deliberate step to sell themselves.

DryTerryandJUNE · 06/06/2026 06:25

LOL

That’s hilarious. More evidence that H is bitter and missing his old life.

ShamedBySiri · 06/06/2026 08:36

If Zara/Mike or Peter are on instagram etc I’ve never heard about it. Zara has some high profile horsey sponsorships but doesn’t actively sell herself as far as I know.

I was thinking how little we know about Peter - yes we see pictures of him at Royal events, he was wheeled out to walk between H&W at Prince Phillip’s funeral. But outside that (and the milk commercial) there is very little that we know of. For instance I’ve read an article telling quite a lot about Harriet & how she’s deeply religious. Is Peter a keen churchgoer? No idea (though I would expect a degree of shared values as they are getting married). We know quite a few of William’s lifelong friends who have been seen with him over the years. No idea who PP socialises with.
Anyway I think that’s great. He has very successfully navigated a limited public life and totally discrete private life.

Such a shame his cousin who used to be close to him didn’t get the message and follow his example.

It's sad really. It's one thing to move to your wife's country, another to cut ties with almost your entire extended family. As far as I know, Harry and William were closer to the Philips than to any other cousins and never had any falling out. And we know Harry thinks nothing at all of jetting off to the other side of the world, Travelyst (who?) be dammed. But instead he'll be sat sulking in California, with no real friends and no purpose in life.

This would have been a great opportunity to spend a few days in England, have his children get to know his family and learn about Britain. But he's blown it all up and I don't think there's any way back for him.

Lunde · 06/06/2026 08:52

DryTerryandJUNE · 06/06/2026 06:25

LOL

This is bizarre

Today the DM is using the narrative that Harry made the decision to miss the wedding because of his outrage at being photographed by Hello for profit 18 years ago (says the man who uses his kids to merch jam)

But yesterday it was William who was upset about Kate being used to sell copies of Hello

So same story but now Harry has claimed the upset about Hello when a day or two ago he was apparently blaming William for not being invited. Same story but different protagonists.

So which is it? Is Harry deliberately got going because he was insulted by photographers18 years ago? Or is he insulted now not to have been invited. Or is this another attempt to jump on the anti press bandwagon?

The Hello thing was a bit of a scandal at the time - the Queen and senior royals were apparently unimpressed that Peter sold his first wedding as a Hello Magazine exclusive for £500,000.

Hilarious. Do the newspapers just completely make this up or has someone “let it be known”??

I didn’t even bother reading it when I saw the headline, the sub-heading and by-line ‘Rebecca English’.

I stared at rain clouds instead. Much more productive.

Not2identifying · 06/06/2026 08:52

I agree that there's no way back for Harry for these sorts of events. I think his Dad's funeral will be the next and last one.

I sometimes think about how William will manage the huge rift when he becomes King and Head of the Church of England at the same time, with the Christian emphasis on forgiveness. I think he'll get the message out discreetly (sources close, etc) that he's forgiven his brother but doesn't wish to be close to him any more. I think Charles handled it with the short message in his first speech but I don't think Harry will rate a mention in William's first speech. It really is over now.

IAmATorturedPoet · 06/06/2026 09:12

I'm waiting for the DM to update the article to show 2008 wedding pictures of Harry and Chelsy!😂

Ramburg · 06/06/2026 09:31

I wonder if DM are printing any old pish for clicks as they know they have won the ANL case

Papercompany · 06/06/2026 09:35

I think the newspapers just make up these stories for clickbait.... can't really disprove them.

I wonder will Harry actually send a decent card and present to his cousin for his wedding? Are would he be so childish as to not?

It would have been an incredible family experience for H & M and kids to go to this wedding. These kids are missing out on so much.

A present of near its sell by date, surplus to demand stock from As Ever, with a card of “love language” word salad written in his wife’s “calligraphy.”

Justdancevance · 06/06/2026 10:22

It’s a pity they didn’t go,

Meghan could then have discreetly dropped a jar of ‘thoughtfully produced jam at each table, ‘made especially for the occasion, blending her signature love of family luck and joy’ into this exclusive small batch along with a few snaps of the table guest name cards with of course her own name moved to the top table for the photos and Kate’s moved next to the toilets.

Followed shortly afterwards a post on as ever followed ‘ now available with a free matchbox to celebrate the day.

Only on the condition that the recipients posted a close up of them munching and slurping through a jam tasting.

Maybe the wedding dessert is UPF pancake mix with guinea pig food sprinkled on the top.

As Hemingway once wrote - "It would be pretty to think so" 😊

elessar · 06/06/2026 10:38

I read the article and for once this doesn’t seem connected to a new clapback by Harry. Although the headline makes it seem that way, the substance is more about Harry being angry about the original Hello deal, and supposition that this is the cause of the rift that means the cousins aren’t close now. So I think the response from Harry is probably the one we heard via sources the other day - that he’s blaming meanie William for blocking his invite, rather than his own behaviour being the cause.

however reading the article, this paragraph stuck out to me:

“Harry loudly complained later that the first he knew of the debacle was when a copy of Hello! was delivered a few days later to Highgrove, his father's country home, and he saw it on the breakfast table.
Furiously, he tried to call Peter to have it out with him but his phone went straight to voicemail, he later said, as Peter had 'buggered off on honeymoon'. “

Assuming this is true - and if so I think it was absolutely crass and very poor form of Peter to arrange a magazine deal without informing the family in advance - it’s another good example of how selfish he is, that he tried to call Peter and have it out with him immediately, potentially causing a huge row or upset in the middle of his honeymoon. Most decent people - however upset - would wait and address the matter once the person was back from their honeymoon. But for Harry it’s all about his feelings and nothing else matters.

I found it's true. He's always trying to cast himself as the righteous hero in these stories. His ghost writer found as much.
