My point was that some of the discussion is starting to cross into obsession tracking flights, airport locations, landing times, anniversary timelines and reconstructing someone’s movements across countries to try and catch them out.

They set themselves up for it, they are proven liars so when pictures appear apparently from their anniversary morning people will question their authenticity, and we all know being authentic is very important to Meghan right?

Can you honestly say if this was a group of people doing this if it was Kate you would be okay with it? We would all be saying it’s unhinged, obsessive etc.

These musings about her flight are just that musings, it doesn’t even remotely come close to the worldwide media hysteria from the Mothers Day card debacle and the Where is Kate onslaught, though Meghan no doubt wishes she had the same clout and status to receive such media and online attention, she will have to make do with Mumsnet musings instead, and by the way it’s not gone unnoticed how you are trying to paint posters here, you did it on the previous thread as well.

Indianrollerbird · 20/05/2026 11:29

@Serenster and @notimagain thanks for the clarity on BA policy changes. All the more egregious, then, that MM should invade cabin crew privacy and copyright in publishing their card (unless she had their express permission, of course).

jeffgoldblum · 20/05/2026 11:19

Ps a supporter of Meghan, openly critical of Catherine ( not Kate) and William using that username 🙄

Jeff I applaud you! 👏👏👏 !! I didn’t spot that, explains it all now!

BemusedAmerican · 20/05/2026 11:30

Hope the BA crew all signed with fake names. 😁

I mean it was Meghan herself who posted a card from her flight on her instagram account, which had the actual flight number on it!!! It doesn’t really require secret agent squirrel levels of intelligence to “track “ her flight does it! 🙄

Like Meghan herself, some people think we are entirely un observant and clueless!

Might I add that I feel sorry for those poor people in Geneva. There you are, waiting at a bus stop, when some woman shows up and makes a terrible speech. Then you ended up all over social media erroneously identified as listening to the speech when you are just waiting for a bus. Couldn't they have put her in a less public location? Does no one care about the commuter experience anymore?

PoppysAunt · 20/05/2026 11:43

It's bizarre how people still claim, in the face of all the evidence, that H&M want privacy.
It's baffling.
Meanwhile I'm totally here for their egotistical nonsense 🍿

How I wish those two ladies at the bus stop had been "The Extras" from French and Saunders. That would have been hilarious.

Yes agreed ! , I really felt sorry for that poor woman quietly sunbathing in Sydney, minding her own business, then not only being practically trampled over but having her picture published globally!!

BemusedAmerican · 20/05/2026 11:46

Although she is now an Australian hero.

They never really wanted privacy. They wanted control.

True ! But did she want to be?

JSMill · 20/05/2026 11:48

Absolutely. Control of their media and silencing all their bad press and any scrutiny of them, sold by Harry as "fixation" to those gullible enough to listen to the pillock. Meanwhile, they will invade everyone else's privacy, including their families and sick children, and they will remain silent while their squaddies viciously attack anyone who questions them.

Ohpleeeease · 20/05/2026 11:52

notimagain · 20/05/2026 08:11

A quiet presented card and a glass of champagne, yep.

It was the idea some seemed to have that crews might go beyond that and burst into song that was making me go 😨

No, no, I definitely didn’t say that! I said it happened on cruise ships (and is excruciating).

My point was that most hospitality businesses have things they do to mark special occasions.

I think BA crew picked for her flights might be expected to (and might actually) feel honoured to be the chosen few and so if a card was sent round by MM’s PA some gushing would be expected.

Indianrollerbird · 20/05/2026 11:52

jeffgoldblum · 20/05/2026 11:49

Not bad! They need to be wearing cloth caps and gurning in the background 😂

BridgetJonesV2 · 20/05/2026 11:55

Youtube is full of videos taken by passengers when someone is kicking off or has to be removed from a flight and the flight attendants are the main focus of these. It must be appalling to have to be dealing with a drunk/entitled passenger causing issues and have a sea of phones in your face at the same time.

Jellybelly80 · 20/05/2026 11:56

notimagain · 20/05/2026 06:54

BA certainly didn't used to be into those types of packages...and to address a comment by a PP, no, the crew wouldn't do anything along the lines of gathering around to sing a song 😱

As for cards, there may well have been the odd spare blank card or cards tucked away in one of the galley carts because they used to do the rounds very occasionally but you'd need someone who is current BA cabin crew be sure.

Edited

It’s very embarrassing sitting on a plane and someone is trying to get a special occasion made of their flight by letting the crew know its a birthday trip/wedding anniversary trip etc. I always want to sink into my seat with embarrassment for them.

It’s ok though when it’s a child and they want to see the cockpit or have their picture taken with the pilots but anything else is too much.

I desperately wanted to gift you the Eric and Ernie talking grapefruit giff ! , that if pictured behind Meghan would certainly have livened up her speech ! But alas it seems that it’s too old fashioned for mn giffs it seems! 😭

IMO (fwiw) this has all been a desperate cry for attention.

They haven't done this ott spectacle for any previous anniversary, and an 8th is a weird one to do - could see the point of it was 10/15/20 etc (I think the Waleses was 15, so can see the reason for a photo). This is a dual purpose - we're Royal, see we had a Royal wedding with special posh people. And WE ARE SO IN LOVE, NO ONE'S EVER BEEN AS IN LOVE, NO MARITAL ISSUES HERE, MOVE ALONG.

The BA flight crew card I imagine was provided by Meghan and given to the flight crew to sign by her PA or whoever was travelling with her. It's like a works card passed to whoever is on that day to sign. Just a bit pathetic and desperate to share it. Nothing from close friends??? Oprah?? Beyonce??? Serena?? George or Amal?? Gwyneth??? <shrug, says it all really>

I'm just too cynical for this shit

Edited

I agree with you about the source of the card.

I don't think they assign special crew members to flights just because the Duchess is on board!

And London to LA must be one of the most celeb heavy flights in the world. I imagine crew members working First Class are used to dealing with celebrities far more famous than the fruit spread chick from Montecito.
