What's the betting that Tedros is off her Christmas card list after not providing a large enough audience?

Starryfifty · 18/05/2026 16:18

a new thread so soon ???? 🤣

jeffgoldblum · 18/05/2026 16:18

😱😱 sleeves?! Noooooo! The horror! The hatefulness!!!

RecoIIectionsMayVary · 18/05/2026 16:20

talking to an empty roundabout.

😂 I nearly name changed to this.

Starryfifty · 18/05/2026 16:20

Black suit, serious elegance. Just another pivot. Why didn't H go with her?

Is this a new "serious global ambassador " cos play nonsense? Not enough distance from the twerking video and letting us know where his crotch is

😱😱😱😱😱

It’s all becoming very Alan Partridge (remember the one when Alan gives a presentation about his life to a room that is entirely empty, save for a few confused, non-paying locals that he tries to force into staying? Yeah, like that. Tedros is Meghan’s PA Lynne.)

First we had the entirely unnecessary barriers at the Sydney Opera House. Now we have the entirely unnecessary barriers on a sparsely attended Swiss roundabout.

Mylovelygreendress · 18/05/2026 16:30

Oh how the mighty have fallen ! To think she and H could have world wide platforms with crowds of people turning out to see them ….
Instead she is reading a partially plagiarised speech on a roundabout to a handful of people.

I wonder who organised this shitshow?

I’m also hoping more about the plagiarism(s) comes up online.

Indianrollerbird · 18/05/2026 16:45

I feel sorry for the parents. Whatever it is they want to achieve is being swallowed up by bad press. I don't agree with the "public health emergency" message, especially not coming out of the mouth of the adoration subject of one of the most vicious online hate groups that has ever existed; but these bereaved parents don't deserve to be so ill used and ignored over the petty PR and oneupmanship interests of this talentless woman.

I wonder if the Duchess stayed in the Geneva Travel Tavern?

I hear it's equidistant between the roundabout and the WHO HQ. That's the genius of its location.

I’m really going to upset some sensitive souls now, but those trousers are horrible, just saw the full length image in the other thread, they don’t suit her, she is too short, they are too wide and too long, they don’t suit the blazer, I think she is again trying to cosplay Catherine who has been wearing flared trouser suits for what seems like forever, she can get away with wearing them due to her stature.

JSMill · 18/05/2026 17:04

jeffgoldblum · 18/05/2026 16:40

That is funny. I am convinced there was barely anyone there and there was no applause. If there had been a significant amount of people, she would not have missed the chance to show off.

I hate to jump in! But in one picture they look like a skirt.

I agree! , if the Swiss YouTuber is correct it was literally her , the families and the WHO staff , it must have been embarrassing for her , especially if this was a knee jerk reaction to Catherine’s Italy trip! , I can’t feel sympathetic, she unfortunately brings these things on herself! 🤷‍♀️

I mean, given the very personal nature of the event, I woudn't expect a big crowd. Which makes it all the more weird that Meghan flew in from LA just for this.

I'm kind of getting the impression that her appearance was a bit last minute. I wonder if she tried to get invited to a more high profile event at the conference, but giving a brief speech at this low key commemoration in a traffic island was the most she could conjure up?

jeffgoldblum · 18/05/2026 17:27

I’m going to make one last comment about clothes before I return to my usual position!
after seeing both pictures, the one from the podium and the one from the meeting, my personal opinion is that the lilac dress with the black jacket would have looked great together and would suit her small frame better.

MrsLeonFarrell · 18/05/2026 17:32

It does rather come across as if both the parents and Meghan have been used by the WHO for cheap publicity. Surely if the WHO was investing in this campaign they would arrange a proper crowd and media coverage. Instead we have a few people on a roundabout. I'm not surprised now that Meghan was hesitant in her delivery of the speech, and I feel a little sad for her.

IdaGlossop · 18/05/2026 17:32

The outfit was actually OK. She wears black well, and it's a colour that disguises the imperfections in the suit - trousers too wide, jacket too short.

But the audience! Dearie me. From what we hear, Meghan's team keep a tight grip on every aspect of the arrangements so something has gone wrong very here. The fundamental error is allowing it to happen outside in a public place, where there is very little control - noisy traffic, mocking passers-by, defecating dogs. Tomorrow, Sophie Duchess of Edinburgh gets to go inside the WHO building and will be greeted by the UK's UN and Swiss ambassadors. Catherine was given the primo tricolor in Reggio Emilia last week. Meghan was given a WHO vest. Fake royalty is just that - fake.

If rumours are true ted was behind the Jordan trip too! , no idea if true but clearly he’s someone who will do things for her , I doubt he would be able to actually insert her into anything bigger though 🤔, although a small event I’m assuming that like Sydney the inclusion of crowd barriers were erected because they ( or her) assumed that there would be members of the public watching too! 🤷‍♀️

Is this a WHO event though? Not that I have a clue but my impression is that it was held in a public place near the conference venue, but not inside it. Also, it happened yesterday, a Sunday, and the WHO GA only started today. So I dont think it was sponsored by WHO.
