The one about Catherine’s skin .

Oh I missed that ! I did comment on that thread when it morphed into the normal….so thin ….. body shaming! …( no idea what that has to do with her face!)

@IcedPurple " At that price you'd forgive poor fitting, but with a suit which likely cost in the 4 figures, a few extra auid on tailoring seems like a no brainer, as the Yanks would say." I do agree with this. The trouble is , I think M likes the labels rather than what actually fits or suits her , and all the more if she gets things gratis.

A good friend of mine buys a lot of high street but not cheap clothes. She factors in getting them altered to fit properly & once she'd told me that I could see why she always looked good in them. The devil is in the detail. A less expensive but decent quality outfit which fits impeccably will, IMHO, almost invariably look better than an expensive outfit which doesn't fit properly. But apart from selling makeup and perfumes - hence couture 😊

I think as ever with Meghan, she's dressed for the event she wishes she was at, not the event she actually is at. Head to toe Armani might be appropriate for a keynote speech at a gala dinner. Not so much at what appears to be a minor event in a nolndescript outdoor location on a Sunday afternoon. I'm sure it's very meaningful for those involved, but it seems a bit desperate to fly to another continent, leaving your young children at home, just for this.

Edited

Agree.

When I read about it I didn't think it would be outside on a roundabout with hardly anyone listening. I imagine that wasn't what she expected either.

Saw this cartoon in an article from “brewtifull living” a coffee publication ( no idea why they are making articles about Meghan!🤷‍♀️) , thought it summed it up well!

I don't think it fitted. It wasn't massively off, but an Armani suit should be impeccably tailored. Not that you'd guess this was Armani if she hadn't gone out of her way to make sure we all know with that weird photo the day before. It looks like something you'd pick up in Next with change from £200. At that price you'd forgive poor fitting, but with a suit which likely cost in the 4 figures, a few extra auid on tailoring seems like a no brainer, as the Yanks would say.

OK, I'm fed up to the back teeth of the constant tearing down of this woman. Yes, I don't like her either but she's doesn't murder babies or kick puppies. I'm fed up with the nitpicking of her outfits, her hair, her makeup - I didn't see the full frontal of her suit but, if I had, I wouldn't have given a toss about 'the arms are too short' 'the black t-shirt is a different black' etc, etc. I respect a lot of the posters on this forum but sometimes the threads are OTT. I'm going to hop over and see if Style and Beauty has a more balanced view.

Mylovelygreendress · 18/05/2026 11:00

Was she only there to deliver that speech ? Just wondering as Sophie is due to be in Geneva today or tomorrow.

Saw this mylovely ! Not sure if it was the same day or not ( assuming it was?!) and then off home I think, she is not involved in the other events there.
wearing the lilac outfit! , I’m also surprised that this was reported by a fashion blog and not regular media! 🤷‍♀️

The points @IcedPurple raised about the suit would probably be discussed on style and beauty anyway 🤷‍♀️

Tearing down the Princess of Wales is objective number one for the superfans.

Since their idol's expertise consists of moving store-bought pretzels from a big store plastic bag to smaller plastic bags, they have given up supporting her and focused on tearing down their idol's "archnemesis".

Unfortunately for the superfans, the polling data shows that this negative strategy has failed. And the negativity they release rebounds tenfold on their idol...

ShamedBySiri · 18/05/2026 12:00

It seems there was someone on the meet and greet team also wearing a black trouser suit. I prefer the cut of hers. Maybe there was a dress code…🤔😂

Definitely.

I've seen royals like Queen Letizia dressed in high street labels like Zara. You'd never guess it wasn't a designer outfit because she's had it tailored to fit her perfectly, it's been expertly pressed and she'll probably only wear it once so it'll never look the worse for wear. A lot better than a poorly fitted and styled designer outfit. But for Meghan, as we saw with that weird photo with the Armani label on prominent display, the fact that it's 'couture' trumps all else.

noonames · 18/05/2026 12:02

I frequent style and beauty so had a look and nobody has mentioned Meghan, even on the thread about royal style. They are talking about Sophie and Edward in tweed jackets at the Windsor show 😂

The good news is that people have started posting on the new Meghan in Geneva thread. Unfortunately none praising Meghan or the outfit as yet. More along the lines of “grifters”, “performative”, “bandwagon”, “irrelevant” and my fave: “Oooo Kate has talked about children… so must I…”

ShamedBySiri · 18/05/2026 12:02

Anyway here’s a nice picture of Catherine who wanted to individually thank all the Italian Carabinieri for their work managing security during her stay.

I bet not a single one knelt before her to thank her for her service. 😉

yes actually I agree. I have no love for either Harry or Meghan but nit picking over the length of her sleeves is a step too far. She often looks a mess and is dressed inappropriately but on this occasion she looked fine and she did OK by most accounts though I haven't watched her speech myself. There are often valid criticisms to be raised but analysing every aspect of her appearance and criticising it seems overly petty.

LipglossAndLies · 18/05/2026 12:04

Common sense would tell you people are just busy with their lives and haven't had the opportunity to come on and comment or just decide not to bother. 🤷‍♀️ It is baffling why we are even asking where these people are? Why do we need them?

With all due respect @Mylovelygreendress I saw your comment on the Kate thread and you were talking about Meghan on a thread about Kate. Isn't that considered derailing so that might explain the response you got. I don't really see why we always have to compare the two anyway as they are two separate people living different lives now.

Well back to the topic, I think she looked lovely compared to some of her previous outfits but agree she didn't sound confident.

The roundabout is, I think, the Place des Nations opposite the UN building. The chair with the leg missing also in that location, is a sculpture representative of landmine victims, and we know who advocates for those now and who advocated for them originally - tall, blonde, sadly no longer with us, sends messages via yoga poses. Diana was a visitor to Geneva several times in the 90s visiting the UN and the Red Cross - an advocate interested in public health issues, which is where MM is positioning the issue of children and the internet - she was loud and clear about that. Which, imo, is a ploy to deflect parental/personal responsibility for our actions, our control over our children, and the consequences, and is a potentially major affront on free speech; although I am sure there are studies supporting the position she is taking - Archewell have definitely funded a few, and at least one being done by a UK left leaning think tank, and Harry has been involved in this issue via the Aspen Institute.

jeffgoldblum · 18/05/2026 12:25

Some people care about clothes and take it very seriously, others such as myself don’t ( currently resplendent in a guns and roses t shirt and grey track suit bottoms!) however I would say Meghan looked fine on this occasion, I certainly wouldn’t go as far as lovely.

we ask about the whereabouts of the fans because for many of us here, we have not been able to move without being attacked on every thread for years, the absence is notable.

we compare Meghan with Catherine because that is the competition that Meghan herself has set up ,with her constant copying and trying to one up her at every opportunity.

finally @Mylovelygreendressis allowed to post anything she wants to on any thread she sees fit as long as it’s within guidelines and relevant, just as Andrew and William are a constant mention on h and m threads because we are told it’s the “royal” section, so by that definition Meghan is also relevant.

What was the tree wearing? 😉

Indianrollerbird · 18/05/2026 12:27

If she didn't sound confident is it because:

  1. She's not confident really, especially without Harry to cling onto;
  2. She didn't write the speech, and it's not about her, so she couldn't get in her greatest hits that make her feel good about herself;
  3. She was trying for gravitas/emotion and it didn't quite land;
  4. She's trying to sounds like Diana/Catherine - not confident speakers who like talking about themselves, but authentic ones who (would) only come out and speak on behalf of others;
  5. It was fucking freezing and she needed the loo.
