Footage of Charlotte

Does anyone else feel really uncomfortable about the photos the RF have put out of Charlotte today? Likewise the photo of them all lying in the sand. I feel those photos should be personal . She’s only 11, on holiday and those moments should be private.

It's actually a bit creepy that you find a child in shorts on the beach uncomfortable - why would you blink an eye at children playing cricket in shorts?

I really don't understand the problem apart from concern trolling a child - but I'm sure that you are equally concerned about the video of her cousin walking in chicken poo in bare feet?

Yes that was a ridiculous suggestion. Can't you just imagine the rumour mill if they were kept under wraps: "My GC goes to school with George and he has extra fingers (like Anne Boleyn)"; "I glimpsed Charlotte at Wimbledon and I'm certain she is a cyclops."

Not to mention that it would of course be a massive incentive for anyone with a phone to stalk the children's shools in the hope of snapping that exclusive photo of the future King, to then sell it to some gossip rag for a hefty sum.

I fail to see how the Wales children are going to suffer from their parents releasing carefully chosen photos a few times a year.

Charlenedickens · 02/05/2026 22:25

I’m struggling to see the ops issue as well, she must realise these children will have royal roles when they grow up. And their parents have to tread a careful line between ensuring the public get some photos of them growing up but protect their privacy, we never see anyone printing photos of these kids in their private life, sure the ops realised that.

and I don’t get the issue with the fact she’s wearing shorts on holiday, it’s completely normal.

HelenaWilson · 02/05/2026 22:28

You never see pics of them at school, with their friends etc

Or in their home. The birthday photos are always out of doors, usually at some neutral location such as a beach or a wood.

The boys had shorts on too - George's have actually ridden up quite a bit, but still not a big issue ... They are children in the summer. Don't make this something it isn't OP.

It is on The Royal Family board which is quite a big clue.

Which means feck all when it's in TRENDING.

whoopsnomore · 02/05/2026 22:30

Isn't it literally their job, to let the "public" see a glimpse of their gilded lives in return for the vast amounts of unearned wealth?

Exactly.

I mean, I do feel sorry for them and their parents that released photos are the best way forward, but that's an aspect of their unusual situation.

Welcome to the planet.

How long have you been away?

You get that there are literally millions of us in this country who give zero shits about the Royals, right?

TapestryNeedle · 02/05/2026 22:32

Aren't they supposed to put some photos out every so often??

FancyBiscuitsLevel · 02/05/2026 22:02

This is posted in “the royal family” topic though.

Somewhere I would never go BUT I didn't need to because it's now on the Trending list!

My bad for not knowing who bloody Charlotte is 🙄

To be fair, it wasn't looking very gilded.

That seems to be half the issue: they just looked like totally normal kids rolling round on the grass in shorts. No prissy, princessy dresses, no fancy hair, not at a 5 star resort. Just patting a dog and playing cricket. There was absolutely nothing gilded about it.

Yeah I was worried she was taking this somewhere she really shouldn’t. These are children, dressed appropriately on a warm day. Charlotte is only 11. But even if she was 16 and wanted to wear shorts that would also be fine. I’m in my fifties, I wear them on holiday too and as much as I’m not famous, people can see me, lol. But it would be abhorrent if this moved to Charlotte had to be fully covered up and not be able to dress normally, like it’s the 1800s.

they are great pics, showing a happy loving family. And I think the parents manage this well. As does the media, no images are ever published of their private life, and I’m absoltely positive many are taken and the media refuse them, as these kids do go out and about.

You don't need to worry: they aren't short of people who take an interest.

Absolutely, compare it to andrew and Sarah’s,

And yer when you read it you felt the urge to comment; when I click on a thread I’m not interested in, I just shut it down and move on, I don’t feel the urge to go to thr effort to scream I’m not interested in this lol. So you can shut it down now.

Charlenedickens · 02/05/2026 22:35

Absolutely, compare it to andrew and Sarah’s,

That is actually rather a nice photo of Sarah. I get that the dresses are OTT, but her hair and make-up is nice.

DappledThings · 02/05/2026 17:43

About 20 seconds of footage and a couple of photos? It's hardly having the paparazzi invited to her whole life.

This. It's not intrusive or invasive of her privacy at all.

Noodledog · 02/05/2026 22:43

SpottyAlpaca · 02/05/2026 22:20

Prediction : Either Charlotte or Louis will opt out of royal / celebrity / public life, pursue a normal career & live as a private citizen.

Which will be absolutely fine, and I'm sure their parents will be happy with it if that's what they are sure they want to do.

Charlenedickens · 02/05/2026 22:35

They DID make me feel sorry for her (my daughter is same age), I agree OP but I don’t think anyone should share their kids lives online. That said, it’s inevitable for them of course.

Look at the previous posts re: trampolining and swimming. Charlotte has a private life. She's not constantly on her parents' sm.

I agree, it's getting a bit "girls must cover up to avoid exciting men/ peadophiles". Bloody hell, she's dressed perfectly normally for a girl in summer. Can we please not curtail girls' freedom to be children because some men are disgusting perverts?

Aspecialkindofhell · 02/05/2026 21:07

I think it’s one thing to share a shot of Catherine smiling look innnocuous and another to use a very personal shot of them all lying on the ground, Charlotte in shorts and then video of her on holiday. It just feels wrong.

What's wrong with her wearing shorts?
I think it was a lovely, happy picture.
