Does anyone else feel really uncomfortable about the photos the RF have put out of Charlotte today? Likewise the photo of them all lying in the sand. I feel those photos should be personal . She’s only 11, on holiday and those moments should be private.

She was 3rd in line when she was born - Charles was 2nd and their mother the heir. Then they all moved up one in 1952.

That doesn't mean she wasn't the Spare and it certainly doesn't mean she wasn't in the line of succession!

i think you are looking at it as if there is a real chance - she would not have viewed it like that

look Henry 8 was not raised to be king - and he was alive in a time where it would be perfectly normal for first in line to die - just as happened

Oh come on! You can't possibly be comparing a future King and his siblings with little Jane and Jimmy down the road, can you? Unless the children were totally isolated from the public, and probably not even then, photos of them would leak out. There would a huge incentive for someone to snap that exclusive photo of the future king and sell it to the media. Their schools would be stalked. There would be all sorts of lurid rumours circulating about them. How you think this is preferable to a few carefully controlled photos and appearances, I genuinely fail to understand.

The children are not working royals and as such should be allowed privacy.

They do have privacy. We do not see inside their homes. We don't see them coming or going from school. We have never heard them speak more than a few words. Instead we see them a few times a year, with their parents, in carefully chosen situations appropriate for their ages.

I'm being sincere when I ask you just what is wrong with this arrangement.
