More than seven years after then-newlyweds Prince Harry and Meghan embarked on their hugely successful Aussie tour, the couple is reportedly heading back Down Under.

A source confirmed exclusively to news.com.au that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are planning to visit Sydney and Melbourne in mid-April.

While their last trip to our shores was in an official capacity as working members of the royal family, this time around they’re travelling as private citizens – and it’s understood they’ll be focusing on activities related to their businesses and philanthropic work.

Details of their specific plans remain unclear, but it’s been rumoured that Meghan will appear as a guest on the Her Best Life podcast, which was initially launched and co-hosted by Jackie “O” Henderson and Gemma O’Neill through their “Besties” company. Earlier this year, just a couple of weeks before her high-profile and abrupt recent exit from her KIIS breakfast show, Henderson revealed that she had decided to “step away” from the venture.

It’s rumoured that Meghan will also appear as a special guest at an upcoming “Besties” event, following in the footsteps of previous VIP speaker Gwyneth Paltrow.

The actress took part in a wide-ranging Q&A with Henderson back in 2023 which attracted around 3,000 ticketholders to the ICC in Sydney’s Darling Harbour – so Meghan’s appearance could be in a similar capacity.
Despite Henderson’s recent departure from the Besties company, she hinted last month that she may return in some capacity in the future - and perhaps Meghan’s involvement could be one such occasion.

While details of the couple’s itinerary are expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks, it’s likely that Harry’s plans will involve Australia’s armed forces or veterans’ community, given his strong connections to both.

It’s understood he also has a number of friends locally, fostered across multiple previous visits, including during his month-long stay with the ADF at an army barracks in Darwin back in 2015.
And in his 2023 memoir, Harry gushed over his time living in Australia as a 19-year-old in 2003.
He wrote in Spare that working as a jackaroo on a farm in rural Queensland had helped him find inner peace during what were “some of the best” weeks of his life.

It’s not yet known whether the Sussexes’ children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, will join them on the trip next month or stay back at the family’s home in Montecito, California.

News.com.au understands that the royal couple’s Aussie visit has been in the works for almost a year.

FWIW I'm another who regards other celebs doing this as grifters, but then I say the same when Charles and William host "pay to meet" events. Granted they claim to give the proceeds to charity, but has anyone actually seen receipts?

I suppose, being the main players, C&W will attract those who consider it an honour to be in their very presence, but whether that'll apply to H&M or if they'll end up gifting the tickets remains to be seen

I follow some youtubers (lifestyle based and travel based) and I know they go to events. I don't mind people trying to make an honest living. But somehow it sits differently with the Sussexes. They have just spent (IMO) the last however many years shitting on the very institution that made them in any way interesting and trying to monetise it increasingly desperately.

I don't think they behave well, and I think with everything that keeps coming out consistently about bullying etc is problematic at best.

I would not pay that sort of money to see them- or anyone else tbh. But I hope the people who do feel that they have got value out of it.

And yes- AMW has been the subject of piercing criticism on MN on possibly hundreds of threads.

Well what is not honest about her Wellness retreat? Her netflix show? Her selling some products?

How about her hypocrisy regards mental health eg bullying ? It's more of the do as I say not do as I do mantra @GoldBthehypo.

I truly do not believe she believes in any of this stuff. She sees things that make money for other people and manufactures - or acts- an interest, or a competence that she doesn't really have. She doesn't come across as authentic in anything she does, to me. That is how I feel about it.

The youtubers I mainly follow have their niche- one lifestyle, one a particular style of ethnic cuisine and one travel. They have spent years (the former has been on youtube for 15 years now) developing their content and developing their confidence and style. They put the hard work in, and didn't have a title to help them along their way. They are clearly absolutely passionate about what they do- and started doing what they do because of their love for the topic. Do you get that sense from MM? Speaking personally, I don't. She hangs her hat on causes du jour- possible exception being women's rights which she has a history with- but even then the reports of bullying her female staff doesn't particularly lend itself to the view that she really cares about women. Or other people generally.

I don't wish them ill. I just think they don't have much to really offer, and I really feel the pretend royal trips are just vanity projects. (Mind you, I once had to run such a trip for a very famous actress who visited the country I was then working in and for her 100% it was a vanity project as well. Total bullshit waste of everyone's time having her clutch babies with a sad look for the cameras, and we had to waste our charity funds importing things she insisted she had to have in her hotel room).

But if people want to spend money to go and see the Sussexes, or buy her stuff or whatever- well, they clearly feel differently to me. I hope that they do feel they get value out of it anyway.

Sounds to me like they know it will affect their own brand and they are drawing straws.

I think its pretty difficult to come up with something new thats never been done before. Jam has been invented all anyone can now do is put their spin on it from flavours to branding. The Duchy is no different it sells jam therefore tou can argue th Raf just copied what others do. They havent invented jam.

But if you still disagree by all means why don't share all the nee things she can do that hasnt been done already amd therefore cant be accused of copying ....look forward to that list...
