I suspect the person in Australia is as much in love with herself as Meghan is in love with herself. You really do need an inflated opinion of yourself to style your name after a woman such as Jackie Onassis.

Yep. It was there for all of us to see at the interview they did with William and Catherine. It was so obvious there was going to be trouble with her (and Harry).

It will be interesting to see how Meghan fares in the Australian atmosphere - let's be honest here and sorry in advance but anyone I have known from Australia is direct, blunt speaking and even rude shall I say or maybe that's the ones I know. 😂 I understand it's a different culture. I'm wondering how world salad will stand up against plain speaking!

That reminds me of being on Safari in Kenya and seeing an Australian family lugging around a big cool-box of beer with them everywhere we went. One day my husband helped them carry it and they told him they were on a family trip because grandad had retired. Anyway, someone had told him not to drink the water in Africa so he’d decided to only drink beer and that he even cleaned his teeth with it. 😂

I do wonder how the Sussexes square reality and their public image, by which I mean the way they want to present themselves: free, liberated, self-made, modern and successful?

I'm trying (not very well) to articulate this ....do they have honest, realistic discussions about the choices they have made and the impact of (for example) losing the Spotify and Netflix deals? Do they have the self awareness to know that their grandiose ideas about carving out a new, progressive role have been reduced to essentially selling out to bring in the cash? Is this why Harry seems to be either sozzled or have a face like thunder most of the time?
Or do they see themselves as making a big success of everything they've done but they choose to move forwards and continue to innovate? I think Meghan is fascinating as she either has a backbone of steel and the grit to brazen out failure and keep trying again, or she is completely delusional and a grade A narcissist. I just can't work out which.
I almost feel like they deserve to catch a break, but then I think about their cruelty, hypocrisy and pomposity and it seems like the universe is dealing with what they deserve. It's psychologically fascinating.

But will it be like the Melania film where the only people watching it were journalists and they kept trying to interview each other

Now Megs is selling selfies, do we think its only the official photos allowed?

I wonder if they enjoy these types of events or if they are just a means for cash.

Have to agree with you @Butteredtoast55 - which is she? I think I fall on the side of someone who was created by a split family with both parents trying to reassure her she was so special even although Mom disappeared and there were half siblings. She was biracial which brought its own problems I'm sure . She then realised she could use her sex/ femininity/ whatever you call it to move on in the world. She realised the importance of an outward appearance of a compliant , generous and loving persona. She got her hair , teeth, boobs and nose fixed. This got her the jobs like suitcase girl and then later as a " hot girl" type actress. She got with Harry - it seemed in her eyes the opportunity of a lifetime. Then 🤷‍♀️.. she keeps at it because she believes she is that special flower. Every now and again that mask drops though and you see the reality creep through. I'm not a doctor though as they say 😂

Im not sure about Harry, but from listening to Meghan on Emma Gredes podcast- that’s a hard no.

She doesn’t do negative words, she doesn’t believe in failure because she can learn from it, so that’s not a failure. When asked if she thinks about the start up business failure rate, she states she doesn’t think about it all because As ever can’t fail, because of how much effort she put into it.

She’s insulated herself in a deluded cloud of positivity. She won’t face up to reality.

Is this the same MM who has bullied, belittled and iced-out many, many women whether they were family, friends, colleagues or staff - according to numerous victim and witness reports via multiple investigations?

Australians love taking the piss out of each other, and I’m not sure Meghan will cope well with that.

Just look at when Mariah Carey jokingly called her a diva on her Archetypes. Mariah meant it playfully, but Meghan seemed genuinely offended and talked about cancelling her “girl crush” because she didn’t felt seen, until Mariah backtracked and clarified she meant it in a good way 🤣

Australians wouldn’t backtrack like that. If they realised a joke bothered you, they’d probably take the piss even more. They’re also very blunt and don’t care about status. Like the guy who told Scott Morrison to get off his lawn in front of the press because he’d just reseeded it. Not a single fuck given 🫣🤣

I guess if Gwenyth Paltrow has done this kind of event it feels to MM that she's in the same kind of lane and so that feels A list.

I actually think if MM had gone down this sort of route initially after leaving the RF: focusing on positivity, well being, yoga, meditation etc she could have ploughed this furrow of rich women paying for 'wellness' and 'self improvement' t quite successfully.

Unfortunately she chose a path of spiteful victimhood whilst chasing celebrity status and pretending to be royal still, and has had 5 years of failure making this 'pivot' seem just another embarrassing venture in which she has nothing to offer.

If they'd gone to live on ranch in Northern California, dropped the titles, shared about how they developed the small holding and products from this, how MM focused on fitness and health in nature blah blah blah, without all the vile, nasty, grandiose shit storms they indulged in while trying to be A list celebs with Netflix, they might have been able to develop a brand this fitted with.

Now though I just cannot read the blurb about herself without wanting to hide behind the sofa with second hand embarrassment.

It’s amazing how often Gwenyth Paltrows name crops up when discussing Meghan. It’s so obvious she’s really trying to copy what she does and sees herself on par with her. She really doesn’t have an original thought in her.

Yes, Harry got a big inheritance. Yes, Charles bailed them out for a while. But it's naive to suggest that their business ventures have been successes in any way. It's possible to want to support them, and to still accept that their life since leaving the Royal Family has not been a commercial success. Which is why they are now travelling to Australia and doing paid for gigs.

I absolutely love the description of Meghan in the advert. It's got such strong David Brent (from 'The Office') vibes - cringy and funny in equal measure.

@StrawberryWaspI totally agree. I think if she gone down the positivity/wellness/ living my best life route and remained tight lipped about the RF, she could have done very well. That would be, though, if she got good people to run things for her and actually listened to them. She herself is not a particularly talented person.

Hilarious the attempts to try and say they aren’t in financial trouble.

• They have let go most of their staff across the board - Archewell productions, Archewell Foundation and those connected to As ever
• They closed down their foundation after only 5 years, and moved to a model where they have a financial sponsor and someone else takes on the admin costs. They couldn’t afford to keep the foundation
• Any rich person, who would have bought that house, would have torn it down or at the very least did a complete refurbishment . They haven’t had the finances for this, they are still living with the kitchen table and chairs put in 20years ago by a Russian oligarch!
• The house is showing wear and tear. The NYT even commented that the kitchen counter tops were ‘well worn’. It’s clear parts of the garden aren’t maintained- so they clearly they don’t employ enough staff.
• They no longer have a partner in NF. They lost the Spotify gig long ago.

What exactly are their income streams? As ever is going nowhere and will soon wind up. Harry has better up but that’s it. They are now having to do events like this to try and raise some cash!

Also interestingly for a while we heard that the security deal was almost done right? That RAVEC was going to cave (December 2025). But there has been crickets since then. The press releases in December sounded like RAVEC had changed their mind and 24/7 security or restoration of IPP status was on the horizon...
