I think I might have met one. A friend of a very elderly lady I know. Royal superfan who'd camp out at Sandringham each year to see them all attend the church service. At an open house of my elderly friend (and this lady must be 80s+ herself.) said "oh you know prince Andrew, you know he's always been so handsome and dashing, and so you know? I think all this stuff about him is all lies".

I would like to read that article but archive isn't working at the moment.

From what I could read this is a PR attempt to polish up William for when he takes over. If he is paying all those millions in tax why did he flatly refuse to disclose how much, unlike Charles who every year disclosed how much tax he paid on his Duchy payout.

Seems W, much like C before him, is deducting around £10m for undisclosed official expenses which in C's case included security, grooming and travel for Cam before their engagement.

It also notes that C hasn't revealed his tax bill since 2021/22 which seems like quite a masterstroke given he's constantly given credit for his transparency 🙄

Basically a bit more puff for good guy W, IMO.

If he's really turned over a new leaf in transparency maybe he can also shed a bit of light on how all the top secret behind the scenes hours he's allegedly putting in are being spent.

I've said on another thread that's quite odd when just a few weeks ago all the splash was that both York daughters weren't welcome at Ascot.

I had been led to believe from media that their marriage was a bit rocky right now, not that it’s any of our business (apart from the bits we pay for ;-)).

But for a press comment the palace can’t really say anything else. A family baby is different to flaunting their bizarre fashion sense at Ascot.

Though why say anything at all given the Yorks are not "working" royals?
