It was also posted on here that it was Anne who was the one concerned about his mental health! 🤷‍♀️

It may be the case that ‘sources’ have conflated PW recent work with male MH - but King Charles best friend Jonathan Dimbleby (as he was announced) was served up to News Night this week to spew the ground for the pity party - every word he said would have been approved by King Charles. Either he’s trying to justify his 15 year inertia by pretending to be ‘too compassionate’ or he’s setting up the context for AMW being too mentally fragile to testify - because exactly like they concluded/calculated with VG civil case AMW shit will fly everywhere and stick if he goes to court.

Firstly, I imagine they would ask the Cabinet Office to give them access - public bodies are often happy to cooperate with the Police. If that was turned down however, they can issue a Production Notice under The Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 (which generally allows then access to files that are considered confidential) and/or they could also apply to the Court for a search warrant. They could ask for a specific warrant to look at highly confidential material - a warrant can be granted under Official Secrets Act for example if a breach of that Act is suspected - quite possible in this case given the broad allegations against Andrew?

Thanks, *Serenster8; I thought you'd know! Smile

Best hope, I guess, that the investigators; requests are complied with

Middlemarch123 · 20/02/2026 19:00

Guardian reports that searches on the London home will continue until at least Monday. Also that the CPS are guiding searching officers as to “what to look for” to bring charges. Interesting times.

Interesting.

Once again it seems previously touted as impossibly hard and tortuous royal revisions are in fact within easy reach should the parliamentary will to enact them exist.

I wonder who else might fall by the wayside?

Who has claimed that though? I think people have pointed out it’s not something the King has the power to do himself - which is true, it seems.

Finally !

I hope this is the catalyst for unsealing the trade envoy files, I think the government will come under enormous pressure now get those released !

I don’t believe this will ever come to trial though, I wouldn’t be surprised if he won’t be around !

Things are looking up on that front, @Thedom!

This parliamentary scrutiny will inevitably lead to pressure on the government and royal family from senior MPs to release the Trade Envoy files from their hundred-year locked cupboard.

In a civilised country, which we are supposed to be, a duty of care is owed to everyone, even those who have committed despicable crimes. This is one of the aspects of safeguarding work which is hardest for many to understand. So many just want punishment but in this country we are supposed to care about justice. In the same way we don't have the death penalty for those who kill. I would rather live in a country that has the humanity to treat criminals and alleged criminals with basic humanity than one that lives by mob rule.

Lots is coming out about people in power who treat other people as things (to use Terry Pratchett's definition of what evil is), I don't want our justice system to become part of that.

We are, or should be, better than that.

It still disgusts people that all this focus is put on him and his MH and that of his venal ex wife, rather than that of his victims.

It’s very sobering when you think that Virginia Roberts and Carolyn Andriano took their own lives over the last few years.

I don’t really get why you think ‘all this focus’ is on the mental health of AMW and SF and not the victims. Allegedly PW has expressed concern but I haven’t heard a single person publicly say anything. If anything, most people discussing the topic on the news seem positively gleeful about his downfall.

There’s a clear spin going on from the Palace I feel and ‘friends’ of Andrew and Sarah which is aimed at diverting public anger to ‘poor Andrew, it must be so hard’.

The only things the palace has said that is their sympathy is with the victims and that the law needs to take it's course. Hardly spin that defends Andrew.

Friends of Andrew aren't the palace, they are friends of Andrew.

I think this will be another house of cards when/ if they are released, the pressure will intensify to get those unsealed.

That is very interesting article. Governments KNEW what a total liability Andrew was as a trade envoy. They were too busy arse licking the royals. He was regarded as a total liability. He got in the way and didn't even inform parliament when he was visiting a country. Yet he was begging them for a bigger role. He was just grifting, why on earth didn't somebody speak out.

“The classic thing would be for him to turn up – and being a royal would get access in some countries – do a lunch meeting but then disappear for six hours and come back with two new Rolexes,” another senior figure said.

“What I saw was a rather unpleasant, arrogant, entitled person who was on the hustle and couldn’t tell the difference between the public interest and his private interests.

“It created quite a sense of general distaste. It was always never completely clear who would pay for his trips – the Foreign Office, business department or the palace. And it wasn’t cheap. He went to Davos one year and insisted on the most expensive chalet.”

Thedom · 21/02/2026 08:45

I follow someone on Instagram, who has been a longtime friend of SF,, there is a group of them who have all been friends since their 20’s. There was a big birthday party in Gstaad last week thrown by one of them, all the group were there, I did wonder if that’s where Sarah was holed up when it was reported she was in the Alps, and then Beatrice shows up in Gstaad, could be a coincidence, but I think Verbier has been the Yorks stomping ground. So I wouldn’t be surprised at all if that very wealthy group will stay loyal to Sarah and her daughters behind the scenes.

If he's got a PhD, he could be called Dr Gordon Brown but presumably he chooses not to use it.
My BiL has one but calls himself Mr BiL.

Just seen a very disturbing picture ( on the fail sadly ) of AMW playing with a toddler with a ball that was a breast shape complete with nipple
He’s disgusting and I think needs a deep investigation- there is something wrong with him

This is part of the bigger problem. There is so much out there and we know that so much fake stuff can be produced by anyone now eg there are photos of Meghan Markle and Andrew - are these real? I've seen the photos of Andrew and the ball - I don't know what to believe. It's difficult for most people to even think that there is any truth behind the allegations that Ellen Degeneres and other Hollywood stars are eating babies. Shagging is one thing - cannibalism is something else. Too much exaggeration can deflect from the reality and that is dangerous.

I have not seen this anywhere in any form. Where are you seeing this? I'm not seeing people cheering in corner shops either - that's a bit too much like people dancing in the streets in South Africa when Meghan Markle got married - all I'm seeing is people thinking " wanker! He's getting what he deserves" .

Where? He’s been stripped of titles, moved house, king has made a statement saying law must take its course. Effectively giving carte Blanche to whatever the cps and police decide. So no I don’t think ‘poor Andrew’ spin.

Loads of people with a PhD don’t choose to use it as their regular title. In fact unless you’re actually working as an academic, many people would feel it’s a bit wanky to insist on calling yourself ‘Doctor XX’

There is also the fact that it has been stated by the DoJ that not everything in the Epstein files is genuine: some things are false images that have been sent in by members of the public, included in the trawl.
I'm not really expecting that to apply to images of Andrew, but it is possible.

Beyond reports that Anne/William are "concerned for his MH" I've not seen much from the palace, but I don't imagine they'll object to others suggesting it

If - as I strongly suspect - tthey're going to use "MH issues" to avoid any potential trial the groundwork will be useful

Thanks for this.

This is the issue I'd like to see MP's concentrating on rather than the window dressing of removing MW from a line of succession he's never going to get anywhere near topping.
