What is likely to happen to the Sussexes?

When the money stops flowing in? They are finished as a brand, MM has nothing original to offer and is tainted with the toxicity that has surrounded them. She personally has ‘bullying’ allegations and high staff turnover as well as her blatant dishonesty. There is evidence that they are no good at making podcasts / documentaries etc so no big income there. There is increasing ‘interest’ from US authorities into their financial dealings … what next? Surely KC3 won’t fund them, so how will they keep going?

@FancyBiscuitsLevel, this is of course only my opinion. However, the dropping on them from the Spotify podcasts (and describing them as ‘grifters’) followed by a significant downgrading of their Netflix deal (the success of ‘Harry and Meghan’ has not been matched by any subsequent output) suggests to me that the productions part / TV / entertainment part is done.
There IS noise in the media about the Archwell
foundation and the financials relating to its name change to Archwell philanthropies , it’s not loud yet, but if there is anything less than 100% transparency it may well result in less options for philanthropy.
The A list noise about the photos at the Kardashian bash - , the articles last year in tinsel town media and the Balenciaga stuff suggests to me that Hollywood ‘royalty’ have rejected H&M - so A list endorsements will be hard to come by.
Like I said, it’s just my reading of the room, and yes, I am interested. (Before anyone tells me I’m sad) which does not mean I am not more interested in AMW / Epstein …

@fairmaidofutopia- your initial premise- that they are finished as a brand - what has led you to make that conclusion?

The data from news websites around the clicks for stories involving them is still very high compared to other celebrities. The public are still clearly very interested. All the evidence we can get related to her online food shop is that it’s doing very well and making them money.

They are both very popular in that the world is still interested in whatever they do. Any event that has Harry and/or Meghan at it will get you extensive attention and coverage. That public interest is something that is sellable. She’s get him in the right location for monetising fame.

Yes they are often in the news but usually for the wrong things. It will be about Meghan's flop of a show, highlighting her lack of talent , her clothing or the price of a mass produced jelly. Harry is in the news because of endless court cases, speaking at minor events eg real estate and blubbing at this recent event. He seems to wallow in his own misery which is definitely not the supporting role he should have had. Yes it gets them talked about but is it doing anything positive for them ? Companies or designers they get involved with seem to have to end up issuing clarification statements. The press is a rabid dog and once people are proven liars they do give the liars a shake every now and again - in fact with these two every time they step out the door. People do not like hypocrites.

The media know that inducing fury is the best way to gain clicks so the Telegraph and all the tabloids constantly publish articles about the pair, knowing their readers love to read about people they can't stand. (The Guardian only mentions them for real news reasons, being a non-gossip publication.)
This coverage doesn't reflect H&M's popularity or money earning potential, in fact the opposite, but the media publications are raking it in. It's purely the human love of petty gossip and schadenfreude. We've loved witnessing downfalls from great heights since the Ancient Greeks decide to put on plays.

If they were as successful as you say they wouldn’t have lost the podcast or the Netflix deal and let’s be honest here the first look deal is a substantial downgrade as Netflix will have no upfront costs, There isn’t the public consumption for them as you think there is

Bunny65 · 13/02/2026 13:32

H&M have become boring so generally the public aren’t as interested as they once were. Supporters used to accuse the press of ignoring Andrew - well they can’t say that now! In terms of gossip to capture clicks and the public imagination the Beckham feud is right up there and of course they, David and Victoria, have been a big success for Netflix. The trouble with Meghan is that she takes herself too seriously - the mickey takes of her lifestyle show - like With Love Vanessa - are much more entertaining than she was. And trying to portray this perfect lifestyle with everyone loving her is just jarring and like something out of the 90s.

I really don’t think the public are bored of them, as evidenced by this thread!!
Anything they do, or don’t do, is absolutely pored over (by some) There seem to be loads of YouTubers who make a living from discussing them.

Well in relative terms I think they have. Yes they will still get publicity but unless they do something really dramatic the interest is waning. It is inevitable.

What happened to Lemonada ?

But the public appetite to engage with their shows, podcasts etc just isn’t there and the viewing figures would back that up. For example if With Love Megan had been successful this would have been renewed. The big brands don’t want to work with them either. They are infamous now and this is not a good thing if you want to build a brand. They’ve had 6 or so years to do it and if it hadn’t worked during that time it’s not going to work now.

Exactly what happened to it? I think, though happy to be corrected, Lemonada was sold. But there has been no more talk of any other podcasts that I known of

There are other new friends in their orbit who also have rumoured unsavory backgrounds.

  • which ones?
  • Tyler Perry
  • Oprah Winfrey
  • Ellen Degeneres
  • I can’t think of her name, the woman who set up those dating apps
  • Chrissey Teigan

BigWillyLittleTodger · 13/02/2026 14:56

Doesn’t matter how famous they are or how many clicks they generate, that’s only making money for the media, they don’t have anything to sell of substance that anyone can buy into that will generate them millions, they don’t have any talent for people to align with, no concerts, albums or blockbuster films to headline in, so their income can never reach the heights of genuine Hollywood stars, Meghan’s As Ever appears to be her main thrust at generating their income but for Gwynth, Goop is just a sideline and a byproduct of her acting, same for a lot of other Hollywood stars, their businesses are not what made them uber wealthy in the first place.

Thedom · 13/02/2026 15:26

The interest in them is more about watching a conceited couple self combust,

Yes, they will get the newspaper clicks and huge commentary usually, but that is not translating into any interest in their commercial efforts despite their global name recognition, they have the most recognizable names on the planet, mega PR behind them pushing out positive article after article and yet everything falls flat, they cannot deliver anything that is remotely successful relative to the huge publicity machine they employ.

Take her lifestyle show which was ridiculed everywhere, her fans were saying oh but Meghan is American and it was made for the American market, yet when the viewing numbers were released it showed the American market actually had the least interest in it, really low viewing numbers even thought it was strategically released at a time when there was nothing else new being released.

The amusing thing is, the trailer for her show got thousands upon thousands of really funny comments, the comment section became the draw and not the trailer. Even that didn’t pull in the viewers.

Maybe this is another case of recollections may vary.

Not a recollection, the actual figures, thanks to a glitch on her website - one million jars, $27 million:

Meghan sells 'more than 1 million jars of £30 jam' | LBC

Meghan sells 'more than 1 million jars of £30 jam' | LBC

The Signature Fruit Spread Gift Box is priced at $42 (or £31), suggesting sales worth around £26.7 million

BigWillyLittleTodger · 13/02/2026 16:23

All these puff pieces appeared after she was found out to have ridiculous amounts of stock left, If she had sold 27 million dollars worth of spread she would have said so in the many interviews she did, particularly the Bloomberg one but it was tumbleweed and we know how Meghan likes to boast and announce her “wins” as per her pretend second season announcement of her show. I presume the company accounts will be available as they are in this country for viewing so no doubt one of the YouTubers will find out when they are released, and if indeed it’s proven she has indeed sold 27 million dollars of spread within 6 months?? Then Hartleys should really take her on as a consultant as those sales figures must give them a run for their money.

I could be wrong but I believe the only thing she did say was that she had “bought over a million jars ( empty) “
no idea why this suddenly morphed into the amount she sold! 🤷‍♀️

There’s a lot of money to be made out schadenfreude.

But not for the people whose misfortune is the subject of the mockery and enjoyment.

Bill Simmons was never “in charge” of Spotify, not sure where you got that information from. However he is a high-level executive leading the company's podcasting and talk strategy. Following Spotify's acquisition of his company, The Ringer, in 2020, Simmons became head of talk strategy, signing a new contract in March 2025 to continue overseeing content and, increasingly, video-driven podcast initiatives.

Please Bill, drink and spill!

I wish I had been involved in the ‘Meghan and Harry leave Spotify’ negotiation. ‘The Fucking Grifters.’ That’s the podcast we should have launched with them,” Simmons said on his podcast, the Bill Simmons podcast. “I have got to get drunk one night and tell the story of the Zoom I had with Harry to try and help him with a podcast idea. It’s one of my best stories … Fuck them. The grifters.”
