2018

If you are referring to the State Visit in 2018 , Charles did meet him and attended the State Banquet .

simpsonthecat · 09/02/2026 16:06

My goodness, it has been pointed out that it has been 11 years, 1 month and 8 days since allegations about Andrew surfaced.

And today we have 'deeply concerned'. Yeah right.

They couldn't even just shove him in the back seat and let Kate sit at the front.

I agree everyone needs to write to their MP's. They need to justify their derogation of their duty on this and many other things related to the RF over the decades. Its not just the trade envoy stuff, although that is the most pertinent. They should not be allowed to just say this is only related to AMW and let them carry on as usual. They need to scrutinise them going forward.

I sent my email off this morning

Yes . The Windsors are playing by the same tired old playbook .
Ie: Ignore it . If that doesn’t work make a word salad statement. Next probably photos of the children / Kate has new hair colour

It is not working because people are disgusted and yes rightly emotional over this entire issue .
Sex trafficking (and I shudder to think what else ) , and the cover up , should be met with visceral emotions .

Instead the Windsors see their cover up as a PR problem to solve .
We see it as a justice issue .

NewAgeNewMe · 09/02/2026 16:51

Ukisgaslit · 09/02/2026 16:51

My mistake - between ignoring it and the word salad the Windsors abused their position as head of state by publicly calling Andrew’s accuser a liar .

Twice

Trump did indeed visit the U.K. in 2018 and met with the late Queen and the then PM .
The following year was a State Visit attended by all the senior Royals .

I think it is a feature of Monarchy and the hereditary principle, if you look at the other European RF's too. They do seem more accountable to their Parliaments though. I think because absolute power corrupts, we need to have proper robust, independent scrutiny of the RF. We have nothing of the sort from our politicians, over decades. That needs to change, and change urgently and seriously. No more forelock tugging, no more giving in to demands to change legislation, no cover ups, open discussion in Parliament where everyone can hear and see.

Re Willams weasly worded desperate statement, its just not good enough, until their whole family look at their structures and systems, stop their staff threatening intelligence staff with NDA's and have a wholesale root and branch reform oif the structures surrounding them that allowed this to happen over decades, on Royal properties. If they cant control what happens on 23 fully staffed premises, don't have 23 fully staffed premises. If they cant keep family members under control then severely cut down the 'working Royal family' to the Monarch and the heir. They have caused this and they have all been complicit. No point trying to save your skin now, and pretending you didn't know what your pervy uncle was up to right under everyone's nose until it was revealed by US authorities. The family had the information about the alleged espionage sealed for 100 years. It is obvious that they are only now showing 'concern for the victims' because their PR has had to drill it in to them that they are going to have to pretend to care now in order to save their own skins.

This is a really great post! I doubt it, but I wish the powers that be at Buck Pal were reading!

Its not even just a justice issue It goes right to the heart of our political system. We are on paper a Constitutional Monarchy and a democracy. We elect representatives to represent us and to act in our best interests. A system literally developed over 800 years to limit the power of the Monarch because of their greedy behaviour. Instead they keep the Monarchy's secrets, refuse to discuss them, allow them to exempt themselves from inconvenient laws and sign contracts that are so ridiculously one sided to the detriment of the taxpayer its almost laughable. The Windsors take the absolute piss but they get away with it because they are enabled by people who are elected by us.

The BRF have a history of being 'forced' to meet the House of Saud. Those racehorses and diamonds don't gift themselves you know!
https://www.express.co.uk/news/royal/1034900/Saudi-Arabia-Royal-family-diamond-gift-jewels-queen-Royal-news

The one thing to say about the jewels is that they look uniformly ugly. I can't remember when I have seen something as hideous as the necklace Camilla is wearing.

It is interesting that only Meghan's earrings are described as 'blood soaked' though.

If AMW were my child, I would be advising him to stay put here. He’s not a criminal, although he’s proved himself an utter idiot lacking in any sort of self-awareness. I don’t think the US courts can force him to testify, and even were they to do so, he could say nothing.

Just as a matter of interest, how many posters in this forum would want all their e-mails going back twenty years or more making public? I know I wouldn’t, even if it’s just indiscretions or moans about friends or family members.

There is compelling evidence that AMW is a criminal actually. I would hope that if it were my child (a bit incongruous to refer to a man in his mid-sixties as a 'child') I would be encouraging him to face up to what he had done and accept the consequences. If the crimes were serious enough I might even report him myself.

Not saying it would be easy - but I hope I would have the integrity to do the right thing, for the sake of the victims. And of course I am not even Head of State.

And I wouldn't care who saw my old emails - mildly embarrassing at most. But I know I have nothing to hide or be ashamed of what with, you know, never having been involved with trafficking people.

Ukisgaslit · 09/02/2026 18:23

More ‘concern’

Where was that concern 10 years ago. Concerned for himself like the rest of the Windsors

Ukisgaslit · 09/02/2026 18:27

@Lalgarh

I’ve used the term heckling too re the Windsors being challenged and I’ve stopped myself now. It’s not heckling , it legitimate questioning . And that it has fallen to ordinary people to hold the Windsors to account says all you need to know about our so called constitutional monarchy.

FGS, no wonder the monarchy aren't held to account when so many subjects are such sheep.

I honestly think the monarchy needs to go or be phased out somehow, the Andrew stuff is so disgusting, such a abuse of power, and it's a lot of things quite frankly, and the queen, she did know and she did hide it and pay off to protect herself the crown and her family, and I don't really want this kind of family as our head of state, and how do you even get rid of them if wanted? Im not sure but they wasn't voted in and would it be better to have a different system where we could vote in and out people instead of this system as im honestly shocked that it's been covered up by so so many high up people and im shocked not more is said, hoping for it to go away, I don't know, but no statements from king Charles etc, they've got away with a lot for a long time, and I feel 'laughed at' by royal family, well not me personally lol but they have this high life and status and well they aren't really are they, even the ones not directly involved, everyone seems to be covering for everyone, it's horrible for the girls/victims, how hard it would be to speak out against this many people in alignment or silence

This!

its not just one bad apple, the whole barrel is rotten and I am so disgusted in the lot of them.

Don’t think we as the public are so naive to think a very young Romanian woman (possibly trafficked) is brought into Buckingham palace for “dinner” and god knows what else with Epstein and Andrew and no one saw a thing? Please

“NOTHING TO SEE HERE” just makes me want proper true transparency even more. Shame on them all and shame on the boss for allowing public buildings like BP to be used for this sordid behaviour.

Edited

I can quite believe he's concerned, but not for the same reasons as normal people, and investigators can only approach him if he allows it,, which would surprise me very much

And I've yet to see an explanation of why someone who's befriended and enabled known paedophiles would give a damn about the victims of one his brother was especially keen on

simpsonthecat · 09/02/2026 18:56

Ghislaine Maxwell makes me sick. It's obvious what she's after.

“If this committee and the American public truly want to hear the unfiltered truth about what happened, there is a straightforward path,” he added. “Ms Maxwell is prepared to speak fully and honestly if granted clemency by President Trump. Only she can provide the complete account. Some may not like what they hear, but the truth matters.

^Ghislaine Maxwell refused to answer questions during a closed-door congressional deposition on Monday, prompting criticism from a House representative backing efforts to release Jeffrey Epstein investigative files.
Robert Garcia, ranking member of the committee on oversight and government reform, said in a statement that Maxwell invoked the fifth amendment and refused to testify during her scheduled deposition. Maxwell’s attorney, David Oscar Markus, also said that she invoked her fifth amendment right.
“After months of defying our subpoena, GM finally appeared before the oversight committee and said nothing,” said Garcia, a California Democrat. “She answered no questions and provided no information about the men who raped and trafficked women and girls.^

What a vile human being

How bad is whatever she is hiding, that she'll only reveal it on condition of a pardon? How could it be worse than what's on the files?

AnnunciataM · 09/02/2026 19:51

Not that it's in any way excusing her, but I wonder if she was similarly abused when young? Her father was, by all accounts, a revolting man.
