Just saw the headline on BBC as I walked past the telly at work Shock

It really is. I hope the CPS / police reach out to journalists, authors like Andrew Lownie who has so much information from interviews, in addition to the actual emails themselves.

The crime he’s being accused of (misconduct in public office) goes back to 1745, in common law. And one hopes they hire forensic accountants to follow the money trail which is quite old now.

How extremely fortuitous the king made his brother do an unexpected moonlight flit. Removal vans emptied royal lodge overnight instead of the 5 months they expected it to take. Good luck to the police finding anything as the contents were not unpacked at wood hall. The king knew this was coming and acted accordingly.

It is.

The fact that this has happened gives me hope in the future of our institutions and somehow more respect for the RF if that makes sense.

Genuine question but I'm not sure I understand the logic here. How does this give you more respect for the monarchy?

They didn't hand him over. It seems this arrest was based on a private prosecution raised by the Republic group.

It's even been implied from what I've read (admittedly from Republic) that other RF members may also be looked at for abuse of their public office/ confidential information.

If AMW were my child, I would be advising him to stay put here. He’s not a criminal, although he’s proved himself an utter idiot lacking in any sort of self-awareness. I don’t think the US courts can force him to testify, and even were they to do so, he could say nothing.

Just as a matter of interest, how many posters in this forum would want all their e-mails going back twenty years or more making public? I know I wouldn’t, even if it’s just indiscretions or moans about friends or family members.

What the heck are in your emails?!

Yes this is my concern.

"The law must take it's course"

“I have learned with the deepest concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and suspicion of misconduct in public office..

"What now follows is the full, fair and proper process by which this issue is investigated in the appropriate manner and by the appropriate authorities.
"In this, as I have said before, they have our full and wholehearted support and co-operation.“Let me state clearly: the law must take its course."

I agree with you

I think the Windsors have had advance word of what we learnt about only days ago . Possibly months in advance .

A lot of testing of public reaction has been going on.

But the question remains -if the Windsors are now feeling so concerned for victims and now stating that the law must take its course - where was this ‘concern’ over the last 17 years ?

Ukisgaslit · 19/02/2026 12:39

Oh @binkie163
are you thinking that the contents of royal lodge are elsewhere ?
I hadn’t thought of that .

I still feel a lot of this is for show. What else do the Windsors know but superficiality and cover up ?

The Express have overstepped here.

@TheAutumnCrow
If you are going to share this type of article, then it needs to have a trigger warning so others can make a choice whether to click on it or not,

I'm very surprised that you would think it is ok, on a parenting forum, to take that paragraph from the article, embolden it and insert it into the body of your post.

There seems now be a rush to be the first to post the next piece of AMW click bait (in the case of this article, it’s an anonymous tip off with no evidence) as soon as it comes to light with little thought to anything else.

Says the poster with " tortured" in their name.

Andrew - continuing his effort to end the Monarchy, part 2
Ukisgaslit · 19/02/2026 12:42

I have not read the thread but I am worried that the investigation will focus on Andrew’s trade envoy activities and not on sex trafficking and other rumoured perversions .
The latter is much worse in my opinion .

And will Andrew be focussed on while any other links between Epstein and the Windsors will be brushed under the carpet ?

My expectation was that all the allegations would peter out with zero action from the RF or our overly deferential political class. The fact that the brother of the king can be arrested is huge in the UK.

Hopefully this will lead to a proper and transparent investigation. I remain cynical in that respect.

AreYouSureAskedNaomi · 19/02/2026 12:53

Sorry I meant to add that it seems that the RF are ready to throw to the wolves in order to save the institution ie the cover up has stopped, no more obstruction. That is progress. I'd noticed the posts defending the RF's actions had dried up on this thread.

TheAutumnCrow · 18/02/2026 23:34

Bloody hell, the Express presumably has legal people ok-ing these allegations for publication?

https://www.express.co.uk/news/royal/2172732/new-andrew-bombshell-epstein-files

New Andrew bombshell as former prince accused of watching young girl being tortured. The former Duke of York has been accused of being present during alleged electric shock torture.

Something about Frogmore Cottage at Windsor.

Holy fuck 😮 just when you think it can't get any more depraved, AMW pulls it out the bag, what a filthy fucking pervert. I am so disgusted. I hope everyone who sat back and did nothing also get the full weight of the law. They had better start decorating segregation blocks because they won't be safe in prison.

The only people who have said that this is anything to do with Republic is Republic, and even they have only said this is "likely influenced by Republic's pursuit of a private prosecution".

They have a warrant for a storage unit too, but yes, I suspect a lot ofvthings have been ' lost' or 'accidentally' wiped. Although I saw on some drama i watched that its never gone forever and it can be retrieved.

bluegreygreen · 19/02/2026 13:02

From the Sky News page, for anyone interested in history -

Bruce explains that the only time a sibling of a serving monarch has been arrested was when Elizabeth Tudor, who went on to become Elizabeth I, was arrested in 1554.
That was over her supposed involvement in the Wyatt plot - a rebellion that attempted to prevent her sister Queen Mary's marriage to Philip of Spain.

An anonymous allegation.

ascenda · 19/02/2026 13:05

I thought police couldn't encroach Royal land without the King's permission. Is this true, and if so how did they arrest AMW on land owned by the King in Norfolk, or indeed Royal Lodge either?

Maybe I'm getting confused and there's something I'm missing or misinterpreting. Not hard with all the threads on this!

bluegreygreen · 19/02/2026 13:09

There are lots of things on these threads that aren't true.

It's often worth going directly to sources to look things up.
