I thought that was Kate and Zara who were sniggering?

I think a few were pretty rude, I just remember B in particular.

I expect that footage won't see the light of day again for us to check!

The Edo has always looked a bit too self-satisfied IMO.

Smug has come to mind.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 14/02/2026 14:03

I think they should just rip the plaster off instead of paying even more money to shut people up and keep their secrets for them

Nice idea, @RainbowBagels, except wouldn't that depend on what the secrets were and who they concerned?

Just what we already know is bad enough, but what if there's worse to come and it involved other senior family members?

Edited to add, and speaking of Kate, @Rhaidimiddim, I'd give a lot to know what she really thinks of all this
However hideous the Windsors are, she at least gew up among what appear to be decent and relatively normal people, and I can't imagine she ever expected anything quite like this

Edited

Ditto.

She married into a family that was still highly esteemed, despite the Diana thing, and it looked like she'd be settling in to a quiet, cosy life with a side-order of glamour and fame.

Instead, she's had a decade of drama that makes South Fork look dull.

I mean yes, if enabling paedophiles and allowing a State building to be used as a knocking shop is not the worst of it then they deserve to be chucked out on their ear.

Yes I remember a few of them were sniggering and eye rolling. Sniggering like children at someone elses wedding when they were in their 30's. Zara can be forgiven as she was heavily pregnant but many behaved badly. Its not their place to pass comment on the bride at her wedding. So much for ' trained from birth for a Royal life'. My kids have sat through some dull family events in their time and know how to be polite and respectful without having to be paid £100m to do it.

I think Catherine is more intelligent than most of them and realised what she was stepping in to and knew it could potentially get very bad, but not quite this bad perhaps? I really don’t envy her her in-laws! And as for bringing children up in the eye of this maelstrom; what a nightmare! Hopefully their schools can protect them outside of the holidays. .

I’m not a royalist but my one flicker of hope about C is that she made that ‘below the radar’ visit to Clapham Common to lay flowers at the protest for Sarah Everard RIP, abducted and killed by the serving Met officer, Wayne Couzens, during the pandemic. Having lived in that same area for a while, I really respected her for that, because she was thinking of the victim.

I dont think it was ' below the radar' otherwise no one would have known about it. She could have gone with a mask on ( covid) or coveted her hair and she would have been completely incognito.

Maybe? I thought she was captured by someone’s mobile phone camera wasn’t she? Possibly I’m being naieve. But I’m still glad she went as it was quite an unusually ‘political’ thing for her to be involved in I thought.

I can’t see Beatrice’s husband hanging around for much longer. There is nothing more in it for him, unless Ferguson has dirt on him and his family that could end up in the book if he dares ditch Queen Vic.2.

Craftysue · 14/02/2026 18:21

I don't know why they hang on to the Princess titles unless it's to make money. I'm not a fan of the Royal family but if they are to survive they need to modernise. If they have to have titles it should be direct heirs and their children only. Louise isn't a titled Princess and it doesn't seem to have done much harm.
I think the York women have and continue to use their titles to make money - Charles should remove them now

RainbowBagels · 14/02/2026 18:29

Louise is a titled Princess, but her parents ( I suspect Sophie) gave them a choice of using titles or not and so far shes chosen not. The problem is the more down to earth and most likely to succeed without titles choose not to use them but the ones who are lazy and dont want to make it on their own or have parents who are entitled themselves choose to give them titles. The solution would be to remove the Prince/Princess unless they are the children of the heir. I think they should take it right down to only the heir but I dont think that will happen any time soon.

Maybe they love each other (?)

Mine was determined when she helped herself to someone else's fiance/father of their child, and yes, I know that was his choice too

The only thing that amazes me is that he's still around ...

He does seem to love striding around in a fake gong...

CathyorClaire · 14/02/2026 20:29

Did KC and W not offer an aide to ensure that any of B and E’s financial dealings were above board?
They refused .

I think that was just B which isn't surprising given the disastrous lack of judgement she appears to possess.

CathyorClaire · 14/02/2026 20:38

I have to disagree here.

I think there are a lot of unanswered questions about Party Pieces, how the rather average goods it was selling alongside many competitors translated into millions and the unusual switch from partnership to limited company a couple of years or so before it folded leaving its creditors high and dry.

His company files accounts under small business exemptions.

I think there's plenty of trust fund moolah in it for him.

That's actually a very fair point, Cathy, but I was thinking more of the family's more overt behaviour and their apparent relationships with each other

Admittedly there's Uncle Gary, but it's always amused me to think of Carol practically sitting on his head before the wedding ... "Don't say this, don't do that, and NO COKE!!"

I suppose he goes to show that getting rid if a RF doesnt stop them gadding about Europe with meaningless titles and massive chinks of cash squirreled away somewhere!

My opinion of Beatrice was determined by her behaviour at H and M's wedding. I can't remember if it was the preacher or the gospel choir, but she was openly sniggering.

Not good breeding on display there.

It was the preacher, Michael Curry (the presiding bishop of the Episcopal Church, the American successor and equivalent of the CoE), whom they and Zara rolled their eyes at. What a disgustingly racist exhibition that was.

I thought the same. He was the American equivalent of the Archbishop of Canterbury and yes, his style of sermon would he unusual by CoE standards, but surely they could've had the decency to hold in any mirth.

I disagree that this was racism.

That preacher went on. And on. And on. Twice as long, I believe, as he was allocated.

And all boring, repetitive word salad stuff about love.

My adult DD and her mixed- race mate who were watching it at my place were also rolling their eyes and wondering.when he would put a sock in it.

TLQ was a great friend of Billy Graham, who was also this type of preacher ( although he was White). So it should hardly be a shock to them. In any caee their Grandmother was Head of the Church of England yet none of them can behave respectfully in church?

simpsonthecat · 14/02/2026 21:46

I don't agree

We have been to Asian and African weddings in our very close family and I embraced how lovely and different it all was

So what he did a long monologue, I found it insulting that members of the royal family sniggered and rolled their eyes
How bloody rude
