They didnt come across well in Lownie's book, especially Beatrice. There was something about one of them (Lownie doesnt specify) only wanting "the sort of people who shop at John Lewis" at some event, wasn't there? Heaven forbid they have to slum it with the plebs!

That’s a view probably shared by most of upper middle classes quite honestly. They are more comfortable with ‘PLU’ ‘people like us’.

It's been discussed elsewhere that B and E were less than welcoming to Catherine - disdainful even. There was, apparently, an incident at a fashion show where they were obviously extremely reluctant to move to allow Catherine to take a seat, and their facial expressions said it all.

(My memory is hazy on the detail.)

There was also the incident at a Christmas service where it looked liked Eugenie deliberately bumped into Catherine .

ThePoshUns · 14/02/2026 10:13

There’s footage of Beatrice barging past Catherine coming out of church and smirking whilst doing so, really quite nasty. They must be very envious of her.

@AnnunciataM
Was that to do with children being invited into the Royal Box at Wimbledon ?

Interesting article, I've always thought B&E were knee deep in it and they have no intention of stepping back from schmoozing anyone and everyone in the Middle East. I'm afraid to say they are as shameless as their parents

Yep. Who, when their parents are having a terrible time ( self inflicted yes) if they really are still close to them, chooses to spend 2 Christmases with their uncle 100 miles away? Their entire grift in the ME depends on their closeness to the RF, and being seen to still have their ear. They are the only ones of the Yorks who can still go on the infamous 'walk to church'. Bea is parading another womans child into her grift too. Her stepson is the only one who is photographed.

Lalgarh · 14/02/2026 10:21

I'm wondering if or how they interact with Meghan.

Harry twigged early on that he would be destined to end up decoratively useless like "uncle Andrew" which is why he started the moves that ended up ultimately with him breaking from The Firm, even before Markle. He says as much in Spare

DancingFerret · 14/02/2026 10:23

Oh yes, I'd forgotten about the church incident. Eugenie in particular does strike me as the archetypal "mean girl", but I have a feeling neither of them embrace the notion of noblesse oblige.

Either way, these days they're probably feeling/being forced to be respectful around Catherine.

Probably not for this thread, but there's discussion elsewhere about a connection between Markle and Maxwell, and by extension Epstein and AMW.

I do recall a televised RF event where Markle was shown taking her seat next AMW whilst smirking at him in what can only described as a very knowing way. AMW didn't acknowledge her at all, almost physically recoiled, glowered, and stared straight ahead.

If prior association between Markle and AMW is ever unequivocally proved, Harry's status is reduced to that of a target to facilitate even more access to the RF for Epstein.

Former Norwegian Prime Minister Thorbjørn Jagland dressed in a black suit jacket, white shirt and a purple tie, he looks off to the left, his mouth tilted down. His hair is grey and skin tanned. The background is blurred.

Norway's former PM Jagland charged with gross corruption over Epstein links

The charge was brought after the Council of Europe lifted his immunity, which he had as its former secretary general.

It should take you to the Mail’s Uncovered: Beatrice and Eugenie's role in sordid Andrew saga. Sources tell BARBARA DAVIES why 'optics aren’t good', REAL reason they go to Middle East, their very different approaches and the fight over Pizza Express alibi

Maybe the threat of B and E losing their titles might make her hesitate ?
Or maybe not….

I think they're on course to lose them regardless.

The way they're behaving now coupled with ongoing revelations about them means it may even be sooner rather than later.

bluegreygreen · 14/02/2026 11:05

Meanwhile Boris Johnson, in an interview with Swedish TV, has pointed out that 'all these powerful men' visited the island and no-one has given evidence, and only one woman is in jail.

Good that a (previously) powerful man actually says what many of us are thinking.

Yep, their ‘HRH victimhood’ has worn so very thin that it’s transparent.

‘The York girls, oh I feel sorry for them’ is dead in the water as a PR spin.

It’s being recognised that they are nearly middle-aged women who have money-making grifts in the Middle East through the venal exploitation of their royal titles.

Well Lownie, in a recent episode of the Lownie Report, said that SF could potentially get seven figures for a book like this, especially if it was tied in with a major interview. and as he is a literary agent as well as a historian and author, I reckon he should know.

He did say however that SF might be restrained by the potential consequences of her actions on B and E and their relationship with the RF.

But if the daughters’ “careers” are trashed by the Epstein scandal and SF really has no money, and her options for potentially leaching off others are now limited, then she might decide to go for the big money option. She always has in the past after all!

Edited

I agree.

She's undoubtedly got some scores to settle and I think she'll take the opportunity to do it and laugh all the way to the bank.

Assuming she can get there without squandering the lot on the way 😁

Yes, even if she did get seven figures, that’s ‘only’ a £million or so. Maybe five million.

She’d wazz that away in a year on First Class Flights, 6 star hotels, super-yacht hire, private fine dining and a private chefs, a full staff including ‘global communications’ people, agents, legal advice, compulsive shopping sprees … and still be ‘homeless’ at the end of it.

Brilliant. And yes that’s no doubt what will happen.

I can’t imagine what Maxwell would see in Markle in terms of bankable benefits like power and influence.

Agree.

Nauseating stuff in the article about Bea being only too aware of her 'blue blood' while Euge is less interested.

If Euge is that unbothered maybe she could show her older sis the way by dropping the princess nonsense of her own accord.

I’m embarrassed to admit that I still don’t know which is which! 😳

BoxingHare · 14/02/2026 11:36

My opinion of Beatrice was determined by her behaviour at H and M's wedding. I can't remember if it was the preacher or the gospel choir, but she was openly sniggering.

Not good breeding on display there.

Why can other countries do this, yet our government gives jobs to the likes of Mandelson and seals envoy documents so the wrongdoings of the government and civil servants aren't revealed?
