Eugenie has cut contact with Andrew

It’s being reported that Eugenie has cut all contact with her father, she refused to visit him at Xmas and isn’t speaking to him at all. There was a discussion on Good Morning Britain about whether this was to protect her own image or whether it’s about her own feelings around what Andrew has done and his refusal to apologise.

Beatrice is still in contact with him apparently, so will this cause an issue between them as sisters?

Is Eugenie just doing this to protect her own image or has the penny dropped that Andrew is a disgusting man and she now believes him to be guilty?

What do you think?

It’s all just PR.

soupyspoon · 22/01/2026 09:03

What image?

ForFunGoose · 22/01/2026 09:05

That’s just an opinion piece aka fake news.

What image?

Both sisters have apparently supported anti trafficking type charities etc so it isn’t a good look to associate with Andrew.

It’s very hard for both of them, regardless of individual decisions. They will have fond memories of their family, and that’s all been tainted by his seediness.

I say seedy because that’s self evident, everything else is suspected rather than proven.

I hope in the circumstances that each is able to accept the other’s decisions.

I suppose you could say that about a lot of news. It’s being widely reported and discussed so deserves some discussion on the RF board.

If it was my dad I’d be utterly horrified. Just imagine discovering your dad was shagging dozens of young prostitutes whilst on work trips abroad in Asia. Prostitutes who were probably not much older than his teenaged DDs. Gross.

And if the rest is true? Unthinkable.

I would speak to him on his deathbed, I guess, but I’d struggle even then.

It may not be criminal but it’s disgusting.

I remember having to process an expense claim for a senior manager at work who had been on a one week work trip with me. I knew he was an alcoholic and going through a rough divorce. I felt sympathetic until I saw he was trying to claim back the cost of watching porn movies in his hotel bill every night (the item was a “premium movie” and they had a tiered cost structure - I knew as I’d watched a regular movie and not tried to claim but the cost back!)

I wish I’d called it out. I was too afraid of the backlash. But I left that job - didn’t want to work for a dirty old man.

MatForCat · 22/01/2026 10:01

Virginia and other young girls and women weren’t prostitutes, they were trafficked, vulnerable girls and women. I hate that they’re referred to as prostitutes.

I hope Eugenie is seeing her father for what he is and realises he’s guilty, but I fear this is just to look better.

I don’t know how they could want contact with him and have him around their children.

TheEverlastingPorridge · 22/01/2026 10:07

Talk about shutting the door after the horse has bolted! How late in the day has she left it??

I just can't understand why NOW? After her father is no longer called a prince.

If she had done it when all his gross behaviour was coming to light, I would have respected her decision. But it seems too bound up with his title loss to hold any real weight to me.

threesocksmorgan · 22/01/2026 10:11

about time the RF stopped these 2 women being princess

I agree.
I think the pair of them knew what their parents were like and as long as they could live the high life they did.
But things have changed. Their father is persona non grata.
They need the link to Charles and William.

Orangemintcream · 22/01/2026 10:13

The reason could be something else entirely - if it is true at all.

LowdermilkPark · 22/01/2026 10:14

I doubt this is true. I get the impression the Yorks are a very close family.

PollyBell · 22/01/2026 10:17

I think what is reported and what people believe and what is the truth never matches

ThePoshUns · 22/01/2026 10:18

I know Charles wants to protect them and it’s not their fault that they have such awful parents, but it doesn’t mean they need to be public royals and seen with the WRF. They should just live quietly out of the public eye.

This is a very balanced, sensible comment.

I think it is nobody else's business. Leave Eugenie & Beatrice alone. They have young children and don't need seedy journalists making their lives hell, after all their father has done enough damage.

Araminta1003 · 22/01/2026 10:28

It is the kind of thing you feel differently about once you have your own children. Especially if you realise what he might have been up to whilst you were just a teen yourself.
Most people would go no contact or very low contact in the circumstances. Not sure why it should be any different just because of their titles.

They have up until now, both chosen to keep contact with their father who is involved in a huge sex trafficking scandal. They both have their own dodgy, questionable dealings too, People are going to discuss it and it’s weird that others want this shut down. You don’t have to be part of the discussion of course,

What about in the previous 20 years that they have been adults? Was it a good look then? She and her parents are shit scared her and Bea will lose the ' princess' titles. I doubt any of the RF gave a shit about Andrews exploits until scrutiny came back on them.

Oh dear.

I work with trafficked girls/children as part of a wider client group and I didnt know they were associated with charities supporting this.

Dollymylove · 22/01/2026 11:17

I dont blame her for cutting him off. How embarrassing it must be and she must feel torn. He is her Dad after all.
They dont get paid any money from the taxpayer and live their own lives. That said, they are the late Queens granddaughters, and cousin of the future King so their is no reason why they should be cut off from the rest of the family.
Im pretty sure that when William claims the crown, Andrew will be kicked out completely, no more des res at Sandringham, and I think he'll do the same with Harry

I read articles saying William is concerned for Andrew’s mental health so I wouldn’t be too sure about him kicking Andrew out completely.

You would have thought that, as a young woman/ teen herself at the time she would have been able to put herself in the place of other teens/young women. She didnt need to be a mother of very young children ( who were nothing to do with Eostein) but a teenage girl, which she was.

bluegreygreen · 22/01/2026 11:27

I suspect they were able to believe it was all made up and vindictive stories until there were consequences for him, and then they had to accept that some at least of the allegations were true.

It can't be easy to accept when it's your family.
