Kate's birthday video "Mother Nature"

The PR machine is pushing Catherine as being the Queen of Nature, so wholesome and pure, and ending the video with "Mother Nature" just seems so forced to me.

I'm not really sure why she would release a 90 second video of this nature. Anyone else?

She does not have a clue about about the lives of ordinary people does she?
To be fair on her, she has never experienced an ordinary life.Even before she married into royalty she was very sheltered.

My head canon is that when William takes over he moves everything into Windsor and either sells BP and KP or turns them into housing.

I think keep BP to use for big state occasions that don’t fit into Windsor. Small suite of offices for monarch’s press team. Small suite of accommodation for foreign dignitaries on state visits.

Open up much more of it for almost year round tourism apart from the few times a year it’s needed for official functions.

All other business at Windsor.

KP is fully commercially rented as accommodation and business use but no Royal security needed. Same with the accommodation area of St James’ Palace. Anyone in the royal family can rent in these places but are treated no differently re rental agreements than anyone else.

I’ve been busy and come back , it’s gone a bit Pete tong! , why would people wish the whole thread deleted? , I doubt it , no most people don’t feel the urge to shut down any criticism of the royal family …..feel free to hate the video for any reason you like …but comments about cancer and denials are not constructive criticism and yes people will object, if you feel that is restricting you , then what can I say really.

To quote a poster of ye olde days these threads are best left to stand to show how some people really are and the lies they tell.

I haven't read anyone questioning the cancer diagnosis on this thread

just stating facts based on what she told us in one of her videos (they found some cancerous cells in something that was removed so gave her preventative chemo)

I think the point being made about the cancer survivor angle was that, was this really something to be bigging up to the extent it always is

Catherine was bullied at one secondary school to such an extent she had to move schools. Having parents with some money didn't make life sheltered. Everyone has struggles and problems.

Is there some kind of cancer scale I'm unaware of that tells us who can and who can't be affected by, and subsequently share their experiences of, cancer being found and having to undergo chemo therapy?

A 40 something mother had cancer, under went treatment and is occasionally talking about her experiences and what helped her. How is that "bigging up"anything? Did she need to lose her hair? Have something visible removed? For her story to be acceptable as something that can be shared?

Who do you think was ‘bigging this up’?

I’m fairly neutral on these boards - I’m constitutional monarchy lite, will happily support a strong republican argument.

I do not support the vicious anti Meghan rhetoric that comes from some quarters.

But I am disgusted by the anti William and Kate campaign which is blatantly being pushed across this board over the last few weeks.

I don’t support the anti Kate cancer angle but if you are disgusted by the anti W & K campaign in the last few weeks how do you feel about the anti H & M campaign of the last few years @wordler

On Mumsnet? I’ve seen reactions to things that have happened but not seen a specific almost coordinated online campaign against Harry and Meghan in the last couple of years. Attention and comments have been connected to specific things they have done - especially things designed for attention such as WLM.

I condemn any of the Twitter / X attacks from those who attack regardless of the topic against H&M.

What is happening is, for once there is discussion about the monarchy. Now if that includes any of Williams actions, as heir, that is fair, surely?
Looking at current threads we have (apart from harry & Meghan threads) - one on Royal helicopters, Andrew and the line of succession, a thread about Norman Bakers new book on Monarchy finances, Duchy of Cornwall tax paid by William and Andrew and his Epstein emails. And this thread about a video Kate put out.
All those subjects are relevant on a royal board and certainly not a campaign against William & Kate

No comparison to the hundreds of threads about harry and Meghan.

Like all Disney Princesses, Kate must be at one with nature, no doubt there were squirrels and badgers mesmerised and following her barefoot haunt through the forest.

I’ve seen a specific online campaign on mumsnet against H &M by the same few posters who rip them to shreds on every single thing they do and then try to run people off the board who dare to try and defend them. It isn’t just comments on things they have done and if those exact things are done by W & K there is no criticism @wordler

Yes - there are also some anti Harry and Meghan posters on here who like to twist the knife when thrh can but the main reason there are multiple threads about the Sussexes is they are doing so many publicity events fir their business.

Yep. This is literally the only board I've ever had personal abuse on/been told to leave the thread (for, surprise surprise, saying something positive about Meghan).

The only way I know every minute detail of Harry and Meghans life/business dealings/court cases/ every utterance/everything on their instagram is through thread titles on here! When I have a break from Mumsnet I never hear anything about them. There are clearly posters who spend a lot of time poring over every single thing about them to post thread after thread about them. They are also the threads that fill up the fastest- hundreds of posts about Meghan day drinking or Lilibet wearing socks or some other crime.. They are really only made relevant by people who follow their every move and keep them relevant by feeding the cottage industry of them. Their children will be irrelevant to the Monarchy. William is going to be Head of State no matter what, and expects George to be Head of State after that. We dont have a say in that, our politicians are weak and ineffectual when it comes to the RF and have failed over many years to act in our best interests. The RF as we have seen, only act if they are forced to by public opinion, preferring to cover up and use aggressive resistance to any scrutiny until it cant be covered up any longer. Willam looks like he wants to be scrutinised less while expecting the same or more. He cant expect no pushback or comment on that though. Its not the 1950's.

oh and the crème de la crème Meghan posting a video of her shaking her ass in the labour ward and Harry knocking on random doors in London in the midst of his supposed terror of his poor UK security

Sorry to disappoint you, but there were never hundreds of posts about kids socks or day drinking. The posts on here are usually discussions about Harry and Meghan and the PR agenda pushed by their ex publicists

The video did not appeal to me at all. It will hit the right note with some people though, and that is fine. I never saw Meghan in the video, so once again the preoccupation with some posters, and their vitriol off her, is beyond tiresome. Anyone who thinks that this is anything other than soft pr for the pow, well....

The trouble is it gives the impression that she’s really got nothing else to do but waft around admiring nature in a landscape bereft of other people. It all looks very lonely to me. It isn’t inspirational, it’s a bit sad.

I can see now why a poster last night asked of other posters ‘please do not contact mnhq and ask for this thread to be pulled’.

They must have a sixth sense that it was about to get worse. Is this level of nastiness typical on a W&K thread? (especially the rating/questioning of a mum’s cancer diagnosis). I guess it must be if a poster had to caveat with the above sentence.
