Kate's birthday video "Mother Nature"

FloridaCheese · 09/01/2026 13:30

The PR machine is pushing Catherine as being the Queen of Nature, so wholesome and pure, and ending the video with "Mother Nature" just seems so forced to me.

I'm not really sure why she would release a 90 second video of this nature. Anyone else?

There is a lot of bitter jealousy on this thread. Look at yourselves. Maybe get out more. In Nature.

There are some sycophants who should look at themselves. Maybe they and the Royals should read the room and the mood in the country

I have quite a privileged life, I’m financially well off and live in the countryside BUT maybe some people do feel rightly pissed off when they’re struggling for money, struggling for time, struggling to even buy food, struggling to rent a 2 bed house, they’re working more than full time, paying tax on a small income when William doesn’t have to pay tax on £20 million income from the duchy etc and then they this video of a very out of touch privileged woman, paid for by the taxpayer making a video like this. It’s not jealousy as I don’t think most people would want their lives, but it’s an annoyance that this family get to live the life they do at taxpayers expense and then put out videos that feel out of reach and out of touch with the majority of the public.

Its more ‘what the fuck is she banging on about’ and 🙄🙄🙄

As I understand it she didn't have cancer. She had some cancerous cells found in whatever was removed (?womb) and had 'just in case' chemo.

The very fact that you name an organ of the body and a ? shows you are guessing. It's a pretty despicable thing to do.

redmangyfox · 10/01/2026 00:23

Aethelredtheunsteady · 09/01/2026 21:46

Surely it would therefore be kinder to retire them all and become a republic? There are always people on these sorts of threads saying how hard it is but they're happy to doom the next generation to it. Surely if you're a genuine fan of the royals you wouldn't want Louis, Charlotte, George etc to have to go through the same awful existence? Seems cruel to me.

Here we go the old abuse accusation again. Do you think the same of all children of famous people?

Are you saying the people on here saying this video is a worthwhile endeavour are sycophants?

Some people should get over themselves. If we didn't have a monarchy then we'd have a president who would be spending" taxpayers' money" on elections every few years, running their staff, their mansions, their security, their state banquets, their PR team, all the things that people moan about the royals spending. The same people would be moaning about a male president's wife making a video about being in nature. Its not clear what these moaners actually want. Whoever is head of state costs taxpayers' money.

Myrealnameisbetty · 09/01/2026 22:56

That is how she explained it herself in front of the cameras which we all saw and listened to.

She said cancer had been present. Could not have been clearer.

jeffgoldblum · 10/01/2026 00:49

Discovering you have cancer, any type is like a gun to your head, if you have young children, it’s a gut wrenching feeling of loss and how they will cope if you die, it’s not a one fits all occasion, it’s not a …I had cancer and worked 80 hrs down a mine situation, it’s personal, it’s a mother’s worst fear , being unable to care for or protect your children from hurt and harm , it’s the feeling that others may go on and you are forgotten and worthless.
then there is the feelings of your significant other, they are scared of losing you , they are worried about the children’s mental health, they are wondering how they might cope alone , it is not something that is only for rich people or poor people, these feelings are universal and no amount of money can equal the fear .
when the light arrives, when the all clear arrives, the feeling of relief is mostly about your loved ones … the children…the spouse … a lot of cancer patients will tell you that guilt is the first emotion.
being out in nature is a balm , but it is sadly not something that our technical age embraces, yes many of us understand the importance but , many , many people do not , if these “cheesy “ videos reach just one person and elevate their suffering it’s worth it.

MyCollectionOfCats · 10/01/2026 01:03

Well Kate, I’m sure my friend would love to get out in nature and have time to appreciate it, but, she has to work full time despite being seriously ill which means she doesn’t have the time or the energy to wonder around in nature. Any energy she has left is spent caring for her children because she doesn’t have a nanny, instead she is constantly stressing and rushing about worrying about being on time for work or to to pick her children up. Any energy she has left, she uses to care for her children and to try to maintain a relationship with her husband. Of course she could save lots of time if she had a couple of helicopters to avoid hours spent in traffic each week, she could then spend taht time in nature, but for now, she’ll have to stick to her car or the bus when she isn’t well enough to drive to work.

Kate needs to read the fucking room. A lot of normal people can’t afford to take so much time out of work when they get cancer, they don’t get to outsource parenting to a nanny, They don’t have much spare time because they’re so fucking shattered from working and doing the tasks that Kate gets to outsource whilst dealing with cancer and treatment symptoms.

Read the fucking room you over privileged idiot.

TheHaplessWit · 10/01/2026 01:20

if these “cheesy “ videos reach just one person and elevate their suffering it’s worth it.

What if this video reaches one person, a video where someone who lives off tax payer money, spends their time preaching about nature (whilst zipping about in helicopters) and having servants (we pay for) do everything for them... what if that person watching thinks this is completely fucking unfair. That they are struggling so hard just to keep going, and now I've got someone rubbing the injustice of entitlement in my face, and they decide to just end it all instead of watching this shit anymore, because the world is so unfair, and those benefitting from unfairness are just flaunting it.

Is it still worth it then? or should the people stealing the most luxorious life possible (using the taxes of struggling people), just be quiet about it.

Watching things like this is like having you neighbor steal your lawnmower, you know they stole it, they know you know they stole it, and then they send you video about how nice their garden is and what a nice time their having and maybe we should make our garden nice too 😡

Crikey, who on earth would have thought a 90 second video about mental health and the benefits of being out in nature would trigger such extreme negative reactions.

Really quite extraordinary.

jeffgoldblum · 10/01/2026 01:29

Death is the greatest equaliser, it doesn’t care if you are rich or poor , a king or future queen or a homeless person, it’s why most people understand empathy rather than petty point scoring.

NoRoomOnThisBroom · 10/01/2026 01:31

The more they do things like this, the more people realise how out of touch the Royals are and the more disillusioned they become with them.

Keep making these videos, keep using your helicopters, keep sending your children out to hug creepy strangers, keep paying off your rape victims, keep hiding your finances….these things will be the downfall of the Royals and it can’t come soon enough.

It’s not just one video, it’s a series of them. Along with their other behaviour, covering for Andrew, dodgy financial deals, sexual abuse, lack of transparency in their finances, using young children for PR etc, it means people have had enough. They are raising questions and criticising them.

She will get quicker treatment, the best treatment, always be treated with respect by her doctors and nurses. She won’t have to worry about paying her bills when ill. She won’t have to worry about funeral costs. IF she dies, her husband won’t have to worry about bills. If he needs a long time off work, he will get it.

Thats not equal in any way to a normal person. I hope Kate remains well, it is horrendous that she has faced cancer at her age with young children, but many other people of her age with children get it and they are in no way equal just because they share the same disease or they die.

As for a homeless person, they likely wouldn’t even access treatment.

You have had enough! , maybe your friends and likeminded people on this thread have too ! But not everyone feels the same and until you have the majority it’s a case of tilting at windmills.

Of course I do , ive stared death in the face and worried about my children, once a person is dead it doesn’t matter what material possessions they had , they are dead.

Of course it does. IF Kate dies, the children will have had the opportunity to spend lots of time with her because she can bow out of work in the years preceding it. She can buy time before she dies by having nanny’s and chefs and helicopters. Once dead, her children will never have to worry about money or where they will live, they won’t have to move house or schools. Yes, they’ll still have lost their mum, but money does help with so many others things.

If my partner and children had to lose me, it would be terrible for them, but would I rather we were poor or rich when that happened? There’s no contest. Money makes all of the other things on top of the death much easier, it takes other worries away.

Anyway, she’s not dead, neither are you or I.

AloneInMyTower · 10/01/2026 03:01

The video is awful but it did make me laugh. She really is clueless.

Maybe she knows she’s dying though and won’t have another birthday. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I agree with this. Money makes such a difference in life when I’ll and after death for the family left behind. It doesn’t take away the pain of loss and grief, but it makes everything else simpler and less stressful.
