Thought it might be nice to have one lighthearted thread in the topic!

Feel free to update with any as they are released.

Yes and it says feel free to update. Some people think Harry with half his head missing and replaced by twigs is light hearted. 😂

I assumed that meant update with Christmas cards. But what do I know.

OccasionalHope · 20/12/2025 12:36

love the super cute Spanish royal doggies.

I guess I meant with Christmas cards / Christmas greetings photos. I'm not that fussed but hoped to keep it in a positive mood and not devolve into the usual bickering!

So here's a sweet video in the positive spirit of the season with William and George visiting The Passage homeless shelter, similar age to when William went with Diana.

George is tall for 12! And it looks like he enjoys interacting in a smaller group setting, he looks a lot less anxious than when at the big official engagements.

How lovely 🥰

@wordlerhe and William make a good pair and William does have long connections with the refuge having gone there with his mother.

That guest book is going to be an incredible historical record for years to come 😍

I think someone said on another thread that that is not the Sussex’s Christmas card.

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c865dvn2l92o.amp

Look this suggests that photo , if not a Christmas card it’s been sent out this year.

So I am within the remits of the thread to talk about it.

Norwegian Royal family card.

It was revealed this week that Crown Princess Mette-Marit needs a lung transplant for pulmonary fibrosis.

It's Meghan's social media holiday message posted on her Duchess of Sussex Instagram page - so an internet Christmas card.

There is also a corporate card with Harry and Meghan at Invictus earlier in the year which I presume is sent to Archewell contacts

It seems to be a UK royal family tradition that they send cards with pictures from their summer holidays or perhaps an official visit. They don't seem to mock up a Christmassy picture.

Although I remember a rather odd one that Diana sent out that caused a fair bit of discussion back in the day with William and Harry wearing black, Diana and the boys posing behind the sofa and Diana looking off to the side

Wow - in hindsight that’s a very odd photo to use. And even without hindsight it’s peculiar - maybe Harry is following in his mother’s footsteps with this.

This is the opposite of a happy family photo.

You have William gazing pensively into the future - full burden of fate on his shoulders. Standing separately - near but not connected with the other two subjects of the photo.

Diana is solely focused on her eldest child but she’s not touching him or reaching out - she looks thoughtful and a weird combination of proud and sad. She’s angled her body away from William towards Harry but every part of her head, gaze is to William.

Harry looks on the edge of the image seeming forlorn gazing at his mother who seems unaware he’s there.

This is as clearly an organized photo shoot - hundreds of images would have been taken and Diana chose this.

In hindsight it’s heartbreaking.

My favorite is the Charles and Diana “Ralph Lauren” advertisement one….

deeahgwitch · 21/12/2025 09:37

Oh @wordler that’s a very good description of the card.
It is an odd card to use.
Little Harry gazing up at his Mummy who appears unaware as all her attention is on William. 🥲

That is a very odd choice. I had never seen that one before.

Ouch here's Harry as Spare in 1992

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh have a card complete with helpful descriptions of the photos!

I like Sophie and Edward’s card . Very unpretentious.

myrtleWilson · 21/12/2025 12:44

Aww I like their descriptions!

Yes, and I like how they are simply 'Edward' and 'Sophie'.

I'm also a bit jealous of their trip to Japan!

Is that a Christmas card? Not festive at all! The black and white is dour, they both look miserable and that chair looks really uncomfortable.

At least William had a chair . Poor Spare could only stand in envy .

Yeah, really strange dynamics. The lighting and general 'vibe' seems very Victorian, so maybe that's what they were going for. Still an odd choice for Christmas.

CurlewKate · 21/12/2025 13:36

Those pictures with Diana would keep people who psychoanalyse from photographs in work for YEARS!
